While we were driving along today, we saw a group of trees that were absolutely filled with black birds of some kind.....we had the bird books with us and Abigail was looking through hers...She said "Oh they're Crows Mom!" so I told her I thought they were a little small to be Crows...she then replied "Thats because they're baby Crows"..................
She then said......"If you need to know a bird just ask, because I know a LOT about birds'...............then she continued to flick through her book, looking out of the window to spy birds to identify.......we heard her say "Hmmm whats that one? Its blue......witha feather on it................"

But I have to say, I love that she has this fascination with wild birds...she can recognise so many by their calls and shape and colouring......and thanks to her fascination she has learnt how to look a bird up in the boook, find the page number and work out what it is! She knows how to use an index etc etc......and she knows Hummingbirds, Mountain Blue Birds, Hawks, Magpies, Grouse, Chickadees.............Blue Jays......Robins, Seagulls, pigeons.............Woodpeckers............
