vegetable garden..........
the strawberries are growing well now...as are the rapberries...and we have several tomatoes growing now...still tiny and green but they are there :) My zucchini and swede are doing well too....but my carrots are refusing to grow......even my watermelons are doing well so far...so why not my carrots???? I've never had problems growing them before!!!!!
Miss B's question.....
'What is the one characteristic of each of your children that you admire the most and why?'
What a great question....
Christopher (14) has amazing confidence. He's small for his age - always has been and I was worried he would get bullied at school because he's small and has a really sweet nature...but he has this amazing confidence that just wins everyone over so he's really popular with everyone...students...teachers......boys....girls......his self esteem and confidence are wonderful!
Laurence (11) is just so caring...the first thing he asks when he gets in from school is 'how was your day and would you like a cup of tea".....he is the first to help Lloyd with anything around the yard....the first to run and cuddle a sibling who is crying ......and he is an amazing running partner...when I think I am about to die he just says 'you're doing great...keep going...you can do this!'
Susannah 9 again is just so so caring......several times after birthday parties I have been told that she took the time to make everyone feel involved...and after one the Mom told me that Susie had asked to stay with one of the children who was sitting quietly with a headache because she didn't want her to be alone at the party.....she left one friendship because the girl was always gossiping and being mean and she didn't want to be involved. She came home from that same friends home and hugged me and said that she couldn't believe the way that other friend talked to her Mom! I'm happy she notices these things. She also came home from swimming one day and said how sorry she was that she had missed our shopping trip together (we just delayed it) but she was worried my feelings were hurt!
Abigail 5 - just like her oldest brother, I think it would have to be her confidence.....Abby has this attitude that she can do anything she sets her mind to...whether it be skipping with a rope at age 3 or riding her bike this year......or doing the monkey bars 3 times in a row without dropping....this has caused problems in the past - like when she was 2 and decided she was going to meet Daddy from the bus stop ALONE........but now she is older I just see it as this amazing characteristic that could take her as far as she wants to go!
Samuel 2......Sam is just Sam lol......I'm not sure what characteristics are shining through yet...but I do know that in him I see so much of Lloyd and I....he is such a BOY...he loves to be outside...he doesn't need much sleep.....he loves cars and diggers and climbing and fixing things.....but hes still very cuddly and sweet.....he has my temper though....but like me he calms down fast too..... I guess for now I would have to say that I LOVE that he loves to be outdoors....he would be out there all the time if he could be....there is nothing he likes more than to be just walking about outside...finding butterflies...playing with sticks.....helping Daddy.....watering the vegetables.....feeding the chickens...collecting the eggs....he's my little farmer boy!
