Tonights page...
Here is a scrapbook page I worked on this evening - a picture of me and the children taken in September on our annual Fall walk.....
I also did a 4 page layout of The Run for the Cure.....but its literally just pictures stuck on and bits and pieces from race day to embellish it - not worth taking a picture of!

Roller Boogie!!
www.rollerboogie.net/
Easter 1983 School holidays. I was 11. They showed the movie Roller Boogie on tv and I videoed it. I fell in LOVE with that movie....OMG It was sooooo great!!! Everything about it!!! Its a really corny movie about a rich bratty girl from Beverly Hills who falls in love with a poor roller skating obsessed guy who tries to teach her to skate......
Such a GREAT movie - I must have watched it a MILLION times that year.....I had roller boots and spent that summer roller skating about - mainly chasing after Garry Harris over in East Coker, but probably a little with Lloyd too lol!
Anyway...I've always loved that movie and have looked for it on tv but finally I got around to looking online and I found the dvd for sale on Amazon :) So I've ordered it...and now I get to introduce it to Susannah :)
At home day...
We were supposed to be out for the day but Chris is sick so we had to cancel our plans and are at home for the day...he's old enough to be left alone but I don't like leaving them when they are sick...and I don't think he would want me to...even though he said it would be ok.....
So instead, I did the laundry and washed all the floors on the main floor, cleaned my bathroom, played 3 games of word bingo (Abigail won every game!) we read Ping and Madeline....I spoke to CHER and paid for my order which will be sent as soon as FIAR is in stock.....
Abigail and Sam have played playdough and I built a house with Sam from bricks....Chris has been flopped on the sofa watching Greys Anatomy. Amber and Rosie are running about outside enjoying the snow.....
We put the bird feeders up yesterday but I haven't seen a chickadee on them yet.....I love watching the birds from the kitchen window.....he great thing about the new kitchen and sunroom will be all the HUGE windows and that we will be so much closer to the trees.....and I plan to have even more bird feeders up :)
Off to print some Guy Fawkes colouring pages for Abigail!

Guy Fawkes Night
“Remember, remember the fifth of November,
The gunpowder, treason and plot,
I know of no reason
Why gunpowder treason
Should ever be forgot.”
Tonight, November 5th, is Guy Fawkes Night. An (traditionally) British 'holiday' remembering the 'gunpowder plot'...when Guy Fawkes and a group of conspirators plotted to kill King James I during the opening of parliament. The plot was foiled and Guy Fawkes captured.....
Since then, children make a 'guy' out of old shirts and pants stuffed with newspaper or straw...a HUGE bonfire is lit in each town, and people gather to watch the 'guy' burn.....there are firework displays and traditional foods like baked potatoes (cooked in the fire), parkin, toffee apples, treacle toffee and tomato soup are eaten around the fire to keep warm.....

Reading frenzy....
We are having a bit of a reading frenzy at the moment.....lots of reading and reading actiities going on....A chose endless books at the library yesterday...including some that come with tapes to listen to.....since our word bingo games this morning she has been sat listening to stories and following along with the books and pictures!
We spent ages at the library yesterday...S was with his Daddy up in the mall which meant we had the peace and quiet to enjoy looking through all the books, using the computers and generally enjoying all the books - we don't get to go without S very often so it was a real treat!
We also picked 3 dvd's to watch and last night we watched 'Eight Below'.

I've used Kayes 'Games for math' before too and can wholeheartedly recommend both!!! Her website has some great colouring pages and games to print off too!
