The Queen of hearts...she made some tarts......
Inspired by a CERTAIN BLOG (that I really should avoid because it's starting to make me FAT lol) we made jam tarts today....
I really think I should get the ingredients for those malteser cakes again.....I craved them like crazy after they were gone last time.....mmmmmmm! The kids came home from school today and these jam tarts soon vanished....5 kids mean things like these don't last long. Probably a good thing really!
We still have Christmas treats here - do you? Two boxes of After Eights left in the pantry...some Purdys choccy's, Marks and Spencers cookies....twiglets.....the ingredients for Ritz mints that we still haven't made!!! The kids want me to make chocolate snowballs too....
Building castles....
Abigail got a book about Medieval castles for Christmas...and you get to actually build one. She is building it with Daddy - slowly! It might take a while as you have to cut out 40 parts from the book and glue them and then put them together and they are doing it together on Sunday mornings. Yesterday they built this part - it took them an hour just to make this small part - but it does have moveable parts!!! The castle might be finished by the end of the year ;)
Artist at work...
Susannah spent every available moment this weekend and finished her entire paint by numbers Sunflower painting :) She did a great job!! I love how dedicated she was to this. We're going to frame the finished painting and hang it in the kitchen where it matches the green walls :) Susie was sooo quiet and focused while she was painting....we kept forgetting she was in the kitchen sat at the island painting. 10pm Saturday night and she was STILL out there painting quietly!!!
Music Monday....
Not just one song...but a whole CD.....check out the CD HERE. It's Justin Hines and in particular his CD 'Sides'...which I treated myself to last week. It's really mellow and laid back and lovely for listening to quietly in the afternoon when you're tired and just sat playing board games with the little ones or reading or blogging....I am LOVING this CD...it's soooo relaxing and calming...really fits with my word of the year BREATHE..... :)
Here are a couple of songs from the album:
ENJOY :)
