The roads weren't too bad this morning....so we headed into town.....you could see a lot of ice on the highway..especially Hwy 21 but we took it easy and arrived safely and on time. Chris arrived at work just as the first tour of the day was arriving...as we waved goodbye he was holding the door open for a group of seniors who had arrived by bus for a Remembrance Day tour.....I know he enjoyes work a lot more when there are tours and he loves to talk with the seniors too.
After we dropped Chris at work we headed to the Kinsmen to meet Samantha...she was teaching two classes there this morning but she invited us to join them as the classes were so small....4 in one class as many had stayed away due to the icy roads and cold (it was -15c when we headed into town)
So the children played in the indoor gym on the slides and balance beams and climbing frames.....and I chatted with Samantha for a while...I collected my Avon from her too...which reminds me its still in the truck....
My truck did well in its service yesterday...they fixed my tire and they washed the truck...I wonder what they thought of the inside of the truck.....its yucky!!!! I forgot to clean it out.....I clean it out once a month roughly but within days it is a pig sty again....actually thats an insult to Charlie.......
After we had played a while and chatted to Samantha we got ready to leave...Abby was giving Samantha a hug and then Sam wanted to hug Samantha too. Samantha was thrilled as Sam had never hugged her before, so she hugged Sam but as he went to hug her he changed his mind and thumped her in the face OMG!!! I was so embarrassed!!!! It must have hurt! And was so sudden! CRINGE!!!! So I was apologising profusely and Samantha was giggling but trying not to.....she works with preschoolers so thankfully knows what they can be like! Samantha if you read this then I am just soooooo sorry!! I blame the Father ;)
So yes...after that eventful goodbye we drove to the mall and went to buy some shoes for the children...so they each have a new pair of shoes...runners (trainers).......I bought myself a new bra and we bought some new playdoh.....playdoh gets used a lot here but it wasn't packed away well recently and it dried up......of course if I was a perfect mother I would make playdoh at home but I actually LOVE the smell of playdoh anyway :)
Someone I know hates the smell of playdoh...who is that???? Christie is it you??????
After that we ran into the dollar store for some poop scoop bags and then went to the library. I pisked up a copy of Lolly Winstons new novel...I enjoyed her first book 'Good Grief' and so thought I'd try this one........I can only keep it for a week though as its a new book...so I will see if I get it read in time!
We picked up our usual mountain of books and headed back to the car and home!!!
The children are now pulling the garbage sacks down the driveway on the sled......and we have had lunch.....I will do some laundry and peel the potatoes for dinner and then I plan to curl up and read that book!
I am tired out, still feeling quite ill and as this morning was the first time I have been out and about with the children on my own for two weeks, it was quite exhausting! I am glad to be home......
I have to say that pulling onto our driveway just now and seeing my home from the road....well its always good to come home but it did look just so beautiful in the snow!
I think I may take the girls for a walk in the snow later with Amber...Rosie can't be out for too long yet because of her operation but Amber still needs a run! I think I will take my camera!
Bye for now!
