When a transformer needs to go...
a Transformer needs to go....
Eeewwwww lol! Do you think the cake decorator did that on purpose??? Hahahaha!!! There was one under each Transformer!!!
Sam turns 5!!!!
Better late than never....sigh....so much to catch up with!! Sam had his 5th birthday a couple of weeks ago, and had some lovely gifts :) He is having a party in February - a joint party with Abigail - but we had a lovely day on his actual birthday :)
I can't believe my little guy is 5!!!!
Dinner with friends.....
On Wednesday evening we went out for dinner with Val and her husband James. Last weekend was Vals birthday and this week is mine, and so we decided to go out to celebrate both birthdays together!! We went to Original Joe's - a restaurant Lloyd and I had never been to - and a fairly new restaurant to our town.
You can find the Original Joe's website HERE.
It's not the normal style of restaurant we would choose, so it was really nice to try somewhere different. The Sweet Chili chicken that we had as a starter was good! I think it is a place we would probably go to more for lunch if we were out shopping or meeting friends at lunchtime....it very much had a 'bar' feel to the place.....
We had a really lovely evening and it was so much fun relaxing with friends and chatting all evening. Val and I know each other soooooo well but we've only managed to get together with our husbands just a few times really, and it was really nice to get to know James better. I think it was good to hear his thoughts on their Hawaiian holiday too - a male view is always a good thing for persuading Lloyd (lol)
Thanks for a great evening Val and James - I hope we can do it again very soon!

snapshots from home....
Above shows our Nuthatch having taken a peanut from the bird table....below shows the snow piled up on the roof...looks as though it has slid down.....
Snapshots from an afternoon drive....
Just a few things we saw on our drive out to pick Susannah up from her sleepover...
I especially liked the Beetles lined up, covered in fresh snow.....
Movies we've watched this week......
This was SUCH a sweet movie that we watched last night......just really sweet!!!
I had heard not such great things about Adventureland but I REALLY enjoyed it!!! It's just a simple movie about teen life in 1987. Great soundtrack too (lol):
This movie is so much fun - I kept cringing for the main character because he says such dorky things, but you can't help but like him!! Just a funny, simple and sweet movie - no idea why the fiancee would want to change him though if he is already 'perfect'....seems to me that getting him 'friends' just caused them problems.....
This is a lovely family movie with some very sweet moments - like making pancakes with his Daughter!!! Very cute and definitely worth seeing :)
Saturday morning snapshots.....
This morning LLoyd and I went to Starbucks for breakfast. We can't figure out why that Starbucks is almost always empty! We go there quite often and we almost always have the place to our selves! We sat and chatted for a while and Lloyd had his oatmeal that he likes :)
After coffee we ran to get more birdseed and then we drove over to the Big Brothers and Big Sisters Lottery House to have a look around. You can see pictures of this house, buy tickets online and see the floor plans HERE. It's for a great cause!!
After looking around the house, we went for a lovely drive and Lloyd was very patient stopping off for me to take pictures here and there in the lovely snowy weather.
Lloyd refused to look at the camera in the piccy above......sigh...but I wanted a snapshot for my 'January' mini album I'm making.
To cheer me up....
I haven't felt well the last few days - we've had a Colorado low come into the area - bringing with it a change in weather and air pressure....and with that I've had bad migraines that my meds couldn't help with. Lloyd came home from work early Thursday to look after me, and on the way he stopped off to pick up these beautiful flowers for me!
My finger is also still really sore..it feels bruised too, so typing is still not easy but I am getting a little better at typing with one finger on my right hand.
Thank you Lloyd - the flowers are beautiful and smell so gorgeous. Love you just so much - you're so thoughtful! xxxx
