Jeremy and Jemima

The other day the children were playing on the old lawn tractor and I was snapping pictures of them and thinking about how they were reminding me of early scenes from the movie Chitty Chitty Bang Bang - where Jemima and Jeremy are playing on the old wrecked racing car!  I was walking the dogs around and they were busy playing and making up wonderful stories....

Chopping onions.....

.....or not!

Sam is always saying that he can chop onions - oh yes he can - he isn't bothered by them at all - they don't make him cry.  He's a champion onion chopper.  So today when I needed an onion chopped he offered again and I sat him at the island and let him chop.  He is GREAT at peeling potatoes, apples and chopping fruit of all kinds.

I had my camera ready to get pictures of the results - you know - of the champion and his chopped onion ;)

The rhubarb is coming through already - by mid May we can normally harvest the first crop:

I even brought some pussy willow home to put in a jug on my kitchen window.

Spring has sprung even if not officially!!  And tonight it won't get dark until after 8pm!!
