Wednesdays news......
It's Wednesday......hump day.....it was an ok day....
The weather is still gorgeous.....but have to say I am LOVING our air conditioning....what a difference it makes to life in the heat....It was 28c today and tomorrow is supposed to be 32c...it would be unbearable to not have AC...I remember how miserable the nights were last summer when we couldn't sleep because of the heat....
Today we went to the splashpark......Abigail and Susie had fun......Sam liked it too.....I have a few pictures but didn't take my camera so they are all on my moms camera.....
We got home around 2:30pm....
Lloyd and I were due to meet with the architect and builder tonight but we got a phone call to postpone as the builders Father died. He's been ill for a while. I had been looking forward to an evening out so we decided to go ahead and go out for dinner anyway....we went into town to Joey Tomatoes and had a lovely meal. I had the Maple Glazed Salmon with Alfredo pasta, sugar snap peas and radishes (I have never had cooked radishes before...only raw...so it was a new vegetable to try!!! very sweet when they are cooked!)
After that we ran to the pet store and got the things we need for our new kitten.....
Then we drove home via Shadow Ridge and Ranchlands..to see what houses are up for sale and who has been doing what re landscaping etc...who is building where.....
Now we are home...sleepy and about to have a nice cup of tea :)

Long weekend is over...
Lloyd went back to work again today :( Only a three day week for him BUT although he has a three day weekend this weekend coming, I won't see him :( We head off to Jasper for 3 days and Lloyd is staying home with my youngest two :( I wish he was coming with us.....
This morning Mom, Abby and I drove over to the local garden Centre (Hastings Lake)

Lloyd wants a claw for weeding but they didn't have any so we just strolled around and then we drove back via the township roads for the scenery.....
This afternoon we are scrapbooking with the girls...Laurie has gone out with friends for a cycle ride......Chris and Oliver - no idea what they are up to......Oliver seems to spend much of his time watching the British news on tv.....maybe I will send them to the store on the bikes or something.....
My quad isn't working right now so last night Lloyd took Sam and I for a ride on his...that was fun...the side field is just a mass of Meadow flowers...all shades of pink and purple......just beautiful...so I may go and take some pictures this afternoon.......
Yesterday me and Mom went to Costco with Susie....then we went to the scrapbook store and bought a few things...which we plan to use this afternoon.........
In the evening we sat outside for a while...road the quad.....then watched Little People Big World before bed..... Lloyd washed the car with Sam and Abby yesterday.....I have photos but haven't uploaded them yet....

Fireman Sam......Firegirl Susie.....Fireman Laurie.....
The children loved firing the hose and were given fire helmets, tattoos and cards that make them official firefighters ;) I have my very own Fireman Sam!!!! (Fireman Sam is a cartoon in the UK)

Another Canada Day draws to a close....
Its been a long day but quite nice....we went into Sherwood Park for the festivities.....ran into Samantha and her family.....saw a few others that I knew too....Oliver got to see some real Mounties....we strolled through the farmers market....stopped off at the fire station where the children got to fire the hose and got given helmets and stickers etc for doing so....Sam loved that :)
Laurie took part in a mini Grand Prix......and won...it was 10 laps and he was against another 5 cars.....it was all remote control sports cars and very exciting :)
Lots of side shows, fairground treats like cotton candy and mini doughnuts.....bouncy castles....stilt walkers.....petting zoos and bird box making (lol)
After that we headed home for a relaxing evening.....bbq.......then ended the evening sitting around the firepit until it was dark....drinking tea.....twirling sparklers......chatting.....telling stories....
We had planned to head into town for the fireworks at 11pm but we took a vote and Susie and I lost....so we didn't make the traditional trek into town for the fireworks :( I'm kind of sad but it WAS nice sitting outside by the lovely fire Lloyd had roaring!
Charlie was sat with us....Cairo close by.......and even Gizmo from next door came over!
Now its almost midnight and everyone is in bed except for Lloyd and I....so I will add the rest of the pictures tomorrow......and go off to bed.....
Happy Canada Day everyone - I hope you all had a great July 1st!!! What did you all do to celebrate??????
