KC's....

On Friday night I took Susannah to a birthday party at her friends house. It was a swimming pool party and they had this ENORMOUS pool - omg It was HUGE!!! I was telling my friend Holly that I wanted to stay and join the party so I could swim!!! What a great pool! It was a hard sided pool with a frame and was sooo great! I was totally jealous! I was joking with Holly that going to her place to drop the girls off is lethal because I am always late for everything because once I get talking I can't get away as we end up talking for HOURS! So I told her I could NOT talk to her as I had to go out :) I still ended up being 45 minutes late (oops) Holly is just one of those people (like Samantha) that I don't see often but when I see her we could just talk the night away! She came round the night I got back from the scrapbooking retreat and we talked for hours then!

Anyway Susie stayed for a sleepover and swimming party and had a fabulous time as she always does! Hollys youngest is Abby's friend and hopefully they can come and sleep over here very soon!

I headed in to town next to Tess's house and then we walked around her subdivision to a few yard sales in my old neighbourhood and I showed Tess my old house! Then Tess bought up an entire yard sale so we had to head home as we couldn't carry anything else (lol).

We drove out to Katies Crossing and got there JUST before it was closing, so bought some ice cream and strolled around the place and I got to show Tess one of my favourite places to go!! They have live music there next weekend by the way!!!

Then we drove down 222 by Twin Island Lake and went to my house for a while and went for a walk. Sam and Abby were busy making mud pies and the kitchen was a complete mess - everywhere was dusty from the basement drywalling and mudding/ sanding...so Tess had to just deal with the chaos...but she at least got to see the kitchen at last - not that it is finished yet!

She didn't come to see my bees lol - Christie was more sociable with my bees she asked to come see them the day before lol!

Lloyd drove Tess home later and we all went inside so Tess could give Lloyd the tour of the new house and so we could laugh at her obsessional storage ideas in her scrapbook room. ;) And I just remembered that I forgot to show Lloyd the obsessional arrangements in her pantry!!! Shame!!!! ;)

So, that was my Friday night!

Who goes to a Creationist Museum????

Friday

On Thursday I had a lovely surprise when a truck showed up at the house - I figured it was yet another workman for Lloyd so carried on filling my containers with flowers. I was shocked when Laurie announced it was Christie!!! "MY Christie?????" I replied!!!!! Lol! I knew she was staying close by for the weekend but still, we hadn't seen each other in soooooooo LONG!!! :) It was great to see her and catch up!! It's always nice to see her and realise that she hasn't changed a bit and is still the same old Christie really :)

Yesterday we went over to the campground at Joseph Lake, where she has her trailer for the weekend. I hadn't seen her kids in sooooo long, so it was great to catch up with them all again. They haven't changed which is good to see. Still so easy to be around and lots of fun. We had a great time learning how to make all kinds of campfire foods like snakes on a stick (pilsbury crescents rolled in to snakes around a stick, baked over fire then dipped in to cinnamon sugar while hot)! There were banana boats (bananas sliced in half in their skins and stuffed with marshmallows and choc chips and wrapped in tin foil and baked on fire) - Abby LOVED these. Christie also gave me lots of other recipes to try at home!

Mme. Bumblebee....

Enjoying the dandelions..... (click on the pictures to see them close up)

When I woke up this morning and sat up in bed I found out I had been sleeping on top of a bumblebee all night! It was dead squashed beneath me!!! It hadn't stung me all night thank goodness but was just squished there thankfully! I have been stung in bed before by them though! I had no clue it was there beneath me all night!

Sure beats a spider!!!

Unplugged Thursdays....

Don't forget I'm offline and unplugged from everything tomorrow - back online on Friday - see you then :)

Enjoy the gorgeous weather!!!

Scent of Summertime....

I just loved this jug they were selling at Ikea the other day - it was the exact kind I had been looking for for AGES!!! A plain white pitcher to put cut flowers in from the garden etc.....something plain and simple. Nothing fancy. It is perfect on my window sill with some cut Lilacs from the garden - and with the window open the breeze coming through makes the whole room smell wonderful!! :)

sticking it's tongue out!!!!

You might need to click on this one to make the picture bigger, but if you look clearly you can see the little Hummer is sticking it's tongue out ;)

In my thoughts....

A lady from a scrapbooking website I go to is going through a difficult time - her Sisters little boy was born this weekend and suffered trauma at birth. He is in intensive care and they are praying that he pulls through. Her family and baby James are in my thoughts. If you pray please pray for them, or keep them in your thoughts.

Please take the time to pop over to Staceys blog 'It's Just Paper' at: staceymichaud.blogspot.com/ and let her know you are thinking of her and her family and praying for them if you are that way inclined. I'm sure they'd appreciate all your thoughts, prayers and well wishes!

Picture thief ;)

Sorry Val - lol - I stole this from your blog ;)

And I already know what Tess will say - "delete, delete, delete" hahahaha but I love this picture :) except urgh when you look close up you can see the wobbly bits under my arms so I SERIOUSLY need to tone up my arms lol! hahahahaha ;) Sigh.....so no one look at that ok ;) just ignore that bit and enjoy me and Tess at last weeks retreat having fun and being silly together :)

Love you Tess :)

Fleurs......

This is the tub that I bought at the yard sale the other week. I can't wait for the pansies to flower properly and really bush out over the edge of the pot. They are really packed in and I bought ones that hadn't really opened much so that there will be lots of flowers opening over the next week or two and then as I dead head there will be lots more to come.....I think they look so pretty against the black and white. Next year the siding on the front of the house will be white too and we will have all new windows there too so it will look lovely there. The porch furniture is all white with black and white cushions so it matches that but with a splash of colour from the mainly purples from the Pansies....

I painted the 'Fleurs' on the side of the tub this evening.

The playing field....

Last night we had a group of 8 deer in our side field (the one that floods that we like to ride the quad bikes through and that is kind of side on to the front yard). It seemed to be mainly Moms and their young and they were all rather skittish and jumping about and playing and having so much fun playing there!! It was wonderful to watch them. Impossible to get a good picture because they didn't stay still for a second - just leaping about and playing and running around!!! Hilarious to see them playing with each other like that and having fun - the only two to stay still were two that stayed way back by the fence looking all timid and quiet. The other six were just having a blast!!! We often see signs that large groups of deer have spent the night in that area or in the little wooded area there or the next open space along where we have walking trails and quad trails, and I wonder if they spent the night there last night. The deer were there playing until dark - after 10pm so maybe we had them spend the night :)
