Eye candy......

Have you all been checking out the eye candy at Shimelle's blog????  Oooooooh all the goodies from CHA!!!  So much yummy goodness coming to the stores this Summer!!!  :)  I may love digital these days but I will ALWAYS heart papers and stickers and ribbons and all things pretty :)

You can also see more CHA eye candy including the fabulous new Dear Lizzy range (I can definitely see a LOT of this being used here!!) at Just Us!!!!

Music Monday....a day late again

I'm doing 'research' for my 52 - 10 page this week. I needed pictures of 80's bands that I used to listen to, and it made me want to go and listen to them on Youtube. This video had me laughing out loud though. It's hilarious!! What WAS Peter Cox doing??? His dancing makes him look as though he has some weird tourettes tic!!! Or he's being constantly shocked by a taser!!! Hahahaha! And then there are bodies flying about all over the place at weird angles......

80's videos were soooooo BAD!!! Yet we loved them back then and thought they were just so cool! Lloyd and I used to love watching Pop Up
Video and seeing all the old videos on there :) so much fun :)

I was a Go West fan!! I think I had a bit of a 'thing' for Peter Cox!!! That was before Matt Goss came along and stole my heart FOREVER......sigh

Happy Anniversary Baby!!

Happy 3rd Wedding Anniversary Lloyd.  I love you so much Baby.  The years I have been with you have been the best years of my life and I am so thankful to have you as my partner through life.  I am so lucky to have such a caring, kind and loving man by my side - someone who always ALWAYS puts me first and makes me feel so loved.

Thank you for being you.  Thank you for for being my wonderful Husband.

FOR TODAY...

Outside my window...it has been snowing for the last few days - just lightly but constantly, and it has been accumulating.  The trees look so beautiful all covered in heavy snow.  I noticed it was light when the children walked for the school bus this morning - days are getting longer :)

I am thinking...about Rhona and her family, who said goodbye to their little dog today after 9 1/2 years.  It's so hard to say goodbye to a pet even when you know you are doing what is best for them.

I am thankful for...a cozy house full of laughter today, fun family life, my camera for capturing memories.

I am wearing... a black top with holes in it, because I don't want to wear a good one at home any more because I'm just going to get more holes in them....so I am just going to wear the ones with holes in them when I'm at home!  Where do these holes come from????

I am remembering...the day my neighbour killed the rabbit!!  My Ex emailed me today to remind me of the day we watched my neighbour accidently kill a pet rabbit....omg it was so funny...but not.....if you know what I mean....

I am going... to bed early tonight - I was awake at 5:20am today because Lloyd woke me up when he got in the shower.

I am currently reading...Family Fun magazine (Valentine crafts), Scrapbook Inspirations, CK magazine.  Body and Soul magazine.....nothing deep - just magazines :)

I am hoping...the weather warms up towards the end of the week so we can get out and enjoy this new snow.

On my mind...frustration over a couple of people and a certain situation - different people/ same situation.....sigh

Noticing that.....the more I stay home, the more relaxed I am - the more relaxed I am, the happier I am - the happier I am, the happier everyone else is!  I am feeling very much like being a homebody right now!

Pondering these words... I now pronounce you Husband and Wife...remembering that day :)

From the kitchen...I made yummy potato and bacon soup for dinner tonight - it's another favourite here.  I left the skins on the potatoes when I diced them and as they broke down, so did the skins.  It adds extra fibre and extra vitamin c.  We eat the soup with wholewheat buns and it disappears fast - very warming on a cold snowy day like today.

Around the house...normal family life....Chris has the week off of school this week.  Susie and Laurie have Friday off.  Making plans for Susannah's birthday and Abigail and Sam's party.

One of my favorite things...relaxing in my chair digital scrapbooking and listening to Justin Hines

Fossil cookies!!

Today we made Dinosaur Fossil Cookies by pressing toy dinosaurs into cookies and then baking them so that the imprints were left in the cookies :)  Sam really enjoyed making them!

Unfortunately Mommy got distracted and forgot about them until the smell from the oven reminded me - oops!  So they were a little too well done!!  The birds got most of them!!!  Sam was happy with the ones he had though and we will definitely do this again!!

Sam told me he especially loved licking the cookie dough off of the feet hahahaha!

cupcakes :)

Abigail and Sam made me cupcakes today out of playdoh :)
YUM!!!  :)

This morning Abigail did a type of math called 'M&M math' which basically consisted of a series of worksheets of sums that she had to answer by using M&M's to work the sums out!

Sam decided he wanted to count all the cups in the house.  It worked out quite well because he ended up emptying the clean dishwashers :)

Sam spends most of his days playing with his soldiers and creating battles all over the house.  At night Lloyd has a platoon too and they battle against each other.  When the older children are home from school, they will sometimes play 'war' with Sam and make up big battles - Sam LOVES this and it all goes very seriously with sound effects and countries being chosen.....Chris is the favourite to play against  because of his sound effects during the battles.

These soldiers and the little tanks that came with them are probably Sams favourite toy lately.  We bought him a small pack last year at the dollar store and he loved them so much that we bought a big tub for his birthday that came with tanks and helicopters.  He has learned so much about wars and battles, guns and tactics from playing with these toys and he frequently asks me to look things up on youtube - like yesterday I had to show him a missile launch.

I's so funny to watch Sam playing these games with Lloyd - he always has sooo many more men than Lloyd and he always manages to kill off all Lloyds soldiers so quickly!  Lloyds side doesn't stand a chance :)  But Sam has soooooo much fun!!!

Soft and downy...

It has been gently snowing since Friday night I think.....a fresh blanket of snow covering up all the dirt.  It's beautiful outside and the trees are laden with heavy mounds of fluffy snow.
So very pretty outside.

Blue Jays take over.....

I tried to get a picture of all three of them on the feeder at once, but this was the best I could do - they all flew away when I got closer!!  The Blue Jays look so beautiful in the snowy scenery.  A splash of colour in the black and white world.

Happy Birthday!

Happy Birthday to Heather from Heather Scraps  who turned 29 today ;)

Us Aquarians NEVER age lol!!!

I hope you had a wonderful day.  I know you won't see this until Monday, but it's still Sunday here!!
:)

Pop on over to Heathers blog and say hi and wish her a Happy Birthday!!!  :)

Congrats to Chris!!!

A few months ago I heard via the homeschool group that I belong to, that there was a contest for students in Alberta to enter for the chance to win a trip to the Olympic Games.  I emailed the details to Chris, Laurence and Susannah - as I always do when I get Emailed info that I think will interest them.

Only Chris bothered to enter the contest!  You had to write an essay - up to 650 words - saying how you help your community.

Last week we heard that Christopher has been chosen to represent our riding (they are choosing two students from each of the 83 ridings in Alberta) and has won a trip for two to go to the Olympic games in February!!!

For a number of reasons we have decided that he is going to take his Dad with him - I think it will be a really great trip for them both - and really exciting - and the rest of us were lucky enough to see the torch go through our town last week anyway.

The prize includes:
Return airfare for two from either Edmonton or Calgary (departure city determined by constituency) including all fees and taxes. o A meal upon departure and return will be provided on the flight. o A pair of tickets to a sporting event o A pair of tickets to a celebration ceremony o Ground transportation to each venue to be visited in Vancouver o Food and beverages at Alberta House in Vancouver o One hundred dollars cash (total) to be used at the discretion of each student and their parent or legal guardian o Souvenir Package o One night’s accommodations (optional) upon return to your departure city (room and taxes only)

Approximate retail value of each Leadership Reward is $3,000.00 CAD (the actual value of each reward may vary and any difference between the stated value and actual value will not be awarded).

I am hoping Chris takes his camcorder and Lloyd has promised to take my camera so I have plenty of pictures to post of everything!!! :)

The night that Chris won, I got an Email from Susannah (I was out at dinner with Val and James) and it read "Do you have any more contests I can enter"????  Lol I guess she's interested in trying now ;)

Well done Chris!!!  :)  Enjoy your trip!!

A page of Chris.....

Most of todays pages use some elements from the 'Hope for Haiti' digital kit that I posted about this morning!!  If you are a digital scrapbooker or are considering starting digital scrapbooking, please consider buying this kit!

First attempt at using a mask!!

I want to learn how to use masks but I am struggling....I tried a few and couldn't figure it out.  I ended up using this simple one and following a tutorial on Jessica Sprague's site HERE.  I'm going to try this simple technique in future but now I'm having problems with my layers because I can't position anything in front of the picture/ overlapping the picture because of the masked layer....??????

Hhhmmmm still soooooo much to learn!!!  I do love the effect of masks though and Chris sat and went through some Youtube videos with me and tried to help too....Thanks Chris!!!
