Summer in the garden.....

My Scarlet Honeysuckles are doing really well again this year despite being attacked by a well meaning workman last year ;)  The Hummingbirds love these pretty flowers and I'm looking forward to them climbing all over the new railings!!

My Daisies are doing well despite me not bothering with the flower beds at ALL this year :(  The flower beds are completely over grown with weeds and grass and yet the Daisies continues to grow and look so pretty with their bobbing heads in the breeze :)

1. If you had 5000.00 to spend on plastic surgery what would you have done?My boobs - lifted back into place lol - definitely :)  

2. Do you watch Soap operas and if so what is your favorite and why?
No.  I don't really watch any tv apart from Greys Anatomy on dvd each Fall.  Oh and Global Breakfast news.

3. Favorite clothing brand?
Reitmans. 

4. An afternoon shopping spree at your favorite store or maid service for a year?
Hhhmmmm well I had a maid/ cleaning service last year and it was ok.....but I went through three companies and none of them did what I really wanted them to do.  In the end I gave up.  So probably the shopping spree...actually I'd prefer a gardener.

5. Would you ever vajazzle?
Abigail might enjoy it but I think it's a bit glitzy for me lol...

6. Favorite Disney Princess?

7. Last movie that made you bawl your eyes out?
Every movie makes me bawl my eyes out lol!  Probably Toy Story 3 last weekend :)

8. Have you ever broken any bones and if so what?
My nose - Susannah broke it for me.  My toe....from things falling out of the freezer.  

Second Prize....

Well, we didn't quite live up to our team name of 'Second Prize' last night at the pub quiz night....we ended up getting an honourable mention at the end of the night for coming last.....hahahahaha!!  That said, it was soooo much fun and it couldn't really be helped when most of the questions were asking who certain soccer players were and we had answers like 'Mr Hottie shows us your Botty'!!  We didn't know any of the answers last night...music, movies, sports, news.....oh dear!!  But the fries were good :)  The company was fun and it's funny to be surrounded by a lot of British and Irish accents....

That said, you don't have to be British to join us...plenty of Canadians there too and we need ALL the help we can get.  Teams of up to 6 can join in and we only had three!!  It's every Thursday (not Canada Day though) and it starts just after 9pm.  Come and join us!!

Friday Fill-ins!!

And...here we go!

1. On vacation, I like beautiful natural surroundings, no crowds, capturing it all with my camera, slowing down and enjoying every moment, not trying to cram too much in, remembering that less is more.
2. I miss paddling my toes and hopping waves with the children in the ocean.
3. One of my favorite vacation spots is Canmore and spending time in the area surrounding that little town.
4.It's hard to see the stars in a sky lit up by a full moon.
5. Up, up and away in a plane I go on two trips later this year.
6. Bananas are an important ingredient in Green Monsters.  I miss them and really should start drinking them again.
7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to relaxing on the porch for a while again once my laptop and phone are charged then watching a movie with the children, tomorrow my plans include taking Laurence to a party, maybe helping Tess design a flyer for a business venture...maybe swimming with the kids - or the splashpark or lake and Sunday, I want to see whats happening around the city and then decide!

Susannah has friends to stay every weekend...often both nights....and one night her and her besty decided to do a fashion shoot with their camera...these are just a few of the results of Susannah's pics!!  They had a blast and the pics are great :)

So...yes, I am back on Facebook....after taking 6 months off I was nagged into rejoining a short while ago....and I had removed almost everyone before I deactivated my account...so if anyone wants to be added to my facebook account just send me a request/ message me.

Mowing the yard...

Laurence has been working hard to keep the grass down, but unfortunately with the rain we have been getting, it is growing as fast as he is cutting it.....

For today......or actually tonight as it's almost 11:30pm :)

Outside My Window... It's almost dark.   The porch light is on.  I can see one lonely star in the sky.  The hummingbird feeder is hanging above the Honeysuckle and there are little moths fluttering around the porch lights.

I am thinking...that I got ready too early to go out this evening...yes it's 11:30pm and I'm about to go out!!!  How crazy is that???  My life is quite the adventure these days!!  Saturday evening I had just finished watching a movie and was planning to have an early night when the phone rang and it was Chris (he doesn't live at home any more but is happily renting a place in town)....he asked me if I would head into town and buy some alcohol for him and his friends for their party as I was the only parent they knew who would be willing to head out that late and do that kind of thing....so Susannah and I headed out on an adventure looking for a liquor store open until midnight and then stocked up the truck and then had to head out into the wilds of Alberta to find this acreage in the middle of nowhere at 1am......it was so much fun!!!  And now tonight I am heading out at midnight for another adventure...and to think just a few short weeks ago my life was soooo dull :)  lol!!

I am thankful for...my amazing children - all of them are so incredible - so helpful, so accepting, so kind and thoughtful and fun and loving and just wonderful young people!!!  I am s proud of them all!

From the kitchen...Not a lot......omg I must admit that over recent weeks my kitchen skills have deteriorated....I have had much more interesting things to focus on...... :)

I am wearing...lacy matching undies....brown top, brown jacket, black jeans.... :)

I am creating... a new life....I'm also taking part in Kara Haupt's FABULOUS new class called The Summer of Love....which is all about photography and journaling.


I am going... on three exciting trips later this year and I can't wait to share them with you guys!!!  I am very excited about them :)  

I am reading...the most amazing Emails.....almost all day and night......they lift my spirit and make me feel incredible and loved.

I am hoping... that this feeling of happiness and renewed spirit continues.....I am enjoying the adventure.

I am hearing... the television in the other room - Laurence is curled up on the sofa watching tv.

Around the house... things are very relaxed and happy - more so than they have been in years :)

One of my favorite things...facebook and how it has reconnected me with my friends again - thank you Nigel for pushing me to do that!!

A Few Plans For The Rest Of The Week...Tomorrow Sharon is coming to spend the day here which will be wonderful!!!  In the evening I am meeting Tracy and Tess at the farmers market with the children and then we are going to the playground afterwards.  Thursday I am hoping to spend with Darren watching his Daughter and her friend attempt to put his tent together :) .  Friday I am having breakfast with Val - our last before school is out!  Friday evening I am going to Boonstock 2010 - the music fest up by Gibbons - with Darren.  
I'm not sure what is happening at the weekend yet.....I guess it will depend on the childrens plans and the weather...I know Laurie has a party Saturday evening....and Susannah was hoping to have her best friend to stay...

New me....

Just a little update for anyone who hasn't been on facecrack with me....I'm now a single Mom but don't worry I'm ultra happy and enjoying the ride.....in fact this Summer is turning in to quite the adventure :)  

I would actually say I'm probably happier than I have been in a long time...which surprises me a LOT!!  I have a busy few months to look forward to.  So much to share with you all :)  

Thinking about it.....

I think I need to blog again....I miss it sooooo much!!  I tried to start a new blog and posted a few things over there, but it just didn't feel right.  THIS is my blog.  THIS is my home.  THIS is where I write and where I post my pictures.

I think I'm ready to start posting again.  Things may have changed greatly around here and I may be on a new life course.....a new adventure....but life is GOOD...in fact, I would say that life is very VERY Sweet...the title of this blog couldn't be more correct :)

Yes, I think it's time to start writing again :)
