Stormy skies.....

We've had quite the storms here tonight...two have rolled over us...the first one was amazing with loud and heavy hail and rain ....and very loud thunder!!  Some wonderfully eerie looking clouds too!

Yes, we're certainly getting some fabulous Summer storms this year!!!

For today......

Outside My Window... a little plane is flying over....the skies are blue....Summer is in full swing and I am adoring it!!! My Summer is here :)  The weather is perfect - splendidly hot temperatures by day and the most wonderful storms by night....ensuring enough rain that there is no fire ban!!!  Perfect!!

I am thinking...about how lovely yesterday afternoon was at the splashpark.....

I am thankful for...Nigel and all the help he has given me over the last few months...and especially over the last week.  He's amazing!  xxx  I hope he knows that!!!

From the kitchen...it's Summer which means my floors are constantly sticky from juice and freezies and ice lollies dripping.....sigh....I get tired from cleaning the hardwood in the Summer or sticking to my floors lol but it's a sign of Summer!!  :)

I am wearing...not much because I am not dressed yet...but I have been up ages cleaning etc etc and playing 'war/ soldiers' with Sam.

I am creating...art journals, note books, Kara's fabulous photography and art journaling class......preparing a lot of crafts and activities and ideas for the children ready for the holidays!!

I am going...to take the children to the bookmobile tonight to sign up for the Summer book game!!  And to get some books to read for the holidays :)  We always take part in the games at the main library and on the bookmobile in our local community!!

I am reading...'Dune Road' by Jane Green and 'The Happiness Project' by Gretchen Rubin.

I am hoping...it doesn't rain on Canada Day

I am hearing... Sam chattering to himself as he sets up his soldiers ready for the next round of war!!!  And Abby giggling as she reads her texts to darren out loud!!

Around the house...getting the grass cut, the yard tidied up and the house tidied ready for Canada Day when we have friends coming over for the evening to join us!!  I'm so looking forward to it :)

One of my favorite things...Definitely my new favourite drink Passion Tea Lemonade with sweetener from Starbucks!!!  :)

A Few Plans For The Rest Of The Week...getting the house tidied......and the yard, visit to the bookmobile, collecting the children from their sleepovers...spending tomorrow with Samantha....hanging out at the farmers market....Canada Day parade and Festival Place.....a party here in the evening......Tess sleeping over at some point....and hopefully swimming at Lindbrook at some point!!!!  :)

Oh and throw in some Emails, phone calls and texts in there....and some mood diary inputs too ;)

Lol!!

The Trial of Mr Wolf....

Today was Laurence's last day at Junior High School, and he starred in the school concert as Mr Wolf!!  He did a fantastic job!!  :)  They all did and I really enjoyed the story of Mr Wolf being in court charged with being a Big Bad Wolf!!!

The audience was the jury, and in the end we got to decide (by clapping) if he was guilty or innocent!!  We all decided he was innocent (well, I think his classmates in the audience tried to make out he was guilty hahahaha lol but majority ruled lol)

School is now over for another year.....yay!!!   I am sooooo happy that Summer can truly begin!!  I love having the children home and have so many plans and ideas and just love how relaxed and fun summer is :)

I know a lot of parents dread the long holidays, but I LOVE Summer and NO SCHOOL!!!  :)

xxx

(I really should start using my camera again and stop relying on my iphone.  I don't get any decent pictures any more!!!  Sorry!!)

Opening the time capsules...

We opened the time capsules this afternoon on a special 'last day of homeschool' trip to the splashpark!!! Our friend Darren joined us and brought us ice creams to help us celebrate!!  Then he helped us use the strings in the time capsules to measure Abby and Sam to see if they had grown.....but the strings were the same size as Abby and Sam so it didn't seem as if they had grown at all..so we aren't sure if the string was too stretchy or if they really hadn't grown!!  Sigh....

BUT...Sam has gained 5lbs and Abby has gained 9lbs since September 11th.  Both their hands have grown!!  Most of their favourite things have stayed the same!!  They both found a Toonie in their time capsule ;)

:)

This is the t-shirt Laurence is wearing for his last day at Catholic school :)

Time Capsule Opening Day!!!

Today is the day that we open our time capsules!!!

Last September we made time capsules full of information about Sam and Abby!!  You can read about them HERE!!  They are VERY excited to open them later today :)

I will add pictures of the grand opening later!!!

Swingball....

One of our favourite games in Summer..it was one of my favourite games as a child and now I love playing against my own children and they love playing against each other....

Toadstool....

Susannah found this huge mushroom/ toadstool in our woods tonight....isn't beautiful.....I bet there is a very cute pixie that lives in this toadstool....

Cutting the grass...

Laurence prepped the grass for the slip and slide tonight, and Susannah wanted to have a go with the push mower - they both did a great job!  It will grow fast again though as we have been having big storms each night with plenty of much needed rain!!

Summer in the garden.....

My Scarlet Honeysuckles are doing really well again this year despite being attacked by a well meaning workman last year ;)  The Hummingbirds love these pretty flowers and I'm looking forward to them climbing all over the new railings!!

My Daisies are doing well despite me not bothering with the flower beds at ALL this year :(  The flower beds are completely over grown with weeds and grass and yet the Daisies continues to grow and look so pretty with their bobbing heads in the breeze :)

My new favourite Summer drink...

Passion Tea Lemonade....with sweetener....YUM!!!

Kara Haupt from 'I Just Might Explode' says this is like drinking Johnny Depp :)
I kind of agree :)

Jumping hurdles...

A Walk at the Natural Area

Getting to know you Sunday!!

1. If you had 5000.00 to spend on plastic surgery what would you have done?My boobs - lifted back into place lol - definitely :)

2. Do you watch Soap operas and if so what is your favorite and why?
No.  I don't really watch any tv apart from Greys Anatomy on dvd each Fall.  Oh and Global Breakfast news.

3. Favorite clothing brand?
Reitmans.

4. An afternoon shopping spree at your favorite store or maid service for a year?
Hhhmmmm well I had a maid/ cleaning service last year and it was ok.....but I went through three companies and none of them did what I really wanted them to do.  In the end I gave up.  So probably the shopping spree...actually I'd prefer a gardener.

5. Would you ever vajazzle?
Abigail might enjoy it but I think it's a bit glitzy for me lol...

6. Favorite Disney Princess?
Giselle from Enchanted.....

7. Last movie that made you bawl your eyes out?
Every movie makes me bawl my eyes out lol!  Probably Toy Story 3 last weekend :)

8. Have you ever broken any bones and if so what?
My nose - Susannah broke it for me.  My toe....from things falling out of the freezer.

Second Prize....

Well, we didn't quite live up to our team name of 'Second Prize' last night at the pub quiz night....we ended up getting an honourable mention at the end of the night for coming last.....hahahahaha!!  That said, it was soooo much fun and it couldn't really be helped when most of the questions were asking who certain soccer players were and we had answers like 'Mr Hottie shows us your Botty'!!  We didn't know any of the answers last night...music, movies, sports, news.....oh dear!!  But the fries were good :)  The company was fun and it's funny to be surrounded by a lot of British and Irish accents....

That said, you don't have to be British to join us...plenty of Canadians there too and we need ALL the help we can get.  Teams of up to 6 can join in and we only had three!!  It's every Thursday (not Canada Day though) and it starts just after 9pm.  Come and join us!!
