So true :)

Five questions.

“If you paint in your mind a picture of bright
and happy expectations, you put yourself into a
condition conducive to your goal."

~ Norman Vincent Peale

1. What movie do you love to quote?
I quote lots of movies...but quite often will say 'Just keep swimming, just keep swimming'  :)

2. H
ave you ever ridden a motorcycle?
No - it is on my list of 40 before 40....quite a few people promise me rides on their bikes this Summer but no one actually followed through!  I looked at a fabulous vespa that was for sale this Summer for an amazing price - but decided to wait until I move into town.  I've always been so set against motorbikes - never wanted Lloyd to ride one because I've seen too many accidents and people killed and injured.....but now I think it's a fear I need to combat - like all my other fears - so I can at least say I have ridden on the back of one!

3.
What's your favorite thing to do on a rainy day?
I quite like driving in the rain.  I also like staying home and curling up to read or watch a movie - or play a game....or paint.  It depends who I'm with and how warm it is.  If it's Summer rain it's nice to sit on the porch and smell the rain :)  In the summer I like to have the windows open and listen to it too - it doesn't rain here very often.  I love falling asleep listening to the rain against the window too :)

4.
Do you prefer a bunch of small gifts, or one really big, (expensive) gift?
A bunch of small gifts I think.  Gifts that show thought.

5. D
o you ever lose track of days and show up somewhere wrong?
Not really....long weekends when the Monday is a holiday tend to mess up my week a bit but not too badly.

Snapshots from our day.....

Attitude of Gratitude!!! Day 5

Today I am grateful for the strength and courage to stay calm even when someone was trying to anger and hurt me.

I am grateful for the beautiful frosty morning we woke to....the sparkly rooftop and glistening grass.

I am grateful for quality time with my lovely Daughter Susannah Fernandez. And for the loving way she reassures me that I am a good Mom.

I am grateful for the funny guy in DeSerres who offered me a discount on Modpodge.

I am grateful for my fabulous Accountant (she knows who she is ♥ ) who has told me so many ways I can save money through deductions on business purchases and things I use.  Even my fabulous Modpodge!!

I am grateful for the canvas I managed to finish today...the movie time with Susannah tonight and the game of Othello tonight....as well as the girly chats tonight about friendships and relationships

Everybody's got a dark side, Nobody's picture perfect....

Don't run away.......just tell me that you'll stay.  Will you love me?  Even with my dark side?

Another totally true quote.....

The true measure of an individual is how he treats a person who can do him absolutely no good. - Ann Landers

Two things that have inspired me today :)

I'm glad I didn't know.......

Excellent quote

“The older I get the less I listen to what people say and the more I look at what they do.”—Andrew Carnegie

Scenes from my Daughters day....

It was cold today - the coldest day so far this Fall.  We had to fill the time while the truck was being serviced, and the children always opt to go to Dollarama and Twisted Yogurt.  I quite like the walk up there and TY do a nice cup of tea :)

The children have new hats, gloves and coats so were all snug and warm ready for the cold :)

Attitude of Gratitude!!! Day 4

Today I am grateful for Park Mazda - their staff are so amazingly friendly! I got another free service/ oil change with a coupon and my Winter tyres put on for $20.

I am grateful that I have two little ones who get over excited about the simplest things and were happy to spend the afternoon pootling around Dollarama and Twisted Yogurt while we waited for the truck!

I am grateful that I am so far ahead with my Christmas shopping and preparations. It is going to take so much stress off of me in December!

I am grateful for all my friends who have 'liked' Lionheart Art - that means sooooo much to me!

And for all the people who have signed up for my classes. I am so excited to start teaching!

(And for Laurence for getting the Summer tyres out of the back of the truck tonight and stacking them neatly away in the garage ready for next Spring.  Yay I have my lovely safe Winter tyres on).

Friday Fill-ins....

And...here we go!

1. In November, I most look forward to The start of Christmas festivities like 'The Festival of Trees' and 'Celebration of Lights'.

2. This week is almost over...phew!

3. It's right there, in the things that you do and the way you live your life, that show the kind of person you REALLY are...

4. I know that tomorrow when my car is serviced and has it's winter tyres on, I will have peace of mind.

5. Water is one of my favourite drinks and is something very important to me - I feel good when I am close to water - be it in a bubble bath, hot tub, by the sea, a lake, a river....snow, rain....water brings me a sense of calm.

6. 'isn't she pale'? is what my grandmother used to say!

7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to staying home and relaxing with a movie and some art with Susannah, tomorrow my plans include attending a training course all day and then going out for the evening with Susannah and Sunday, I want to go hiking somewhere new with Susannah and Rosie for the day....not sure where yet so we need to plan that tomorrow night !

Attitude of Gratitude!!!

Today I am grateful for my truck.  I love that it feels safe and sturdy and it gets us where we need to go.  I love that I don't need to worry about the kids jumping in puddles or having fun at the park...their messy boots or sticky fingers...or Rosie at the dog park in the river.....it is a family car and it shows it - it shows how much fun we have had and how much LIFE we have lived in it.

I am grateful for the hour I had to myself this morning and the man who made me smile with his cheery message.

I am grateful for a lovely afternoon with Tracy sharing the ups and downs of life (and dog ownership lol).

I am grateful for Laurence who managed to get all the tyres in the back of my truck TWICE (after chasing two through the darkness after they ran away).

I am grateful for my iphone - for the fact it allows me to take great pictures, edit them in instagram, send them in texts to make friends laugh, post on facebook and do a million other things. :)

What are you grateful for today?

Art Every Day Month....

Today for AEDM I started a new canvas....I have just sketched the face and tomorrow I will start painting her and then adding texture and some wording....I didn't have much time to enjoy art this evening.

It was an art filled day though!!  Sam and Abby had art classes this morning - their classes were on 'comic book art' and they both seemed to really enjoy it!!  They both came home with wonderful cartoons and comics they had written and drawn!!

I filled more places in my art classes this afternoon and have had some ideas for new classes for the new year :)

I was thrilled to see that a very talented and inspiring artist from Toronto art college had 'liked' my art work on Facebook!!  How flattering :)  That really made my day :)

This is so true...I can FEEL it :)
