Friday fill-ins....

here we go! 

1. As I neared the house I got excited to be able to check for a message from him.

2. Magazines articles is what I'm reading right now. It's all I have time for!!

3. I didn't start out this way, I was eager to head out tonight, but now I'm exhausted and glad to be home.

4. I'm really hungry to tell the truth. 

5. The best way to get over a fear is to just DO IT.

6. This is the reason I am now the person I am...because I just decided not to roll over and give in to my fears, but just get out there and do the things I wanted to do and wanted to do for my children....and I got over any fears I had!

7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to relaxing, and an early night...and hearing from a certain someone even though he's at WEM tonight, tomorrow my plans include teaching a class, then heading to Whyte Ave and then maybe Maisies Christmas House and Sunday, I want to take the kids to the Christmas concert and see what else we have time for!

Climbing class....

Sam and Abby had climbing class this morning.  While they were there, Laurence and I headed to Timmy's for a coffee.  

After class we headed downtown to Canada Place to get Lauries SIN card...it only took about 30 minutes in all, so while he was waiting, the rest of us had a snack downstairs.  

I loved that all the trees were decorated in red and silver to match the Canadian flag:

After Laurence had his SIN number we headed over to the Reuse Centre and picked up some supplies for my sculpture class that starts in January.  Then we headed home and the children are spending the evening decorating their tree.  We were supposed to head to Whyte Ave for the evening but everyone is so tired that we are going to do that tomorrow night instead.

Christmas tree....

Mother and Daughter class :)

This is Abigail with the journal she is making for me as part of the online class we are taking together.  I am making one for her too :)  It is a lovely class :)  Sam didn't want to do it with us.  I think Abby was quite pleased that he didn't - as she is happy it is something especially for the two of us.... :)  

Skating with friends....

After swimming, Sam wanted to spend his pocket money, and while he was choosing what to buy, I spotted some friends of ours sat at a table.  I went to say hello and we sat and chatted for a while - they were spending the afternoon skating, and so Abby and Sam asked if we could stay and join them.  I figured it would be fine as they had wanted to skate for soooo long and we hadn't seen these friends for several weeks!! 

We rented some skates and off they went to skate for the rest of the afternoon :)  Luckily I had left money for Susannah at home just in case we were late - as she was off to the movies with a school friend tonight!  

We have made plans to meet up for skating again next week so my two are very excited about that!!

It was a great afternoon of fun. friends and activity!!!

Swimming day....

This afternoon we headed to the pool for our weekly swim.  

Abigail swims like a little fish now.....and Sam's swimming is improving so much!  He loves jumping in off the side quite far and then swimming back to the edge - and he refuses to wear a lifejacket unless I make him - so I only make him now when the waves are on and we go in the whirlpool - because he has a habit of being too adventurous lol!!

stop motion animation...

Sam spent this morning working on his Lego world he's been creating - and then he sat for a long while with my phone and used the app I have to create a stop motion animation with the little Lego people in his world.

It was great to see his concentration and how he learned from his mistakes and improved his techniques.  

It was a good morning!

Cookie baking and decorating!!!

A friend who lives next door came and spent the afternoon with us today...they had a blast together - playing hide and seek, chase and all kinds of games, teaching each other baton twirling, playing board games and generally hanging out!  

They also made cookies and decorated them - gingerbread and sugar cookies!!

Mmmmm the house smelled soooo good!

K stayed for dinner - wholewheat spaghetti and spinach in a roasted garlic sauce, with garlic bread and mixed greens salad!!  It was yummy  :)  

Now the little ones are showered and ready for bed and I'm going to read them some Christmasy stories!!

Another fun December day is done at our house!!  Hope you are having a fabulous December where you are too!!

There was obviously something in the back field she could see....we couldn't see anything but Rosie wouldn't come away from the railings and sat there watching for a long while....occasionally barking to let them know she was there :)

The other night I went in to check on Abby before I went to bed.  She had fallen asleep in her froggy blanket that has the frog hood.  It was soooo funny because it looked as though there was a giant frog in her bed!! We had just seen the new Muppets movie, so this was totally funny to me :)  I couldn't resist snapping a picture!!

Her picture glows dark pink at night because she has pink walls and a flower nightlight that also glows pink :)
