Crabapple jelly............

We set to work on some crabapple jelly this evening..........the house smells gorgeous....like cinnamon and apple sauce :) yum :) Susie helped me prep the apples and they are boiling away right now....................even if it doesn't work I will be happy to have had my home filled with this Autumnal smell :)

Only a few left.....................................

There are probably only a few really warm weekends left this year, so we made the most of this one and have been outside for most of the day..............including lighting a fire in the fire pit and cooking jacket potatoes (baked potatoes) in the embers of the fire..........we also ate outside for the last time (probably)....................oh and this is Sams stylish outfit this afternoon...what a dude ;)

Sams towers.............

My violent little boy loves to build towers and then smack them REALLY hard so that the blocks go flying everywhere!!! He really is so very violent...he loves hitting things.....especially with sticks.....and especially if its his siblings........

Not good really but sometimes its so funny!

I blame his Father......in fact I blame his father for anything I see in Sam that isn't great lol! Well, it can't be from me.......can it??????

I'm all sweetness and light :)

Friday says goodbye.................

Such a pretty sky last night.........

My New 'Do..............

I got the urge yesterday to have all my hair chopped off. Thankfully Erin (my wonderful hairdresser from Regis) could fit me in before she shot off for a wedding.....so I went into town today and now feel much lighter and happier :) and she only charged me $20!!!!! Crazy girl!

I know I have a reader (or a few) in Lancaster Park...which is where Erin lives......and she says she met someone at playgroup there who knows me from LP :) So if thats you then get Erin to cut your hair....she's FAB!!! And she is so much fun too......we don't stop talking and laughing.......

So yep this is the new me ready for a new school year :) now if I can get my home ready for the new school year we will be all set! I just have to get back outside and help fill more of the dumpster....although its pretty full already.....we've done a great job :)

Sandcastle building competition..........

The sandcastle building contest was a wonderful old fashioned style competition for the children..........it was lovely seeing all the children busy working together to build a castle using the supplies they had........they were all so creative!

Penny Carnival...

We were invited to a potluck lunch today with some unschooling earth-based religion friends of ours................but today was also the day of the annual Penny Carnival in the park......the Alliance Church in Sherwood Park puts on parties every summer overa few days...music, dancing crafts, games, snacks etc etc......then on the last day they have a big penny carnival. We have been a few times over the past few years................and its always fun.

I wasn't sure what the children would want to do so I asked them to choose....they chose the penny carnival. As much as the pot luck would have been fun, I was secretly pleased because my children are getting older and it won't be long before they are too old to enjoy the penny carnival....

So this morning Chris babysat for Sam while I headed into town to Broadmoor Lake........we were expecting to be by ourselves at the park (which is fine) but when we arrived we saw Lorraine and a few other people we knew, so we all joined up together and had one of the picnic tables....

It was a really fun morning.......the penny carnivals are great and all free.......face painting, crafts, bubble blowing, hula hooping, music, free popcorn and free cotton candy......they also did a sandcastle building contest and Laurence and Susie linked up with some of the other children in our group and they WON!!!!!

Lorraine shared her Nanaimo bars with me and best of all I got to cuddle with the cutest cuddliest, sweetest little baby boy ever (apart from my own of course lol)......

After the penny carnival we headed to Sobeys and then stopped off at a yard sale and got a ton of things (that we probably don't need lol) and the kids have been playing with their 'finds' ever since!

The quads should arrive any minute now...as you can imagine Laurie is glued to the window very excited! And Lloyd is on his way home from work :)

The weekend starts here and its another HOT one to enjoy :)

Have a great weekend everyone :) make the most of one of the last few warm weekends of the summer...........we noticed on the way home that a LOT of trees are turning yellow! And the geese are on the move too.....................
