Business steps.................

Today I got my business card sample :) I am quite pleased with it although I think next time I will go for a full colour picture instead of trying to do a watermark picture..............oh and I also got paid by cheque for the first time and it was soooooo nice to see my business name on a cheque :)

Two small steps into business........oh and my website is hosted so it now says 'website under construction' woohoo :)

Before I forget...................

The rest of Wednesday!!! So it was date night ..........but it wasn't the ordinary date night lol.....so we headed to the mall for Lloyds hair cut, and then bought some new jeans and pants (trousers) for Chris for work and just for every day too....and some outfits for Sam now its getting colder........

Then we had to decide where to eat sooooo we SPLURGED!!!!!! Lol yep big spenders that we are ;) we went to Alberts!!!! or Fat Alberts as I call it ;) woohoo we sure know how to live the glam life ;) but it was convenient and quick so thats fine.......

The waitress took our order...I ordered the turkey dinner and she aksed if I'd like the seniors deal!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WTF?????? How old do I like???? GEEZ my roots need doing ;)

Actually they offer it to everyone...its smaller and cheaper so I figured it would suit WW better.....well, when it arrived it was creamed potato (in case I can't chew) and about one stem of cauliflower over cooked and diced up (in case I can't chew) and turkey in gravy diced small (in case I can't chew)........................

So I guess I know where to go when we really are seniors and have dentures and CAN'T CHEW!!!!! lol!

Lets just say its not quite what I think of when I think of a turkey dinner!!!!

We spent the whole time laughing anyway as usual...I managed to get a tiny crumb on my top and of course Lloyd finds it hilarious that I am like his Mom and spill food on myself all the time.....so as a joke he took a whole strip of bacon and attached it to the front of his shirt saying that that is how I normally look in a restaurant!

I love that he makes me laugh so much........

Still, next week I DON'T think we will be going back to Alberts ;)

Thursday.......

I had a photo shoot this morning....a Mom and her two youngest children.....for Fall pictures and studio shots.....the little boy was very cute but such a SAM lol...ie he reeeeaally wasn't interested in having his picture taken!!! ;) He must be the first child I have met not willing to be bribed by chocolate! So most of the indoor shots were of his 5 month old baby sister who of course was more than happy to have us coo over her for pictures!!! And then we headed outside to see the chickens and get some Fall pictures...and this is where the little boy came into his own and we got great shots of him too...I was so worried I would have filled two cards up and not have any good pictures but I ahve to say I am THRILLED with some of them!!! They are all done and on CD now so will be off to the client tomorrow...and she agreed that I can add some to my portfolio :) So the last two shoots have been so FAB but I can't show them off here!

They even bought a dog treat for Amber!!! :)

The house was such a mess this morning when I woke up but my FAB children helped me get it all clean and tidy before the client arrived! They were a great help because I have been fighting a migraine since yesterday lunchtime......so doing anything was an effort....but I got through the shoot, edited the pictures, put everything to CD and then collapsed in the bath for half an hour to try and shift the pain...I do NOT want to take an imitrex if I can help it!

It was a good mail day today.......I got a BIG parcel from NASA with photographs, things to make, posters, educational booklets and guides on the solar system etc......books on the inside of the space shuttle and the International Space Station..............very cool!!

Zucchini to cook so I have to go!

Electric car garage......................

Here is the car Laurie made in his workshop today....he then wanted to have a go at making ramps etc...it builds up speed fast but Laurie says it needs 'tweaking'..................he said the workshop was just brilliant :) Well worth the $7 it cost!!! How fab is that? $7. for a workshop and he gets to bring the car home!!!!

Science Centre fun..............

My Mum phoned this morning to check her parcel had arrived....I had called and thenked her for the first one but the second one I posted about in my blog assuming she would read it...she missed that post! I couldn't chat for long though as we had tp head out not long after she called...............

We spent the day at the Telus World of Science............the children each had a homeschoolers workshop to take part in. Abigail did the 'Body Basics' class which she loved.......Susannah did 'Rocks and Minerals', Laurence did 'Electric Car Garage' and Chris did 'Forensics Lab'........

Lauries workshop was very cool and included a car to bring home that is battery powered.

While the children were in their workshops I bought a few birthday gifts for Laurie in the store, chatted with the other homeschooling Moms that I knew, met a few new ones which is always nice and played with Sam in the childrens section with the blocks and water tables....he had a blast!!! I always make sure to take a spare change of clothes for him because he always ends up soaked from the water tables!

Oh just after we arrived I was in the Body section and a lady came up to me to say hi!!! It was DEBBIE!!! (Hi Debbie!!!) from the 'A Step at a Time' blog.........it was so nice to meet her finally after having chatted via email and blog :) And her blog is one of the ones I have yet to add to my list on the right....I have several that I keep meaning to add to my links 'when I have time' sorry to all those I have promised...I will find time soon!

It was lovely walking around the science centre and seeing so many people I know :) and it was lovely and quiet there today...us homeschoolers practically ahd the place to ourselves :)

We got home around 3:30pm and Lloyd just phoned to say he is on his way home.........and that my business cards are not ready because of issues with them.......who would have thought it would be so difficult to get them right.....just because I want a watermark of a photograph on them!!!!

So all in all a good day :) and its not over yet :)

'home'schooling............

When is homeschooling no longer 'home' schooling? If you are out every day driving to classes and organized activities and field trips...then is that still homeschooling?

Shouldn't there be more 'home' in 'homeschooling?????

Tuesday...................

The weather couldn't be more different than yesterday! Yesterday was warm and sunny with blue skies and just perfect for a Fall walk.................today feels like winter. It is 2c outside and has been snowing/ sleeting for much of the morning.................we drove Chris in to work at the museum for 10am and then we went to the homeschool group.......it was at a recreation centre today because we lost our normal home and they are still on the search for another.....the room was ok...small but not many came along thankfully........we were discussing alternative locations etc when the lady who is hunting for somewhere came in......and another lady whispered to me to 'change the subject'.....I thought that was weird.....Its just Cheryl!!!! And all we were talking about was the old FR Haythorne buidling and what CHAMPS was.......as I hadn't a clue!!!! I can't see Cheryl minding us talking about it...or anything lol!

I guess emotions are running high at the group...everyone is upset and sad that we don't have a home right now and today I learnt so many things about the politics in this the worlds largest hamlet!!! It was an interesting morning......that aside, it was nice to see everyone and we signed up for the talent show at Christmas....

Sam was miserable at the group...I don't know if he is getting ill or if he was just very tired from yesterdays walk...........but he cried and was clingy......we decided to come straight home after the group...so after delivering 2 CD's of photographs to clients we came home........

There is no dance class for the girls tonight.......due to Thanksgiving...I'm really glad for that! I am exhausted and it will be nice to relax........in fact we are having our Thanksgiving dinner tonight because we didn't have time yesterday.......so we are having the big roast dinner and then pie and then watching the movie we had planned to watch last night.......RV ( I hear there is a weird homeschooling family in it! lol)

I heard back from the family that I did the photo shoot of on Sunday.......

The one of **** lying in the leaves made my eyes water. We couldn't be
happier. I can't wait to get the cd and get some printed and hang them on
my wall asap. They are going to look SO good.
