Hhhmmmmmm....

news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/africa/4748292.stm

Well, I hope they are very happy together......this marriage probably has just as much chance as any other after all ;)

Todays 'work'...

A worked on several pages in her Grade 1 Canadian Math book....she worked on number patterns....before, between, after.....more and less and then filled in a 100 grid.

We read Robert Frosts poem 'Stopping By A Woods on a Snowy Evening'...and also Snow Angels by Sonja Lamut. We also read Franklin and the Tooth Fairy and the first chapter of Dorothy Edwards book 'When My Naughty Little Sister Was Good'.

This afternoon Abigail used the computer for a while - mainly Webkinz where she played various word games to earn 'cash'...she's saving up to buy her horse a bed :)

She coloured a snowman picture to go along with our snowy theme today....played playdoh a little with Sam and helped with a few chores.

First thing this morning we sat on the bed and played some card games - Rummy and Crazy 8's.......this is her favourite activity right now - card games of any kind!

A - Z of me....

My friend Michelle over in England is taking part in a challenge over at one of my FAVOURITE websites 'Its a Creative World'......you should all pop over to her blog Crafty Banshee and check out her work :) I think its great....

last year I started the challenge of altering a pack of cards into 52 cards about me......I forget what the challenge was called....well I ahve all the challenges written down but I think I only did about three....

I'm sure Michelle is a lot more likely to stick with it and get the challenge done though and I'm looking forward to following the progress!

I keep meaning to add Its a Creative World to my links list - a job for later me thinks!

Tuesday......

High winds blew in from the North last night - although the temperature didn't drop too much, the windchill was COLD.......we were awake quite a bit listening to the wind blow around the house - I love hearing that :) Could have done with more sleep though - Lloyd woke me by phone at 6:30am as I was supposed to take Chris to school for 7am for basketball practice.......turns out he got a ride so I could go back to bed :)

We were planning on going ice skating today but as we were all tired and the roads first thing were fairly crappy, we decided to switch the day - so we stayed home - and stayed snuggled in bed...watched a little tv....(a show about the Rockies and how the first artists and photographers introduced their splendour to the world!) and we played Crazy 8's and Rummy.....read some books.....(including Robert Frosts poem about winter - Stopping By Woods on a Snowy Evening) and Abigail read a story to me entitled Monster Haircut.

I did some more sewing - hearts for my Valentine tree.....

Sam sat and enjoyed the stories.....he played with his cars and bricks and watched his favourite show Frannys Feet.

Abigail worked on her Grade one math book - she did 6 pages....mainly on number patterns - trying to figure out which number is missing...which one comes before, in between and after etc etc.....then she had to fill in a number grid with numbers 0 - 100.

Lloyd is meeting Dave for lunch in Sherwood Park. I think he misses him now they don't work together.

Maybe I'll make some emergency chocolate cake....or fudge brownies.....I stocked up with baking goods at Costco last night...

well, time for lunch and then Abigail can use Webkinz for a while.......maybe I'll head down to the treadmill....maybe I'll sew......maybe I'll bake!

Going potty!!!!

I forgot to post yesterday - Sam used the potty several times - even pooped in it :) So far so good today too :)

Lloyd said he was surprised I didn't take a picture of the poop to blog! I burst out laughing because a part of me did consider it ;)

Other things I meant to blog about over the last week. I saw on the View last week that Rhinos get 30 days of foreplay!!! Lucky Rhino's!!! Why I've blogged that in a post about potty training I ahve no idea lol but I guess this is more of a catch up post!

Oh and the Air Canada problems last week - whe the plane had to make an emergency landing.....that just made me think again about that little five year old girl who was flying unaccompanied with West Jet....what if this had been her flight? What if her plane had plummeted several thousand feet and had to land at an airport half way between her parents......100s/ 1000's of miles from her parents.....

Imagine being one of those parents? Your child is in a city 100's of miles from you - you can't get to her - she's terrified because she thought the plane was going to crash - all the adults around her were scared too......the cabin crew were injured.....and yet you know she has to get on another plane to fly to her other parent and you can't comfort her.........

Other things on my mind this week? Its almost Roll Up The Rim to Win time........

Oh and FAB news.....our permit applications are in!!! AND they have a start date of April 1st :) We thought they'd start in mid May but no - April First they break ground WOOHOO!!!!!!

Practice makes perfect...

Lloyd practices his snow removal with his new toy.....

Self portrait...

One of the crafts we did today was drawing around A and then letting her fill in the 'body' with clothes and facial features etc - she worked really hard as this was a BIG picture to colour :)

We spent the morning doing math (money) and A finished another workbook. In the afternoon we did various crafts that we found while cleaning out the craft cupboards......and we also went out for a walk...I had the children running for a while too.

Monday...

Busy busy day......the morning was spent doing 'school work' with Abigail....mainly math - working on money. She finished one of the math workbooks she got for Christmas! So we filled out the certificate of achievement that came with the book.

I started work on some projects for Valentines Day....using felt and buttons :)

We cleaned out the craft cupboards ( we have three craft cupboards in the kitchen - full of all kinds of craft supplies for the kids...from glue and glitter to candle making kits, volcano kits, paper plates, beads, foam shapes, feathers etc etc.....while we sorted it all out, Sam played with the building straws...and the two of them sat at the table and drew on the Magic Wonder paper or whatever its called......it's black and the pens make the colours show up.....and then they used the scratch art supplies to colour some butterflies.....

Oh and then we found a HUGE rtoll of paper and they took turns to let me draw around them on the paper....

After lunch we went for a walk and then when the kids got home from school I went for a run....more about that on my running blog.

What else? I soaked in the bath for a while and read.....did some laundry, cleaning.....fun fun fun!

Lloyd got home and we went in to town. We stopped at Timmys for supper - I had the new Tuscan Vegetable Soup with a wholegarin bun - yummy soup!!! TRy it!!! Really healthy - 1.5g of fat only! and 5g of fibre.....which is a good thing as I finished off with a Honey Cruller donut ;)

After that we went to Costco to get the groceries......bloody store was empty of stock! Luckily it was also empty of people - I love going on Monday nights - so quiet! I picked up a book - the one about Jane Austens Memoirs...but I put it back...I have so many to read right now....

Came home and I separated all the meat - what a gross job that is.....We buy massive packs of minced beef and chicken and then I separate them into smaller packs to freeze...but grabbing handfuls of minced beef makes me feel sick!

Not a very exciting day but we seemed to do a lot and so thats a good thing!

I have videos to post!

Almost ten years old! Susie was outside so much today enjoying the weather..and has spent the evening playing with Sam with his marble run! She's a great big sister!

Crispy bacon anyone??????

Awwww only joking Charlie!

Split personality!!!

Sunday morning visitor....

Lloyd woke me this morning to say there was a deer in our back yard...he brought the camera up for me and we stood in Sams bedroom and took pictures from the window. When we have our new bedroom built over the garage, we will have a deck overlooking the rear of our land.....that will be so nice as we get so many more animals that side - and that is also the best side to view the northern lights....

Speed demon!

Sam just LOVES to sled now....especially on his own!! It has been so lovely and warm out that we have been making the most of it :) I hope you have all been outside enjoying this gorgeous weather :) I hope it stays like this for next weekend so we can enjoy warm temperatures at the Ice on Whyte festival!!!

Susie's turn!!!
