Transformers...robots in disguise!!!!

Lloyd has taken all the children (except Chris who is working and has already seen it) to the cinema to see the second Transformers movie this afternoon. He just emailed me this picture of Sam with his bag of popcorn which is almost as big as he is!!! :)

I am going to the movie next week with a few of them as I want to see the movie Up!! :) It is said to be one of the best movies EVER with a really great message and I can't wait to see it!! :)

I spent this morning at Tess's house as her DH Ryan had to go out, and she didn't want to be alone on the morning after her surgery, so I got to go visit with her for a while :) That was nice :) Tess is doing great and got a phone call from the hospital to say she was allowed to shower today which made her feel MUCH better which is good :) I know that always makes me feel much better too! I got to pick up the new Stampin Up catalogue too and can't wait to start the new Stamping Group in August!! :) There are some gorgeous things in the new catalogue!!! :) Maybe I should have a Summer party with drinks on the deck and a Stampin Up party - I just wanted to wait for my kitchen to be finished first :( and the panels still are not here :( July 21st they are saying.....

Anyway for the first day in a VERY long day I have some peace and quiet. Derrick is working downstairs in the basement and I am staying upstairs so I can't hear his radio and I am enjoying some peace and quiet - no tv or radio or anything :) No people - no children, no ANYONE!!!!! :) Just ME!!!

The treehouse - a work in progress...

Here is the treehouse that Lloyd is building in one of our wooded areas...it is a work in progress as the walls aren't up yet. When it is finished it will have four walls, a roof, a door, three windows (as seen). A ladder (the one seen is temporary). It will have a rope swing hanging from it. It will be completely shingled in cedar shingles (only because we have so many left over from when our roof was done) and we plan to make a clearing in the middle of the wooded area outside of the treehouse for the kids to play - but up high, level with the treehouse it will remain all 'treed'. It's actually lovely being up there amongst the trees! Lloyd was trying to explain how some of the fixing bits aren't attached yet although it is attached to the trees already and is safe but it will have extra V shaped bits or something.....but it's all beyond me. It's very cool that in Summer when the leaves are out you can't see it from the house so the kids can be all hidden away from us and because it will be weather-tight they will be able to sleep in it right through until the Fall....

Lloyd is just a little sad that the weather has been so bad the last day or two that he hasn't been able to get out there much and do anything - he can do some things in the work shop but he is excited about this project and wants to be out there working on it!

My 7.8.9. 10:11:12 pictures

So at 11 minutes past 10pm and 12 seconds last night (the 7th month and 8th day of the 9th year), I was journaling on a scrapbook page of the London Eye. I was sat at the island beside Lloyd who was doing some company accounts work on the laptop.

Nothing exciting but thats what we were up to :)

If you missed this magical moment and forgot to snap it (lol) then next month you get another chance when you can do it on the British version - as they write the date a different way 7.8.9 (7th day of the 8th month of the 9th year) - so you can do it all over again - and I will do it all over again then too hahahahahaha :)

Hahahaha Tess you may be ocd about some things but I'm ocd about my blog and taking pictures and stuff like that ;) Yep I took 295 pictures of Sam playing in the puddles the other day. And my computer wouldn't let me upload any more because I had 10,000 pictures in trash and had to delete them first ;) That doesn't include the 4,000 I have in iphoto still to be sorted OR the ones I have already sorted and in folders.....I'd say I take at least 40 or 50 a day minumum....probably much more most days....

We all have our obsessions ;)

And more clever ravens and crows :)

This includes talk about hoarding food, which is exactly what our 'Alfie' does :)

Smart crows :)

Rose Breasted Grosbeak...

A new visitor to our garden......

Meet Alfie...

This is Alfie...our resident Crow....(actually, probably one of a few we have, but because we think we have two pairs and they all look the same pretty much, we call them all 'Alfie'....) We have a crows nest in our side wood by the road and one pair flies there straight from the bird feeder - and regularly fights off the bird of prey that has also nested near our house this year (although on our neighbours land). The bird of prey has been trying to get at the nest over recent weeks. Anyway, we call the crow Alfie....it's a very well fed crow :) Today it ate a whole box of date scones and half a melon :) It can fly off with a whole scone in its mouth - it must hoard it all in its nest because a minute later it is back for more!!! It just clears the table FAST!!!

If I don't put food out for it then it does regular sweeps of the area throughout the day to see if I HAVE put food out for it......

Most people don't like crows but I actually think Alfie is quite a charmer and a real character - and VERY clever!!! :)

Remind me to search on youtube for the crows cracking nuts video!!!

Abigail rides again....

Abigail is in Summer Camp this way - it's just a day camp with our local community league, but I booked her in to this week because the field trip for the week was HORSE RIDING!!! So today she got to spend the whole day RIDING!!!! She was soooooo happy! She was especially happy that she was put in to the OLDER group and not the younger group that goes tomorrow!

They got to play 'Red Light - Green Light', they got to help put the tack on the horses, and they were with the horses for almost 5 hours!!!

This afternoon she is complaining that her legs hurt hahahaha I suggested a bath because I told her that it's her butt and leg muscles :) I told her she may ache more tomorrow!!!

She was smiling soooooo much when we picked her up and acting all grown up as if she got five years older in just one day!!! Like she knew all about horse riding in just one day - too funny!

Oh Abby Banana, I'm so glad you had so much fun!!! :)

Sugar cube walls...

Sam and Susie building walls and towers with sugar cubes and icing......and of course Sam couldn't resist eating some of his. We tested them at the end to see whose was the strongest and stayed together when lifted (Sam refused to build his in the way we showed him (lol) and of course his fell apart...Susannahs stayed together!!! Sam was still very happy though as that meant there was more to eat.....good job we have lots of land to run around and burn off that sugar high on :)

7-8-9 10:11:12

Today (at least in North America) the date is 7-8-9. So there is a thing going around blogdom asking you to take a picture at 10:11:12 (am or pm) and share it on your blog.

I didn't take one this morning (well, I MAY have as I was snapping away with my camera all morning lol but I wasn't watching the clock) so I plan to take mine tonight.

So if you remember and have a blog or facebook page then take a picture at 11 minutes and 12 seconds past 10pm tonight and then post it on your blog or facebook page!! Leave a comment here with a link and we can all go and see it!!! :) I'll add my piccy later too!!!

I'm sure there is an official site to join up for this (click on the Just Us bloggy link on the right) but I can't be bothered - I'm just doing it for fun here on my blog......

Have fun!!

Beautiful U R
