Wednesday tag :)
1. What is one thing on your bucket list? If you don't have a bucket list let's pretend you do. To go to Japan and see the Cherry Blossoms in the Springtime :)
2. What makes a good dad? someone who is actively involved, interested, fun and provides love consistency and security.
3. Are you afraid of insects? Which ones? mosquitoes drive me nuts - their noise and the fact they HURT and ITCH!! I'm not afraid of any though....
4. We're barbecuing...what's on the grill at your house? we haven't grilled yet this year....but when we do, we have corn, potatoes, burgers, mushroom kebabs....
5. Do you believe that playing is more important than winning? Most definitely but it's frustrating when the person you are playing doesn't feel that way. I'm not in to competitive sports...they don't interest me at all...I'd much rather just go and have fun as a family swimming or whatever than have the kids in competitive sports that an effect their self esteem....it either leaves them feeling like crap or makes them arrogant.
6. Do you tan? Use self tanners? Visit tanning salons? See your dermatologist at least once a year? I tan and visit the tanning salon....yes I know it's not good for the skin but mentally it is VERY good for me...it makes me feel sooooo relaxed, boosts my self esteem because I look so much better with a bit of colour....
7. Five years ago I would never imagine that today I would be going through a bitter divorce, be living apart from Lloyd, that he'd hate me and be playing such nasty and vindictive games with the children :(
8. Insert your own random thought here. Why am I having to have my heating on in JUNE??????

Stood up
After a long day out last week I got the children bathed and showered and ready for their dad to collect them and take them to Chris's Grade 12 award Ceremony. Unfortunately at the last minute he changed his mind and decided not to take them :( They were very disappointed :(
For Today......
Outside My Window... It is raining....the raindrops are running down the window and I have been awake since 6:20am listening to it. It is grey outside but my Daisies have started to flower, so they believe that Summer is here even if nothing else does!! :)
I am thinking...about so many things. Had an interesting talk with Darren last night about my house...and now I'm back to square one not knowing what to do about it :( Bloody house!!! Bloody decisions!!! F*CK!!! It's not like it's a minor decision either - it's like a MILLION DOLLAR decision :(
I am thankful for...the choices I have to make.....the position I am in...that my concerns are the concerns I have and although they are stressful, I am very fortunate to be in the position I am in. I know that eventually this legal case will be sorted out and I will be fine. Things could be so much worse. Many people going through divorce are not as lucky as I am.
From the kitchen...delicious corn on the cob for supper last night.....although it was soooooooo MESSY to eat...we were all dribbling it down our chins and it was so funny....but YUMMY!!!! :)
I am wearing...a pj top and underwear....
I am creating...a journal for SR2, my regular art journal....
I am going...swimming today. Yay!!!
I am reading...The Help by Kathryn Stockett for Book Group, but I haven't picked it up much this week because of my homework for SR2
I am hoping...for some dry weather so I can get the grass cut in the next few days.
I am hearing... The rain outside, birds chirping....my Robins I think...and Sams funny sleepy noises beside me..
Around the house...we have changed the way the chores are done and it seems to work much better. Instead of changing it twice a day, it changes weekly. So each child has the same chore for a whole week. That way they have no excuse for not knowing what their chore is. It changes on a Monday morning and on a Sunday they have to make sure they do their chore FULLY so it is all up to date for the new person to start the next day.
One of my favorite things...My SR group.
A Few Plans For The Rest Of The Week...swimming, library, a craft day at Joannes tomorrow, farmers market if its dry, Homeschool park day, Museum, Education Station,

My snuggle bunny...
Sam told me the other day that he thinks he will still be coming in during the night to sleep in my bed when he is 12.....sigh....
Mind you I have to admit I love our morning cuddles :) He's my hot water bottle too - so warm and cuddly :) and I love watching him sleep :)
I don't even hear him come in during the night....I just wake up in the morning and he's there! lol!

Ten questions for Wednesday
{one} how many times have you been a bridesmaid/maid of honor? Never
{two} what’s the last thing you do before you fall asleep at night? drink water, check the time, check the alarm is on.
{three} you just won your dream vacation, all expenses paid. where are you going? Japan in Springtime to see the Cherry blossoms.
{four} what is your favorite outdoor activity? Swimming in an outdoor pool.
{five} as a child, what did you want to “be when you grew up”? did you end up there? educational psychologist. kind of lol....but instead I am homeschooling my children and an advocate for choice in education.
{six} what are 3 things your dream home would have that you don’t currently have? a swimming pool, luxury bathroom with bath height window overlooking my land....fireplace in my bedroom with reading nook.
{seven} what’s for dinner tonight? something at the farmers market...
{eight} if someone stopped by your house unannounced on a typical Saturday night, what would they find you doing? I either wouldn't be home OR maybe the kids would have a friend here staying over and we'd be watching a movie...or I'd be art journaling or generally hanging out.
{nine} what’s your average monthly water bill? I don't have a water bill really as we have a well - but I do buy bottled water....no idea how much I spend on that a month....
{ten} what do you do to relax? art journal, create mixed media art, go on facebook or blog, read, soak in the bath, take Rosie for a walk...watch the birds/ sit on the porch...hang out with the children or friends...
For today:
Outside My Window... It is dark...and silent.
I am thinking...I should really go to sleep but I haven't updated my blog for sooo long. I hope the last two quads sell this week. A few people are interested and have asked to come and look at them...I am hopeful. So far no one has come and looked at anything and NOT bought it...so lets hope the same goes for these last two.
I am thankful for...The lady at John Deere NOT thinking I was completely insane after I practically had a breakdown in the store and told her my entire lifestory and told her I wanted to ram the bloody tractor up my ex husbands ass!! I am thankful that she had a Mom who had gone through something similar and she could totally relate. Mix PMS with the fact that my Ex has been a total WANKER today and it doesn't make me very happy....
From the kitchen...Susannah has decided she wants to be a chef...so she is cooking as much as possible...which is fine by me...Yesterday I prepped the supper before I went out and then left her to do whatever she wanted to go with it....
I am wearing...it's midnight and I'm in bed - so my typical sleepwear.
I am creating...art journaling mainly....especially art techniques from the She Had Three Hearts class that I took recently - by Christy Tomlinson!!! LOVED that class - thank you sooooo much Kathy for treating me to it! I learned soooo much and had so much fun teaching the techniques to my children too! I am now working through Soul Restoration 2 which started TODAY!! And I love already!! Still can't believe I am booked in to Brave Girls Camp!!
I am going...to Fort Ed on Saturday...looking forward to that :) Child free which is something I've always wanted to do!!
I am reading...The Help by Kathryn Stockett - the first book for the book group I have joined. We are meeting for the first time mid July to discuss it - I'm really looking forward to that! I've always wanted to be in a book group! I'm pleased to hear they have made a movie of this book too - it will be interesting to see that too - I wonder if I can persuade a few of the group members to come and see it with me!
I am hoping...those quads sell...I would really like them gone!! I am hoping these bugs we have here finally go this week and we are all finally healthy!! I am hoping this dull weather goes and the heat and sun is back for good!! I am hoping the battery is easy to put in the tractor!!
I am hearing... a mosquito somewhere in the room. Silence in the house.
Around the house...The house is clean and tidy apart from a few things - I need to wash the windows. The main floor needs dusting and I have some laundry to do. Tonight I decluttered and sorted all the homeschool drawers and got rid of a lot of things we no longer need...work books and sheets we will never use, old pictures, old unit studies, old craft supplies that are no good....
One of my favorite things...all the dandelions outside - when they are sunshiny yellow and so bright and cheery - AND when they turn to clocks and look so feathery and pretty and like a carpet of wishes :)
A Few Plans For The Rest Of The Week...a visit to the COW bus (classroom on wheels), library homeschool session on their summer reading program, farmers market...a homeschool park day, appointment with my hair stylist Amber. Awards ceremony to see Chris get his scholarship award. Parks and Rec open house for homeschoolers at the community centre....Fort Edmonton with friends, movies to see Pirates of the Caribbean with friends...and on Sunday???? COLLAPSE WITH EXHAUSTION hahahaha ;) and then hopefully find the energy to get to the antiques mall as I need a few old photographs for a project...

London
This picture of Picadilly Circus in London hangs in one of the tanning bed rooms at the tanning salon I go to :) I soooo hope that there are coupons for tanning in the coupon book again in the Fall! I loved the treat of tanning through the cold months - it gave me such a lift.
New Asian Village
Last night I went out for supper with some friends that I don't see too often...in fact I kind of gatecrashed Monique and Tara's supper. I saw them talking about Indian food on Tara's facebook wall and jumped at the chance of going out for Indian food too :) Lloyd and I used to go almost weekly to A Taste of India...but now I don't get to go too often as so many people I know don't like spicy foods. Susannah is one of the few people I can tempt to go there...and sometimes Val or Samantha!!
So yes, I invited myself along to supper :) And Monique invited Jodie, and it was really great to see them all. It was such a fun meal - so many laughs - I really hope the people at the table next to ours couldn't hear our conversations!! Although maybe we were the highlight of their day!! Hahaha :)
Thank you everyone for not minding too much that I pushed in on your night out :) It was a lot of fun and great to see you all!!

Friday Fill-ins
1. Hey! How can it be June already???? This year is going waaay too fast!!
2. I'm not sure anything they said ever had a kernel of truth.
3. Eat one arrowroot cookie and I eat the whole packet...sigh....
4. I love him soooo much but he's definitely the child born in the middle.
5. First thing to note: procrastination does not make me feel good in the long term. Getting things crossed off my to-do list makes me feel sooo much better.
6. Facebook is a terrible distraction.
7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to doing my little part in helping a friend going through a difficult time, then having supper and watching a movie with the kids before an early night with my book :) , tomorrow my plans include going to the New Sarepta parade with Val then in the evening going to the movies with a group of women from a Meet-up group I've joined!! and Sunday, I want to see what the day brings and what the children feel like doing - but hope to get to the dog park with Rosie at least!

Ten question tag....
{one} do you believe in ghosts? Yes, I lived in a haunted house in England, built in 1901, and experienced a few things...and so yes I DO believe in ghosts but do not find them frightening. THe ones in my house were comforting and NOT frightening.
{two} are you more of a talker or more of a listener? I can listen and support when necessary but in the last year I have talked and talked and talked!!! lol....It has really helped me work through things to talk it out and VENT!! :)
{three} would you rather get up early or sleep late? I would rather get up early BUT I don't, I am not good at mornings - instead I stay up late and sleep late in the mornings!!
{four} if you could instantly become an expert at one type of dance, what type would you choose? Sexy salsa or dirty dancing style dancing!! :)
{five} what's your favorite drink? I like water, I love Bellini's, I drink diet pepsi when I'm in a restaurant and not drinking alcohol.
{six} if your house caught fire and you could only grab three things, what would they be? I think I would try and grab my Timeline that I created as part of my Soul Restoration class. The kids special teddies from when they were babies and my Susie doll from when I was little.
{seven} if you could only visit one restaurant for the next five years, which would it be? Joeys South
{eight} who inspires you the most? Melody Ross
{nine} if you had your own talk show, who would your first three guests be? Melody Ross, Christy Tomlinson, Kara Haupt :)
{ten} sneakers or sandals? Sandals
