Attitude of Gratitude!!!

November is 'Attitude of Gratitude' month.

Today I am grateful for:

The fun and excitement my children get from filling the cart at the Reuse centre - and that driving around downtown doesn't bother me at all these days - I don't even think about it...I love that I can take my children wherever, whenever and I don't think twice about getting there :)

The joy of losing a challenging game of Othello to Abigail,

How wonderful it is to listen to Sam playing with his toy cars and a giant cardboard tube from the reuse centre...his imagination is incredible and the voices and stories he makes up while he plays are amazing!!

Being the one to teach Laurence to drive - it has meant so many hours spent sat beside him talking,

Susannah's patience with Sam while he 'taught' her to play minecraft ♥

I'm very grateful that the shooting in Vancouver yesterday did not involve my firstborn - or our friends (especially as it was right outside of their Vancouver home)!! xxx

Always so perfect xx

Art Every Day Month....

I'm taking part in Art Every Day Month over at Creative Every Day and today for day one, I started working on a sculpture:

It isn't finished yet, but I will work on it again tomorrow.
You can see more of my work at:

Did YOU manage to spend time doing art today?  What did you create?

End of the month tag - October

What books and/or magazines did I read this month?    I read several of Sarks books which I LOVED...they are perfect laze-in-the-bath books :)  very inspiring for women and artists :)  I also starting reading The Childrens Book by A S Byatt.  and a book for my training course that I start next week.
What movies, television shows, plays, etc. did I watch this month?  I watched Titanic with the kids.  I think that was it.  Oh and Scream - and Avatar!!
What fun things did I do with my family and/or friends?  pub quiz, I went out to the Christmas store with Ki and took her out for dinner for her birthday, I went to Vegas for a few days and was able to take Laurence with me as a birthday treat for him - we had a fantastic time - some amazing memories made :)  We just celebrated a wonderful Halloween weekend with friends, Some Fall walks through the month, a games night at home, some craft times at home too and some fun homeschool events.  A Lovely Thanksgiving Sunday spent together.
What gifts did I give and/ or receive?   A lot of love and support from friends online and in real life.  Encouragement for my business and career plans.  generous support from my lawyer.  Love and support from my children who are just so sweet and wonderful.  Help and support from friends while I was away in Vegas.
What special or unusual purchases did I make?     discount tickets to go and see Criss Angel in Vegas - best money spent all month!!  It was such an amazing show!!!  Other best money spent was the tickets we bought each day for the Deuce - the bus!!  Which allowed us to ride the bus for 24 hours.  You do soooooo much walking constantly and our feet and legs were aching so much - the bus saved us a LOT of walking and we also met so many great people and characters on those buses :)
What illnesses or health concerns did I have?  a lot of migraines at the beginning of the month - but so did a lot of people I knew - I think it was because of the changing weather/ seasons and the up and down of the temperature constantly.
What were my accomplishments this month?  Selling my art work, selling out of so many spaces in my art classes and being asked to set up MORE classes....being accepted onto the training class for the job I want :)  Already having the references I need for the job I want!  Knowing that actually the two jobs I have are perfect for me....and feel RIGHT.....and I am the one who has chosen them for ME - I have not been pushed into them...no one is TELLING me to do them....no one is MAKING me do them....for the first time EVER I am doing what feels right for ME :)  and it feels sooooooo GOOD :)
What were my disappointments this month?  It was a great month...my disappointments weren't so much for me but were for my children...they felt let down YET AGAIN by their Father.....and it is always me that is left to pick up the pieces because he is incapable to be there emotionally for them.  Still, I will use this as a learning lesson and a life lesson....Maybe I have to go through this to gain the experience so that I can help my children and other children as they go this.
Anything else noteworthy to include?  October was fun - it was very busy, it was definitely an adventure - very exciting and a month of growth.  I gained courage and gained experience and found myself doing things, trying things and experiencing things I never thought I would do alone.....I ended the month feeling inspired and proud and with a new sense of strength, knowing that whatever life throws at me, I can survive - and not even just survive.....but win through!!!!  :)  Like the quote says:  "I am woman, hear me ROAR"!!

Love this quote

~Maybe some women aren't meant to be tamed.
Maybe they just need to run free til they find someone just as wild to run with them.

LOVE :)

Love is found everywhere :)
You just have to open your eyes :)

Fun at the Pumpkin Festival with friends...

Halloween party

We had great fun on Saturday night at the party we went to....Abby was fed up that there were no girls there to play with, until she learned that one of the boys wants to be a vet - and that they had dogs to play with - so they all went outside on the trampoline and played with the dogs - she was then in her element!!

Sam had a bast as it was all boys who love Nerf guns and swords and play fighting!!  They were racing around outside shooting each other so he of course thought it was the BEST!!  Then they did apple bobbing in freezing cold water which he also LOVED and did again and again :)  Crazy boy!!

Afterwards we had to head into town to meet Susannah and Maddie who had been to see the new Footloose movie.  We met them in Timmys - which was of course funny because we were all in fancy dress costume!

We finally made it home just before 11 :)

Pumpkin Carving :)

It's been a fun day...we watched Scream this morning all curled up together on the bed, then had ghost cookies fresh from the oven, then carved pumpkins, and then decorated haunted houses!!

Now Susannah and Maddie are off to the movies, and I am off to a halloween party with Abby and Sam - it has a King Arthurs court theme/ Medieval theme.....and we are getting all dressed up :)

Fun fun fun :)

Haunted Houses!!

Making and decorating rice krispy haunted houses today :)

Sam and Abby's little pumpkins...

These are cute little pumpkins that we picked up today and painted.  Tomorrow we will carve our big pumpkins, bake our cookies and make our Rice Krispy Haunted house kits :)

Tomorrow night we are off to a fancy dress Halloween party - all dressed in Medieval theme :)
A King Arthurs court theme and held by some homeschool friends of ours :)
Fun fun fun :)

Sunday is the Pumpkin Festival with friends, and Monday is Trick or treating :)

I love Halloween - I feel soooo lucky to be able to share in these moments with my children and create these memories with them.  I know they will look back on them with joy and will treasure the memories and hopefully recreate them with their children.

People complain that too much is made of holidays and occasions these days, but I don't care - children are only young for such a short time, and I truly want to make the most of it!!!

Tonight Susannah went to her school Halloween dance....I drove her and her friend Jacob there, and Jacobs Mom brought her home.  Her friend Maddie is staying over until Sunday :)

I took Abby and Sam to DQ for pumpkin pie blizzards and then we curled up in bed together and watched Monster House - we wanted to see Ghostbusters but couldn't find it anywhere so will have to try again tomorrow!!

My little pumpkin.....

Up they go!!

My talented little monkeys at their homeschool climbing class :)

Love them so much :)
