At the mall...

The children admiring the giant teddy in the Santa display at the mall!!

:)

An annual tradition!!

Every year I take the children to see the train that runs around the Christmas tree in the shoe store window at the mall!  We have done this every year since we moved here in 2002!!

I love this tradition and I love taking the children to see it - especially Sams face :)  He gets so excited and he is now old enough to remember it each year!!

craft time...

Home made window stickers!!
I found a craft kit at the thrift store that was for making your own window stickers using a special paint that dries and then peels off.  Abby and sam set to work last night and created some....they left them to dry over night and this morning they peeled them off and stuck them to my window :)

The Muppets

This afternoon we met some good friends at the movie theatre to see the new Muppets Movie :)  Sam and Abby weren't quite sure what to expect as they don't really know the Muppets - they didn't grow up with them.  But they LOVED it :)  It was such a feel good, HAPPY, fun and cheesy movie :)  Full of fun songs and dances and fun silly jokes and lines...farting shoes and really sad, bad jokes....

Just typical Muppet humour...and a little romance too :)  and not JUST Kermit and Miss Piggy :)

And my favourite line in the movie....'Am I a manly Muppet...or a Muppet of a man'???

lmao!!

Interesting.....

Interesting blog post that you can read BY CLICKING HERE especially relevant after reading my Sons status update last night about how much he hates divorce and seeing how many of his friends agreed.  I think divorce does a great injustice to children - and to yourself.

Friday Fill-ins....

1. One of my favorite things about December is creating so many memories and traditions and 'magic' for my children!!

2. I adore how much my children love seeing all the special ornament(s)!

3. This is what I'm hoping for today/tonight: A relaxing evening at home after our fun afternoon at the movies with friends.

4. Can you believe that noise? The wind is soooo strong tonight.  I don't think I have ever heard it this bad before!

5. Ooh, a new day of JYC tomorrow and a new picture to take in the December tag - and a new window to open in the advent calendar :)

6. I love to hear Christmas bells  ringing!

7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to a quiet evening at home after seeing the Muppets Movie with friends, tomorrow my plans include going to The Festival of Trees, then to Whyte Ave to have a sleigh ride with Santa along Whyte Ave to see the windows and then maybe to the 4Cats open house or maybe we will leave Whyte Ave until NEXT weekend... and Sunday, I want to go to the Greenlands Christmas Gathering!

Sigh......

Last night I was really questioning why I had swapped my king size bed for a queen!!!  Hahaha!

I was left with about an inch of room at the side because these two were hogging the rest of the bed!!

I do love them so...but REALLY!!!!!!  Sigh......  :)

The perfect Christmas toy!!

Lets fry some food :)

We spotted this in the store tonight and couldn't resist snapping a picture - such a healthy toy to play with :)

Natural Beauty :)

RED ;)

I am also taking part in a December photo tag and for December 1st was 'Red'.
This worked out quite well, as today was also 'Red' day at Starbucks...and World AIDS Day...so Susannah and I headed to Starbucks to have a drink and donate to World AIDS Day.  I picked up my red ribbon....and took a picture of my RED cup too :)

I also snapped a picture of myself (under Susannah's orders lol) in a gorgeous red hat in Dollarama...hahaha.

So these are my snapshots for the colour RED today :)

Journal Your Christmas

December is here, and with it comes Shimelles fabulous 'Journal Your Christmas'.
Today we had to print out the above form and fill it in, have our picture taken with it, and attach it to our journal :)

Job done :)

Love them so :)

These two had art class this morning and had a great time!  They studied Andy Warhol, whose exhibit we visited at the Art Gallery of Alberta earlier this year.

Afterwards we were just in time for breakfast at Timmy's.  Then home for an afternoon catching up on a few things and then sledding!!

At last the day arrived!!!! :)

My Munchkins have been counting down the days until they could open the first window on their advent calendar - and finally December 1st arrived!!!  Yay!!  They couldn't WAIT to open their first window :)  Poor Sam barely had his eyes open before Abby was thrusting his calendar at him :)

I have my own calendar this year too - a traditional calendar with a picture in each window :)  The children like mine as much as their own!

lmao

You tried to break me, but you see
What doesn't kill you makes you stronger
Stand a little taller
What doesn't kill you makes a fighter
Footsteps even lighter

Yeah baby you don't know a thing about me
You don't know a thing about me!

Wednesday tag....

1. Do you send Christmas cards? If so about how many will you send this year? How do you display the cards you receive? Or don't you? (gasp!)    I send a handful of cards - very few.  I mainly send greetings my Email.  I just don't see the point these days as I am in touch with everyone daily almost because of Facebook and Email etc anyway.  I send a few to England and to people who request them.  I have a few close friends that like to have them so I will give one with their gifts.   I don't really display cards that I receive except for special cards.

2. When do kids become adults?   When they turn 18 although in certain places they consider it to be 21 (like Las Vegas and BC) .  I consider it to be 18.

3. Does your 'beauty regimen' change with the seasons? Only in that I need more moisturizer in the winter.

4. What's something you like to eat that might cause another person to turn up their nose?  I like Marmite on toast :)  I like drinking Oxo and I like fish.  I also like Indian food - spicy curries etc etc.

5. Gloves or mittens? I like fingerless gloves that have the mitten part attached - best of both worlds!!

6. What's the longest queue you've ever been in? Was it worth it? Queue=line but doesn't queue sound nicer? Maybe at the Empire State Building???

7. Besides Christmas, what is one thing you are looking forward to in the month of December?   Meeting Christine AT LAST :)  I am soooo looking forward to meeting her after so many years :)  I have known her for years and finally get to go to her beautiful new home and meet her :)  I can't wait!!

8. Insert your own random thought here.   I was called a 'hot young tart' tonight :)  hahaha!!  Made my day!  hahaha!!  John and Jason are good for my soul :)
