preschool......

I spent this morning at Abigails preschool helping out...it was a good day to volunteer because one of the teachers was off......It's a 3 hour session in our local community hall......

We took our straws kit and the kids all had fun building towers with them...they also played playdough, sang songs, had storytime...worked on some pre K things and practiced the alphabet...they spent ages building 'dog houses' and pretending to be puppies....making jigsaws and colouring....typical preschool stuff.....

The whole thing reminded me of one of my Moms books.....I don't remember the author but the books are about the village school...written from the teacher and almost every other sentence is the teacher saying 'Johnny don't pick your nose'......that happened a LOT today! What is it with 4 year olds and nose picking??????

I showed all the children how to flip pancakes which they thought was fun...and the teacher of course was thrilled as it was great practice for co-ordination!!!

Sam got quite attached to one boys 'Cars' lunchbox and spent the morning walking around with it....until that same boy showed his favourite toy (he was 'Top Banana' today) and of course his favourite toy was a truck that had a little car inside...just like Mack and Lightening McQueen...and then of course the boy HAD to show how fast the truck could go...well that was IT!! Sam HAD to have the truck!!! OMG he then had a terrible twos melt down because he couldn't have the truck! Fun fun fun!

We got home around 12:30pm having stopped off at the local store for a few things.....Derek had already left which was nice as we could relax and have lunch with no one else here........

So now its 1:30pm and I plan to make a cup of coffee and curl up and read the Edmonton Journal...Abigail and Sam are tired and quite happy to sit and colour for a while quietly.

I slept REALLY well last night...didn't want to get out of bed this morning...I was so comfy under the covers.....it was so tempting to tell Abby preschool was cancelled and have a pj day instead.....so so tempting.
