Anyone who knows me well knows that a house fire is one of my very worst nightmares. Even once you are sure all your loved ones are safe, the thought of losing all your precious belongings - your keepsakes and treasures is just something I can't begin to imagine.
With this in mind, I'd like you to please take a moment to think of my friend and fellow blog writer and reader Tara (from the CF Mommy blog at www.cfmommy.blogspot.com who tragically lost her home to a fire last night.
Tara probably won't read this as I'm quite sure she has far too much on her mind right now to be reading blogs, but she is on my mind very much right now - in fact she is on many peoples minds right now - her facebook page and linking parents are inundated with thoughts and well wishes and help for her.
I've sat a while today and surfed through some old pages of Taras blogs - looking at Kennedy's bedroom....macks room.....Tara's bed she was so thrilled with.....the scrapbook pages Tara had framed for the wall....pictures she had on the fridge.....the pantry where she had labelled all the shelves....the home Tara had made so beautiful :(
I'm devastated for Tara :(
Sometimes life sucks. It's truly unfair and it seems kind of crazy that my day was spent doing typical Sunday things while Taras life was spent coming to terms with that and her reliving listening to her little girls screams from last night :(
I do KNOW that they are all safe - and thats the main thing. And I KNOW they will rebuild and remake a home - there or elsewhere - and that this will eventually become an experience they all grow from - something that makes them stronger.
