Last night was such a special night. Abby, Sam and I stayed up late and watched 'Merry Christmas Mr Bean' together all cuddled up on the sofa by the fire, and then afterwards Abby went to bed (her choice), and Sam and I decided to sleep downstairs. We read his favourite Christmas story again, then cuddled up and talked about Christmas memories and our favourite gifts from Christmas in the past etc etc and we fell asleep in the glow of the Christmas tree :)
It was wonderful!!
I didn't sleep particularly well but it was worth every restless moment to see how much Sam enjoyed it :) This morning I made us both a coffee and we sat and enjoyed the sunrise and the fire and Christmas lights again. Sam said how lovely it was and how he wants to do it again very soon - so we are going to do it again next week before the tree comes down.
I think we will make this a new tradition - its definitely a wonderful memory for us both.
