Feeling used.....................finding friends
There are people in my life (as I am sure there are in most peoples lives) who drain me.......who use me......and I know this .....I KNOW it....but I still find myself going back for more......
When will I learn?
I have an extremely toxic 'friend' who keeps sucking me back in.............then spits me out when someone better comes along....and actually better always seems worse to me because these people treat her like crap! So maybe its a vicious cycle.....
But slowly I am learning...I have moved away from this person socially......as best I can.......I can be pleasant and friendly and polite but I need to be on my guard because I know how I feel so low after contact with this person.............they suck me dry because its constantly about them.......everything is about them. I find that so hard at times.............I mean shit...what am I a @#^$&%$&% therapist to spill your woes out to and then dump for someone else? Thats what it feels like........................
So yeah......anyway.......an email I got this morning from another person asking me for something........like I am only worth bothering with when you need a favour.............
This summer has been good for me.......I have found out who my real friends are.....I have got to know some GREAT new people.........and it has helped me see the light and feel stronger about dealing with toxic people...................
My new school year resolution is to stick with my gut feeling and not allow myself to get treated that way any more.
I did have a fab email from Christie today though...who is in BC already....and saw bear poop!!!!! Cool! I have this weird fetish for finding animal poop and following trails etc......bear poop would be cool! They have dried bear poop at the museum.....the kids always joke that it looks like my chocolate snowballs I make with oats!
She sent me a link about a ski resort and they have this fab tubing hill....I wanna go tubing this winter!!!! Oh and we got confirmation of our suite in Banff........I'm soooo looking forward to this trip :)
Today Chris is working at the museum.................we are having a fairly quiet day at home....then will go into town for a while...then this evening we have several friends coming over with radio controlled aeroplanes to show the children......that should be great fun........although they say it may rain tonight and if it does we will postpone..................
The Benadryl left me so drowsy last night and this morning I feel hung over...............I'm hoping a walk to the mail box at lunch time will clear my head.......

Wasp nest..............
Lloyd and I took Amber and Rosie for a walk up along the hay bales.......as we were coming back we spied this amazing wasp nest on the ground beside our back woods.........I couldn't resist getting some pictures...with my long lense...I really wasn't THAT close lol....but yep I still managed to get stung on my leg...in my calf...and OUCH it hurts......my leg is swollen and I have popped some benadryl which will no doubt knock me out in a short while........but I got my picture :)
It works!!!!

A last trek to the splashpark............
We went to the splashpark today for the last time this summer.....it was glorious weather...30c and the most lovely breeze........we got to the splashpark around 11am and found a spot amongst some of the (small) trees...but enough for a little shade......
About 11 families came out to join us.........Tasha invited some friends, Shawna came with her girls and the rest were all homeschoolers........I met a few new people which is always nice......and it was great to see everyone I knew...there were a LOT of children of all ages and they seemed to all have a great time.........we left around 4pm.......
I'm so tired right now that I'm not sure what to write.........sitting in the sun for 5 hours is exhausting lol! Such a hard life huh???? :)
Tasha kindly let me borrow her camera to take some pictures .......i'll blog those when I get them. Now I'm going for a quiet walk outside with the dogs........its a lovely evening.........
I get my new point and shoot tomorrow......the children broke mine..........oh and I had an interesting conversation at the park with one of the homeschooling Moms...she's a photographer...specialising in wedding photography and was suggesting I take over some of her customers when she moves.................
I'm very interested but need to sort out my confidence levels..................hhhhmmmmm lots to think about....but Lloyd is of course so keen.......says he'll kit me out with all I need and support me 200% as I know he would......but I need to find that confidence inside of me somehow.....................

Slacking on the sunset front..............
I'm sorry I haven't been posting sunset pics the last few days...the sunsets have been glorious....I saw them as I zipped by on my quad lol! Lloyd and I have been out quadding at dusk the last few evenings....................it is just so much fun...the liuttle walking trauil that Lloyd created for me a few weeks back is perfect for a beginning quader...enough hills and bends and bumps to get practice but nothing too adventurous :) Its fun quadding at dusk with the lights on :) and I love quadding with Lloyd..........we just keep grinning at each other and laughing and he says he likes my hair when I'm riding because it blows in the wind lol!
So yes I am slacking in the sunset area of my blog but the sunsets are still being enjoyed!

That Monday feeling.....................
I woke up this morning feeling wonderful....sleepy and happy.....then I saw Lloyd in the doorway in his work outfit...............and my mood sunk........Its Monday and Lloyd has gone to work :( Our weekend was so much fun and I'm so sad its over.........
Abigail and Sam were curled up in bed beside me still fast asleep :)
The weekend was good....constructive...we managed to fill the dumpster very quickly and easily....we will have to rent it again in the Spring as we still have a ton of stuff to get rid of ....but we made a great start............they come to collect it today..............
And today we have plans......fun plans with 11 other families :) A kind of goodbye to summer fun day enjoying the 30c temperature they forecast today :)
