Thursday

Last night Lloyd and I went out for coffee......only to Tims......then we went to Sobeys for some groceries...it was a bit of a disaster really...firstly there was a smell.....in the bakery and vegetables section....like poo..............oh my goodness it was so vile and disgusting..I couldn't buy anything from there......in fact I couldn't stay there so I raced over to the other aisles away from the smell and Lloyd grabbed the bread and stuff...of course he thought it was hysterically funny because I was making vomiting noises.......NOT good.....

So I had no cakes oir bakery items and spotted the beautiful purple pyramid display of cadburys eggs by the check outs...so didn't buy cookies or anything because I knew I'd buy myself some cadburys eggs.......so we finish shopping and I go to get my cadburys eggs and the pyramid display is EMPTY!!!!!! How cruel is that? They tease you with the display and by this stage I don't want anything BUT cadburys creme eggs.......nothing else will do to satisfy me.....and there are NONE!!!!!

So of course I start sulking......

Lloyd offers to drive me elsewhere to get some but I am now all sulky and refuse to let him.........I am sulky in a silly kind of way so we weren't fighting or anything and he is teasing me about it but I was so so fed up....all I could think about was cadburys stupid creme eggs......

Oh well.......

Derek came back yesterday evening too and brought his little girl with him......he finished some work while she played with my children and watched Cars...she was very cute...she has a pretty and unusual name.....something like Avianda....but I have no idea how you spell it......very sweet little thing! Same age as Sam.

This morning Laurence is at home although he seems much better now.....he can go back to school tomorrow - which is good because it's his DARE graduation ceremony tomorrow.

I took Abigail to preschool.....one of the Moms has invited me to her Partylite party next Wednesday so I think I will go to that for a while.....she seems really nice.

I chatted to Abby's teacher for a while and then headed home.

Lloyd left me alittle note all folded up and tucked between the keys on my keyboard :)

So did anyone win the millionaire lottery last night? I should check our tickets because I haven't done that yet...wow I could be sat here a MILLIONAIRE!!!!

No doubt though if the winner was in this area they would have said on the news this morning......sigh.....

I am going to tidy up and then do some more to my paper bag albums...they are looking really nice already :)

again.......its snowing.

Its snowing again...it was snowing quite heavily this morning but now it is sunny and yet still snowing so it must be very thin cloud.........

But yep....MORE snow....

I went into the local store to get the Journal and the lady laughed and said she goes by what I'm wearing to tell her how cold it is....today I had my coat on so she guessed it must be very cold.....the other day at -4 I had a t-shirt on :)

I told her it was March and should be sunny with Daffodils blooming and she reminded me that the saying goes 'In like a Lion and out like a lamb' so because its cold and snowy today on the 1st of March, then by the end of March the snow should be gone and it will be warm.....

We then started discussing the Ground hog and whether he should be shot for being wrong lol!

Feb 28, 2007

It's not Lauries week........

Poor Laurie isn't having a very good week......tonight I cooked his favourite dinner - Lasagna.....so we are all sat at the table enjoying our lasagna when all of a sudden Laurie throws up all over his dinner plate.........

.....needless to say no one ate any more of their dinner after that......

Sigh.......two hours in the oven and the dogs get to eat it all......well, accept Lauries plateful...I'm not that cruel!

So....either we caught Cori's family's stomach flu via email (is that possible??? CAN I blame her????????) or he has picked something else up from his friends as well as nightmares :(

So date night will now be a quick run into town to grab some groceries and water.......I don't want to leave Laurie long. No matter how old they get, they just want Mom and Dad when they are sick.

The sun going down as I write......

Tonights sunset was spectacular and sadly the pictures do not do it justice......

Millionaire for life....................

Anyone here buy a millionaire for life lottery ticket????? Tonight is the drawer that will make one person a millionaire for life...they will win one million dollars a year for 25 years......

We have some tickets and my friend Val does but I don't know of anyone else who has bought any........but if you have a ticket then GOOD LUCK and I hope someone I know wins! Not because I want a loan (lol) but because it would just be so great to know a winner :)

Pop rocks

I LOVE pop rocks.....they are what I buy whenever I go to a 7-11 (Spar). This packet though is very special! Lloyd took the children to Dylans Candy Bar in Florida to choose gifts for me for my birthday....and Abigail chose these pop rocks for me...she remembered how I love them! So now of course I can't bring myself to eat them.....she was son happy to choose them for me and was so excited when she gave them to me :)

I love pop rocks......I remember feeding some to Sam when he was a tiny baby....terrible mother that I am...but I wanted to see his face when they popped in his mouth :) I have fed them to my dogs before too...that was funny to watch :)

My friend Faith......

This picture was a gift from my friend Faith.......Faith and I met in hospital when we had our first babies....Christopher was born the day before Faiths Daughter Charlotte...we became good friends and would get together once or twice a week at one of our houses or at a local play place with the children......Faith went on to have 3 girls in all and I adored them...as I had 2 boys at the time, I loved buying her girls Barbies and pink stuff and doing their hair and everything! Then when Susannah was born, Faith would give me endless bags of her Daughters clothes for Susie....Faith was a total shopoholic lol!

Faith was a dancer before she had the girls and travelled the world doing cabaret...her stories were wonderful to listen to...she then returned home and taught aerobics classes...where she happened to fall in love with one of her 'students' a guy with no hair but amazing eyes (as she described him!)

I miss Faith a lot...we still stay in touch but its not the same now that I am in Canada.....but I have kept this special gift from her and despite the fact that over the years it has faded and the polymer clay has changed colour from dust, it is still special to me...it's on the sideboard in my bedroom.

My answer to stress............

..........has always been to soak in the bath with a great magazine or book....a bath filled with fragrant bubbles....I put a LOT of bubble bath in and get through a bottle FAST.........I have even been known to have 3 baths in one day and quite often will be in there so long that the bath goes cold so I empty it and refill it and keep bathing :)
And no bath is complete without a pile of warm fluffy towels..my favourite towels are my red set from Sears.....

Then because I soak for so long I love to massage in a wonderful mosturiser or body butter.....or sometimes just a little perfume.

When I am tired, stressed, angry......or just for no reason at all :)

Baths are BLISS :)

Siblings........

Abigail and Sam were really good for me this morning when the ceilings were being done.......Abby asked me to take their picture.......

I feel like ET......................

Derek came over last night and prepped the house ready to do the ceilings today.....basically he stapled plastic to all the walls and then rolled it up......Lloyd then gave the ceiling a quick undercoat of white paint......Today Derek came over and unrolled all the plastic so it was like living in a bubble......tunnels of plastic wrap all over the downstairs of my house which unfortunately was not enough to keep everything clean and my walls look terrible now :( I felt like ET at the end of the movie where the scientists coiver the house in protective plastic.....

This morning me and the children were stranded in the kitchen for a couple of hours while the ceilings were done...boy is the machine NOISY!!!!!

The children played playdough and then made paper snowflakes, watched a little tv and played with some toys and were very good about not going into the plastic tunnels.....

I made use of the time to wash down all my kitchen cupboards, walls and baseboards and took down all the homeschool posters and artwork......after the bathrooms are done, we are having a new kitchen put in, so they have to come down eventually and it gave me a chance to spring clean......

Derek is coming back later to do some more scraping and remove all the staples etc before a final tidy-up........

After Derek had gone and I had peace at last I checked Email and saw that Val had asked me to meet her at the local restaurant again so I could have a break from all the chaos here...I wish I had seen that BEFORE - it would have been great! I think I will go there tomorrow and maybe she can meet us then instead!

I have to go wash my floors AGAIN and see if I can get some more of this white dusty stuff off of them :(

Flurries................floating....falling softly...

We woke up to flurries this morning....big flakes of snow falling gently...no wind at all...very very pretty.

They said we may have them off and on throughout today and tonight...possibly tomorrow.......but right now as you can see, we have the Alberta blue skies again and its lovely and sunny :)

Thinking of you.

One of my blog readers is going through a difficult time right now and I am worried about her........(you know who you are!!!) and I just want her to know she is in my thoughts.

I've never met you but I want to! You are someone I greatly admire and KNOW that I would like!!!!

If you need anything let me know! You aren't far away so if there is anything I can do to help just ask!
