Climbing frame....

The children have LOVED the climbing frame this year - it has had a lot of use...almost daily I would say...I think it was definitely worth buying!

As Sam now has the bigger climbing frame, I emailed my old neighbour and said that we could return her little climbing frame she had loaned is for Sam. She emailed me back and invited me over this week and also offered me a job! She asked if I could help rewrite parts of her website and the e-commerce section with products etc......so I will speak to her about that in the week.

snapshots of a summer evening..

Many evenings lately have been spent out by the fire pit, with cups of tea, marshmallows to roast and NO mosquitoes :) Here are a few snaps from one of the evenings this past week.

Dragonfly delight.....

A pic from yesterday...

Chris took his camera yesterday to the lake so I thought I'd have a look through his pictures and blog a few....but this one is really the only one I can blog - Val I have a few I can send to you of your crew but they aren't great lol - Chris needs to practice a little more and most of his pictures are weird ones of his feet while swinging etc ;) And a few of me ina bathing suit which I'm not sure ANYONE here would want to see lol!

My new cousin!!

I have a new cousin - baby Leah was born on Monday in Dorset, England. I don't think my Uncle Bernard (60) and my Aunt Louise (43-ish) thought they'd have a child together but they got this lovely surprise this year :)

My Nanny Spicer (Dads Mom) is in the pictures...her youngest Grandchild must be almost 30 so I am sure she wasn't expecting to have any more Grandchildren - she has plenty of Great Grandchildren already :)

My Mom bought a gift for the baby while she was visiting here - a little baby set with bootees and hat and bib and little sleeper - all in red and white with Canada on them :)

drizzly and grey and Autumnal.

Yesterday was really nice. Gorgeous weather and we spent the afternoon at the beach...Val and Samantha joined us with their children and all in all it was a great day...we finally got home at 7pm!!!!!! After a dinner of chicken salad and wedges, we went outside and sat out there all evening by the fire....sucha nice evening after a fun day of swimming and playing and chatting at the lake!

Today is completely different. It is grey and drizzly and miserable outside and I am feeling worse and worse - felt a bit achey this morning but I feel so much worse now.....all my joints hurt, I am so cold and have ear ache....I feel all flu-ey.

I am not sure if I have a cold or something coming or if I picked something up in the lake water yesterday, but I don't feel good.

The miserable weather meant we changed our minds about the parade today - there was no way the girls could walk wearing leotards and little skirts. We decided to go to the big yard sale in town that they hold annually at the big garden centre. It was useless though and we were only there 20 minutes - I bought 1 book and a magna doodle and that was it - spent $1.50!!!!

W stopped off at Chapters and had a coffee in Starbucks but I was starting to feel so bad that we grabbed a few things in Safeway and then headed home.

Now, despite the drizzle and greyness outside, Lloyd has taken the 4 youngest down into the woods at the end of the road to chop down trees and bring them back up - he's stocking the wood pile ready for winter so it has time to dry out before the snow falls....

I am going to soak in the bath and hope that helps me feel better. Apart from that, I am not sure what our plans are - Lloyd is making his wonderful butter chicken for dinner tonight and we will probably put the fire on and curl up with a good movie.....

Val, it was so great to see you all yesterday - I really enjoy spending time with your wonderful family and it was nice to have Kayla there to swim with me :)

I hope I didn't give you any germs there!!! I have no idea whats wrong with me but I hope you are all feeling ok!

Oh and other sad news - I think the Hummingbirds have left on their journey South :( they haven't been around the last couple of days :( how depressing!

Miquelon Lake on Friday - come and join us!

Tomorrow I am taking the children to Miquelon Lake for the afternoon - its supposed to be nice until the evening so we are going to make the most of the good weather :)

If anyone would like to come and join us we tend to sit on the left hand side (as you are looking at the water) of the beach fairly close to the water. We will get there around 1pm or just after probably. I will have my 5 and probably two other children with me.

Its easy to find the lake - head down Hwy 21 and just after the turning to New Sarepta (just after the bend) there is a turning on the left witha signpost to Miquelon Provincial Park. Stay on this road until you see the sign to turn in left to the park (there is a store on the corner) and follow signs to day use parking!

There is a fenced off area in the water for little ones...there is lots of sand for sand toys or soccer or whatever and there is a big playground - there are changing rooms and washrooms on the beach too.

My friend Samantha is probably joining us...hopefully Val too (hope you got my Email Val)

Anyway....we go after lunch when it has warmed up and we normally stay until about 4pm or so.....

It would be so great to have some of you join us! Make the most of one of the last hot days of summer......throw the kids, some snacks and some towels in the car and come join us!!!

Jasper....

A few up to date pics of our kitty Jasper......

Millennium Place

A few snaps taken before the camera batteries ran out - at MP on Tuesday. WE went swimming and played in the playground and sport zone. It was surprisingly really quiet there for a school holiday day.

Happy Birthday Terry!!!

Today is Lloyds Moms birthday. Terry is 60 today. She is also retiring this month so sending a BIG hello to Terry!

Congratulations Terry - I hope you had a lovely day. I hope you liked the gift we chose for you and that it arrives safely! Sorry we can't be there to celebrate with you, but we are there in spirit! Have a wonderful party!

A couple more pages I have finished this week.....

At the beach...

With Susie on the beach yesterday.....

Another Email.....

So I got an Email this morning from the preschool co-ordinator again. She basically said she is looking into liability issues as she still wants me to teach - but no news and I am so tired of the set up there that I don't want to be involved any more...it's been endless since May time....maybe if they had bothered to respond to voice mails and Emails back at the beginning of Summer, everything would have been worked out and we would all know where we stand - surely leaving it until mid August to find staff and get everything settled is a little late - especially when parents are already signing up for the classes. Its very frustrating. I'm tired of not knowing where I stand...of not knowing whether I have a job or not....of not knowing anything! Of them changing their minds...

So I am thinking through my plans for Fall....Lloyds friend will be here for 2 weeks...then we are in Whistler for a week in October. We may or may not have building work starting in October (they are not sure now if it will start then or in February...as we aren't sure about all the chaos over Christmas.....)

I have pictures to blog and all kinds of things about the last few days to write about but I have to head out in a little while so maybe when I get back......

Email about job

So the story continues.....

The preschool co-ordinator wrote to me saying she was disappointed that I wasn't able to take the job now, and that I should 'leave it with her.....'

So now I guess I wait and see what they say - but I think I have already decided not to take this any further - its been ridiculous from start to finish.

Lloyd (and a few other people) think I should start my own preschool but I hear its not quite as easy as it seems.....Lloyd said we could build a barn style preschool building and run it from here - or we could start up our own in the local hall - but I'm not sure thats what I want to do anyway.

Geez I never even wanted a job - I wasn't planning on going back to work anyway - the plan was I would stay home and then when the children were all in school I could do testing for our company and finish my novel (ha ha ha!!!)

So right now in my head I am returning to plan A and this September I will get some precious one on one time with Sam - we can go swimming and maybe do the craft mornings at Michaels and I can put him in the babysitting thing at MP and go running on the track.....

Anyway, its been a long day......we were at the lake all afternoon and then I had to drive Lauries friends home and then rush home to shower and change for date night - dinner at Joeys Global and then a little shopping - but basically lots of talking and catching up and it was a really nice evening. And now I HAVE to go!!! Goodnight!
