A wonderful idea...how therapeutic!

I think the booths mentioned in the following site are such a wonderful idea....

I know I would use one....

Who would you write to? What would you say? Would you mail it or leave it to be read to others?

You will have to cut and paste the above link probably because my link button is still not working...I have had sooooo many problems with google since changing to a private blog grrrrrr

My missing gene.....

I am missing the female gene for buying shoes and handbags......I have friends who love to buy shoes and have hundreds of pairs - and likewise with handbags.....I have one - my battered black one, and I have to buy another this week for Florida as I want a satchel style one that will go across me diagonally....I also have to buy shoes this week for Florida....I HATE buying shoes......

But for all those women who love nothing more than shopping for shoes and handbags, you can now go crazy online too at the new Amazon store that sells nothing but.......

Still snowing.....

Still snowing, I'm sat here hugging a cup of coffee, Sam is playing with his tractors on the floor beside me...the older three are playing Risk at the table and Abigail is playing in her room - with her dolls I think....

CRASH......Sam just tipped out his whole box of cars...he's slightly (??) obsessed with cars and trucks and tractors....and of course the movie 'Cars'........he's happy :)

I am Emailing Lloyd to and fro as he is trying to get a hold of something for me and I am waiting for updates.......

Derek the drywall guy isn't here yet - he said he'd be here around this time today but maybe he won't show because of the weather.....he just comes over when he can - in between jobs......he left his boot open yesterday and the dogs stole his drywall tape.....they shredded it everywhere lol - he didn't mind as he said its cheap - and Laurie went out and rescued what was left of the roll...The kids find Derek interesting because he chooses to smoke....having grown up in a non smoking/ anti-smoking home my kids find it puzzling when people choose to do something that will probably kill them in that way........so this was a big thing to them!

I have been using my kitchen aid mixer to make the creamiest most gorgeous fluffy mashed potato EVER......it just makes it soooooooo good! We had mash with honey-mustard chicken last night and everyone loved the mash - and the night before that Lloyd was craving mash late in the evening so he boiled a few potatoes and we had a bowl of mash together! If you haven't used your mixer for mashed potatoes TRY it!!! Wack it up to number 10 to beat it until its creamy and fluffy! I also roasted a few extra breasts so that Lloyd and the children had chicken salad sandwiches for lunch today......

I am rambling because I am bored - so I think I am going to switch this off and go find something to do.......

snow has started..........

Its started.......it started snowing just before 12pm....and its blowing hard already......

Abigail loved preschool (of course) - she came home with a fruit loop necklace and a painting with her hands on it and the name of her class.....

I had to tell three people about our Florida trip today....and telling people has got me excited....I am finally excited about this trip in an 'excited' kind of way.....(that only makes sense to me and Lloyd no doubt lol) I am soooo looking forward to sunshine and warm weather and a swimming pool and walking on the beach with my toes in the sand....feeling the waves against my legs.......seeing the children enjoy Disney and Sea World and everything else....

I am excited - and it feels good :)

Not yet.....

Its almost lunchtime and no snow yet! They said any time though!

Preschool starts

Abigail started preschool this morning - she finishes at lunchtime....I hope she has fun - I'm sure she will! There are 14 in her class - including the cute little guy she got to know at the Christmas party! He wore his cowboy hat again today :)

Also in her class is Chrystals little girl - which surprised me as I would have thought she already has enough driving to do during the week.....

Theresa called me this morning and said she is thinking of putting her daughter A into school in March...exactly the same reasons as me which I thought was very interesting.....

Laurie and Susie are watching Zathura now but have been doing a lot of speed stacking too - watching the dvd that teaches them how etc etc and then competing against each other.....it's really cool to watch....real skill to it!

This afternoon they want to do some cooking - so we plan to make thumb print cookies and some peppermint popcorn - recipes from Susannahs new book...Lloyds ne laptop still hasn't arrived - the pc has died and the this laptop is dying too so I hope the new one arrives soon!

We keep getting phone calls for a 'James Rose' and he is obviously in debt because the calls are all from debt collectors...its driving me nuts...I keep telling them I have never heard of him and they say they will removce his name within 48 hours but this has been going on for weeks now grrrrrr.

Well I have my marmite on wholewheat toast to eat quickly before I have to leave and get Abigail...I should go.....

We watched more of Greys Anatomy last night - it gets better and better! OMG the bomb in the body was a great one!!!! But why is McDreamy still with his wife???? That is sooooo not gonna work!

And McSteamy is so NOT steamy - I just don't find him attractive at all.....

I like George :) He's lovely - so so sweet - the last bit we watched was when he finally told Meredith his feelings for her......was that real or a dream again??? I can't wait until tonight to find out!

OMG how addicted are we???? Lloyd is just as bad too :) He's such a girl lol! The other night Greys Anatomy was actually on tv - series 3......so I flicked it on for a second to see what it was about and Lloyd started flapping and telling me to switch it over in case we see something that would ruin series 2 and give secrets away - it was so funny...so I switched it on again to see his reaction and he starts flapping and shrieking 'what are you doing, switch over, SWITCH OVER' he's too funny :)

Do you make snap decisions???

Do you make snap decisions or do you tend to think things through a lot?

Love is.....

.......carefully biting off the pink outer coating of the round coconut-ty liquorice allsorts and saving the inside liquorice for your wife!

Thank you Lloyd :) I will never forget that :)

things to come........

This is our weather forecast for today and tomorrow - they said this could be the worst blizzard since 1989 on the news this morning:

Blizzard warning for:
City of Edmonton-St. Albert-Sherwood Park

BLIZZARD CONDITIONS EXPECTED TONIGHT AND INTO WEDNESDAY.
A DISTURBANCE CROSSING SOUTHERN BRITISH COLUMBIA WILL TRACK EASTWARD INTO ALBERTA TODAY AND INTENSIFY. BANDS OF SNOW AHEAD OF THE SYSTEM WILL BECOME AN ORGANIZED SNOW AREA TONIGHT AND IS FORECAST TO EXTEND FROM THE LLOYDMINSTER AREA WEST INTO THE GRAND PRAIRIE/SOUTHERN PEACE REGIONS. WIDESPREAD SNOWFALL AMOUNTS OF NEAR 10 CENTIMETRES CAN BE EXPECTED WITH LOCAL HEAVIER AMOUNTS ESPECIALLY OVER EAST CENTRAL ALBERTA. INCREASING WINDS THIS EVENING WILL COMBINE WITH THE FALLING SNOW TO GENERATE BLIZZARD CONDITIONS IN EXPOSED AREAS ACROSS MOST OF CENTRAL ALBERTA. CONDITIONS WILL SLOWLY IMPROVE FROM THE NORTHWEST ON WEDNESDAY AS THE SNOW TAPERS OFF AND THE WINDS GRADUALLY DIMINISH. IN THE WAKE OF THE DISTURBANCE ON THURSDAY AN ARCTIC RIDGE WILL BUILD DOWN OVER WESTERN CANADA BRINGING CLEAR SKIES AND VERY COLD TEMPERATURES. BRISK WINDS AND TEMPERATURES NEAR MINUS 30 WILL RESULT IN EXTREME WIND CHILLS OVER THE HIGH LEVEL REGION.

Susannah in the sunflowers..............

The weekend news...

Laurie slept over at his friends Friday night and then phoned Saturday and asked to stay over another night - he is home now.....it was kind of sweet because Friday night Abigail came downstairs upset - she couldn't sleep because she missed Laurence!

The furnace guy finally came on Saturday morning.....they are coming on the 15th and 16th to put in a new furnace and air conditioning :) I am happy about this :) No more hot house in the summer!

Last night we watched another episode of Greys Anatomy.....its becoming an addiction - as soon as the kids are asleep we watch more......I think we have about 15 more to watch and then we have to wait for series three to come out on dvd :)

McDreamy is um............DREAMY!!!! I find men who cry REALLY sexy lol ;)

My Mum phoned this afternoon - she sang Happy BIrthday to Sam...Sam said three things to them I think......Car, yes and Bye!

Mum told me that her close friend (that she normally goes walking with - they do sponsored walks etc and hike regularly) is sick again.....she starts chemo again on Wednesday...please keep her in your thoughts.

weirdo!!!!

On Friday I was at the doctors...my appt was at 11am but I ended up going in at 11:50!!!! grrrr...anyway luckily a friend of mine walked in shortly after 11am....the waiting room was busy but quiet - people politely talking quietly or reading or just watching the tv (that showed CNN news - another thing that bugged me - why did we have to sit and listen to US news??? Whats wrong with CTVnet????)

Anyway, my friend T and I were talking about her DS starting school in the Fall because he missed the cut off date by 2 weeks...and I was saying how I felt that extra year benefits a child because of our experience with Susannah.....she started early but by 7 she had friends of 9 in her class and they were all into boys and fashion and weightloss etc which was too much too soon for a 7 year old - even if she was doing brilliantly academically!

Anyway...this guy sat a few people away suddenly butts into our conversation giving his thoughts!!!! I mean is that normal????? Should he even have admitted he was listening into our conversation let alone joined in??????? I was stunned!

A short while later we were discussing Gameboys and PSP's etc etc and all the quivelant little things.......and he starts butting in again!!! Saying how he bought his daughters a psp for CHristmas and his 6 year old loves it but his 3 year old struggles a little and keeps asking for help (????????????? WTF does a 3 year old need a PSP for?????)

So anyway - was he weird or what???? I thought it was really weird - in a quiet doctors office waiting room for someone to join in with two friends conversations....I love listening in on others conversations but to join in like that???

My little sunflower......
