Steampunk art class!!

I taught my first 'Steampunk art' class this week and I really enjoyed it!!  Abigail and I spent Wednesday and headed to the Reuse centre, to Home depot, Michaels etc etc and we collected all kinds of bits and pieces for the class.  It was a really fun class to put together!!

Students could choose to decorate  canvas, box, tin, birdhouse...or create a steampunk object from the items in the baskets on the table!!  I was so impressed with the works of art by the end of the class!!

Of course a few of the children saw the bird houses and just got carried away with their love of paint and colour - and birdhouses - and just decorated with their own style and flair - and that was fine too - that is what our classes are all about!!  Having fun with art!!!  Creating your own style and loving art!!  

I was thrilled with one of my little boys from the classes brought me his art journal to show me though - he was so proud of it and has been doing so much in it at home :)  awww he was so full of smiles and I it just melted my heart so completely :)

I showed Laurence some Tiffany cupcakes last night, and so he set to work making me some :)

I still remember all the gorgeous Tiffany stores in Vegas...they were EVERYWHERE.....but for me, it HAS to wait for New York...I'm going to treat myself to a piece of jewelry in a little blue box from the original Tiffany's store in New York :)  

It is going to be a treat to myself to celebrate a few things...

I love this picture I took of my neighbours barn yesterday...really happy with how it came out :)  

Thank you to Laurence who took us for a drive after school yesterday so Abby and I could take pictures :)

A few snapshots from our Monday.....

Yummy beef and guinness stew in the  crockpot all day made the house smell incredible - and we had it with yorkshire puddings :)   Mmmmm-mmmmm :)

Easy tasty craft to keep them happy :)

Despite us having several different choices of things to do today, the children wanted to stay home and do their own thing.  So we used up more of the candy from the gingerbread houses and the birthday party (yes we still have so much left) and decorated some 'trees' :)  

So simple - so fun - and so delicious :)

Rosie Posie in the snow....

Rosie just LOVED all the snow today :)  She spent the afternoon outside chasing the snow flying out of the snow blower :)  After I had been for a walk on my own to take pictures undisturbed by an excited dog and footsteps in the snow, she joined me for a walk :)

The Ice on Whyte Festival people contacted me last week and asked if I would mind them using some pf my photographs in their literature and advertising :)  

Then today 'Travel Alberta' the official tourism board for Alberta, liked one of my photographs!!  :)

Ok so it's just on Instagram, but it makes me happy :)  To have my photographs appreciated by others - especially by people who see and use professional pictures on a daily basis :)
