bye bye...
Thursdays snowy start.....
Sam woke up this morning and stood up to look out of the window - he said 'SNOW!' but I figured it was just frost....so I got up to look and he was right! There was a dusting of snow on the garage roof.
It was gone soon after though.
This morning we wrapped up and went outside for a walk...we picked leaves for some craft activities and talked about Fall...saw some ducks on the pond and watched them fly off.....looked at some fresh gopher holes and talked about animals and winter....it was nice :) Sam had fun and was thrilled that Cairo and Jasper, our cats, came with us for the entire walk! Funny cats!
At the end of the walk Amber and Rosie joined us and we went back into the woods with them for a while and threw some sticks etc....then we came inside to warm up....
Sam and Abigail had great fun doing leaf rubbing, leaf printing and making people and creatures out of the leaves. Abigail also enjoyed mixing all the colours to get the right shade for her designs....she says she wants to be an artist when she is older.
Sam and Abby have had lunch arnd are now playing upstairs - they did have a picnic laid out on a blanket up there, with teddies etc joining them...but I'm not sure what they are playing now.
Abigail should have gone to school this morning. We packed her bag ready in case she wanted to go, but she didn't....she said she wants to go to grade one next year but this year she wants to stay home with Sam and do math and other things.....so tonight Lloyd and I will pop over to Scholars Choice for some ideas and resources...
I have to say, Abigail seems so much more relaxed and happy today.....she isn't close to tears like she has been....it's nice to see...

Wednesdays business.....
Today we were invited to Val's house for breakfast...we got there at 10am and Val served us waffles with apple cinnamon or waffles with chocolate sauce....mmmmmmm they were sooooo good! Thank you Val!!! We'll be there tomorrow morning for more waffles ok??? I'll bring the whole family lol! Abigail and Sam tucked in too and Abigail LOVED them so much! :)
I got to see Vals new carpets at last! They look so great and what a difference they make to the whole house! And the colour in the family room is so nice - warm and cozy and just the kind of room you could curl up in on a cold day and watch tv or read....VERY nice :)
After breakfast, we scrapbooked at the table while Abigail worked on her 'all about me' poster for school....she probably won't be going back after Thanksgiving, but colouring in the poster kept her busy!
I got a few pages done - although each page still needs the journaling and title added.....but I'm happy that I worked on a few more pictures to go into an album!
Driving home, I saw that Hwy 14 had been closed between our road and RR 220 - a big accident - but by the time I was there it was almost closed and the two trucks were there...lots of police and the traffic going both ways was detoured via 512. I hope no one was hurt. I will watch the news later to see if it is mentioned.
I finally got my CK magazine in the mail today - LAST months!!! The new one is due out this week and yet today I finally got the last one! What on earth is the point of subscribing if you get it so late that you can't enter any contests or order any kits or anything? ggrrrrr
Susannah and Chris have gone to their friends home for the afternoon (today is early out at school) Laurence has been working on a diorama of black bears for a school project..he gets 5 extra marks if he takes it tomorrow so he has been busy.
Sam is playing with his bricks - which is all he ever does really lol!
Lloyd is leaving work soon and will call in to our builders for the latest copy of the plans for the extension.....we were meant to go yesterday and forgot as we were distracted by thoughts of finding a Goldie the fish lookalike!
Ok, I am tired, my back aches and ankle is still very bruised and sore from last nights run (I twisted it up on the field) so I am going to go and soak in the bath and read my new magazine until Lloyd gets home.
Four Square is on - I hate this show.....and it has the annoying songs on it that get stuck in your head! stupid weird men in blue doing weird dances and songs....and hopping and stuff - its bizarre....its even more bizarre than Toopy and Binoo with the nipples falling off!
OK - I need a bath - need to relax before I start dinner.
Have a great evening everyone! Thank you again for today Val!

Grade one...
Abigail wants to go into grade one...she says she plays with a girl in grade one who is the same age as her....and that they do math in grade one....she has mentioned it a few times but I have always been so against the idea....but maybe we should try it and see how she does....I don't know.....Lloyd is going to call the Principal and see what he says...
Grade one would mean all day every day.
Oh and Chris has asked if he can go to Concordia High School next year.....maybe we will look into that idea.....he says they bus from here but I doubt that...its a private school in Edmonton! He'd have to go in with lloyd each morning...but it might be better than a Sherwood Park high school...I don't know much about it....
I did suggest boarding school though ;)

Lloyds day off...
Lloyd had today off of work...well officially he 'worked from home' but all it meant was he made the odd phone call, sent the odd email from his blackberry...oh and he took part in a conference cal for 20 minutes while we were walking back to the car at WEM....
The rest of the day was ours :)
We had breakfast at Lumberjacks - I was hoping for a repeat of when I went there with Val the other week, but it was nothing close....the food was not good and neither was the service - and even the coffee wasn't like last time :( Oh well...it was nice being with Lloyd!
His day with me today was to make up for him going to Toronto last week.
After Lumberjacks we drove over to West Edmonton Mall....when we go to Whistler in a few weeks, Lloyd and I have to go to the 'Presidents Dinner' a formal dinner and dance at the hotel after the conference there.....so Lloyd needs a suit!!! He only has an old ne - he never needs to wear one for work so he's never bought a new one - but his old one is ...OLD lol...so we went to Harry Rosens and he tried a few on - we found one I LOVED but I have expensive taste lol - he found one we both liked anyway and its being altered ready for when we go....I plan to wear the dress I got married in :)
Ok, so a formal dinner and dance - the Presidents dinner...at Chateau Whistler......how absolutely lovely........how absolutely TERRIFYING!!!!!!!!! lol - I am so NOT the formal dinner/ dance kind of gal ;) I always dribble food down my front, I can't dance, I wobble in heels....I rub my eyes and then forget I have mascara on and end up with panda eyes.....OMG!!!!!
So anyway.....we got Lloyd measured and kitted out for his suit...then we went to the Disney store and I was ECSTATIC because the Halloween costume Susie wanted was 25% off! I couldn't believe it! So I snapped that up and Susie is paying her savings towards it as she wanted it sooooo much - and we bought a big enough size that it will fit when she goes to Disney in 2009.
Oh and the big story of today - We had a panic over Goldie our fish this morning - he was floating on the top of the water - taking occasional breaths (do they breathe????? well, his gill was moving occasionally! So we quickly changed the water and then Lloyd was blowing air into it and we put him back in and he was just there floating! But his breathing got faster and he seemed a little improved!
We ran out of food and yesterday bought a different flake food. it obviously didn't agree with him!
We went to three pet stores today looking for a Goldie-lookalike - Goldie is the fish Abigail bought with her birthday money. We thought it could replace Goldie before Abby got home from school, or if Goldie was ok we could just say we bought him a friend!
Anyway, we couldn't find a lookalike so came home with a smiley cookie as consolation for her dead fish!
But when we got home Goldie was fine - swimming around and looking great! PHEW!!!! I am so glad we did what we did this morning! Kind of reminds me of a scene from My Sisters Keeper!!!
I am so glad he is ok - he's a lovely fish - he swims over to say hi when you go up to the tank :)
So......after our time at the mall, we came home.....Lloyd put the stew on - today was day three for the stew - and the last day we have it - and it is sooooo good on day three! I went for a run (will blog on my running blog www.runningtomickey.blogspot.com then I came home and soaked in the bath - Lloyd was pottering in his workshop.....then dinner.....then Lloyd is now in the basement setting up his work station/ computer lab thingy that he needs for the new business he is involved with....and I have to sort out some scrapbooking supplies to take to Vals tomorrow as we are invited for breakfast and scrapbooking - omg we are sooo lucky :) Thank you Val - I am really looking forward to it :)
Today has gone so fast but its so nice to have Lloyd home....I know he is hoping that this new business venture will take off so well that he won't have to work very often and can be at home a lot...lets hope so. I love having him at home. Oh and he looks soooooo good in a suit :)

Slow start...
I had planned to be up and out this morning but here it is....11am...and we are still at home! But I've done a lot of tidying up and sorting out and we've pottered about and now we are all showered, dressed and ready to go - Abigail is hunting for her library books right now and then we will head into town.
My throat is sore today and my head hurt all night....my neck is all achey too so I think I am coming down with Sams cold. I am so glad it waited until today and that I wasn't ill yesterday. I had a migraine on Saturday and ended up having to take two imitrex as the first one didn't get rid of it. I was so worried I wouldn't make my run but thankfully I felt fine when I woke up yesterday :)
I took some beef out to the dogs this morning - left from the stew yesterday....and it was sooooo quiet out there without the chickens! Charlie was in the coop all on her own :( The people came yesterday to take the chickens away. I stayed inside as I didn't want to see.
It's good that they have gone nowe but I'm still sad and yes its very quiet without them clucking away outside!
Well, I should go and find all our shoes and head off into town!
Have a great week everyone!
