plans change...

We had so many plans this week...Fort Edmonton, Devonian Gardens.....Ukrainian Cultural Village.....but the weather is just so hot....almost 33c today. None of us want to trapse around tourist attractions in this heat...so we have relaxed at home mainly.....

Laurie is sleeping over at his friends home tonight...it always seems so quiet when one of the children is away.

We were in the pool swimming and playing most of the morning and then this afternoon we went to Costco grocery shopping.....after that we were back in the pool and then had a bbq outside and sat out there for a while....they keep promising a thunderstorm and then cancelling the forecast before it happens...when will we get rain???? When will we get a storm to cool things down? The grass is so brown everywhere now...even when it storms in Edmonton and Sherwood Park it seems to miss us...it hasn't rained for so long!

Susie had sore eyes tonight so I suggested she rest with cucumber slices on her eyes to soothe them.......unfortunately she's allergic and she came out in a rash all around her eyes.....ooops!! Poor thing!!

So hot. Too hot. Roll on Fall.....

Splashin' around......coolin' off.......

The perfect pose in the pool.....

Trying to get a great pose of all of us on a lilo in the pool...all looking the same way....all smiling at the same time.....all balancing.......is sooooooo NOT easy.....but it was fun trying :)
Today it was 33c and cooling off in the pool was just perfect!!!

cooling off at 30 degrees c

Canada Day Toes

Snazzy red toe nails painted especially for Canada Day.....the colour is 'Ruby Slippers' and as I have always adored the Ruby Slippers from Oz I just had to buy this colour :)

more floral delights.....

Red moon

I can never figure out how to get these pictures in the right order....

We had dinner outside last night......diced potatoes and carrots with onion soup mix sprinkled over them and wrapped in tinfoil on the fire outside. After supper we had smores.......with Caramilk squares and Dads chocolate chip oatmeal cookies.....OMG they are so good! Here is Lauries smore and him enjoying them as the sun sets :)

The sunset was really pretty through the hazy sky - the camera doesn't do it justice at all!

The moon was red last night - very strange.....I haven't figured out how to photograph at night yet and I don't have a tripod but I thought the pictures were quite neat :) You can't tell its the moon can you????

Trucking in the water

Our well did great but was so slow at filling the pool so we went for the easier option - having water trucked in!!! they came out yesterday afternoon and within a few minutes the pool was full! the company does a lot of pools and they also fill cie rinks in winter which is good to know!

So now we have a great full pool to swim in :) Although the kids still managed to have fun when it was only half full!
