Saturday....or Sunday???????

This afternoon has felt so very much like a Sunday! We took Abigail to her party at 1pm and then went into town....Lloyd went to Home Depot while Susie and I ran to Homesense. I wanted a jar for my granola...an old fashioned candy jar - hopefully with a scoop! But I couldn't find one....so I bought a table instead! It's a small round table...just big enough for Dorothy (my Orchid) to sit on in the window. I hate that houses here don't have proper window sills...kitchens seem to be the only rooms with windowsills over here.

After that we ran to Sobeys for a few things and then we headed home. Laurie has decided to sleep over at his friends house again tonight so we didn't have to pick him up. After stopping at home briefly, I drove over to get Abigail from her party - it was in Callingwood Cove a little lakeside village that has only one road leading to it. There is no store or anything!

Abigails friends home........it left a huge effect on me. I'm not going into that here but I can't believe the effect it had on me. I talked about it a lot with Lloyd over supper....sometimes the oddest things effect me.

Abigail and I then drove to get Chris from his sleepover party. He looked very tired and came home and fell straight asleep!

While he slept, Lloyd lit a fire and the rest of us sat outside by the fire pit...the children cooked hotdogs on the fire while Lloyd and I wrapped potatoes in tinfoil and threw them in the ashes again :)

We could see dark clouds all round us but we STILL have not had rain...they said it rained in Edmonton quite hard and although we have heard the thunder, we still have no rain...we NEED rain.....

It was lovely sat by the fire...the wind picked up as the storms were close, just not above us and that warm storm breeze is just wonderful :)

I sat there all relaxed and feeling lazy and happy by the fire and it just felt like it should be Sunday.....our day has been so much like a typical summer Sunday.....not a Saturday.

Tomorrow no doubt I will have two tired grumpy boys......we have to run into town to get Laurie.......I want to run again....tonight I went on the trampoline twice...I love it :) It's a good workout!!

I think we may watch Freedom Writers tonight.....McDreamy is in it! It looks like a good movie......

Goodnight everyone :)

Susan!!!

Congratulations to Jake on his award!!!! And also have to say the igloo room pictures are fab...I;ve never been to that hotel but I think it would be so much fun!

To those who have no clue what I am talking about, check out 'Its My Blog' - to the right.

Helping Dad.....

Sam helps Lloyd to put together some fences for my vegetable patches...

Tomato thief!!!!

One of the chickens sneaks into the tomato bed!!!!!

Laying time.......

The chickens make so much noise when they are laying eggs....they go into their little boxes and then scream out as the eggs come out. When there are a few in there at the same time there is sooooo much noise!

Dandelion clocks.....

I need a piggin drink!

Charlie heads down to the pond for a drink.....

Exoskeletons

Susannah has been studying butterflies at school and pointed out these caterpillar exoskeletons to me....the dog run fences are covered in them!!!

Clare!!

Yes seeing Abigail on the bleachers reminded me of Grease too :) It IS just like that - these bleachers were at a high school too and all the girls were sat around chatting just like on Grease!!!!

No none of the children have ever been hurt on the slip and slide here...we've had one every summer I think but they don't last very long. They are about $10 each which is less than 5 pounds, so if you wnat me to get one I can send it back with Olly!

Yes I remember you liked butterflies.....I can't believe Daniel didn't know that - he seems to know NOTHING about you when you were young! I bore my kids silly with stories about me as a child! I enlightened Dan as to how you were as a child and a teen...the silk moths you had as pets and how they would escape and be hard to find against the sofa pattern. We were looking at the silk moths at the museum and he didn't know you kept them!

Blooming marvellous!!!!

Our Lilac :)

Swallowtail on Lilac

I took these pictures this morning.....the lilac tree on the sunny side of the house is flowering beautifully and is covered in bees and butterflies.......the one on the shaded side isn't quite flowering yet - but almost!

Saturday morning......and its June :)

June 2nd already - can you believe it???? The year is going so fast!

This morning has been nice....I got up and took the dogs out over Marys land...I put my running shoes on and ran some of it....I haven't been able to run for almost a week....it was hard today because of a week off so early in the program but it felt sooooo GOOD to be out running again.

I came back and watered all the vegetable garden, the rhubarb.....took some photographs of a few things......pottered about. the girls have been tidying their room (clothes everywhere!) and now they are coming outside to help me plant the watermelon seeds...

We have some running around to do today picking the boys up and dropping Abby off......Lloyd wants to buy a new door for the mudroom so we may go and do that...I think I might go to Homesense and find a nice glass jar for my granola (I'm a little addicted to it now!!!)

I can run again! You have no idea how happy that makes me...my foot isn't 100% healed but its good enough so I can run again!

Have a great day everyone - its going to be 30c here today :) Just gorgeous!!! We still haven't had a storm so maybe we will get one today :)
