Christophers mountain climb.....

Chris decided he was going to climb a mountain!! He decided they didn't look too big and wouldn't take too long so off he went - in a t-shirt and runners, no water or food and no bear spray or anything - no preparations and no one with him. He just headed off into the woods on an adventure in total back country bear country in Spray lakes Provincial Park. He climbed this mountain as far as he could until the rock was unstable for his shoes and then he headed back to us. Luckily he had a bright white t-shirt on, so I was able to take some pictures of him and if you click on these you can see him fairly clearly up on the side of the mountain. It only took him about 20 to 25 minutes to get up there too :) Next time we think we will all do it :)

I stupidly didn't think to change camera lens though - duh!!!! i could have got some great pics of him with my other lens - how stupid am I??? lol! Anyway click on the pictures and you can see him - he is the white dot look up and to the right of the tall dead fir tree at the bottom left :) or look just at the bottom right of the gravelly rock face bit!! The white dot!!! :)

Chris driving.....

.....or not?????

Lol Chris wanted a shot that made it look as though he was driving my truck...but then Laurence popped up in a picture which kind of ruined the effect...and then Susie popped up pulling one of her mad faces.....and the rest...as they say...is history ;)

Enjoying late Summer heat...

The weather continues to be incredible - with temperatures of around 30c most days and in the low 20c's well in to the late evenings which is really unusual for August!! The average daily high for now is 19c!!! :) We made the most of it yesterday and packed up a picnic and headed to the outdoor pool again. It was really quiet there because of the schools being open :) WE love that pool so much - it's such a great size and the steps either end are perfect for Sam and Abigail - it's a great depth with shallow ends either end and a deep section in the centre suitable for adults/ teens and all the tables and sun beds around the edge. The little store is perfect and the garage down the hill is perfect for the teens to walk to when they get bored and want some independence and some freedom!!

We normally have our lunch in the gazebo but we decided to sit in the sunshine yesterday instead of the shade. There is also a playground. We may head there again before the end of the week if the forecast stays the same....

This Summer Abigails swimming has really progressed - her swimming on her back is going great - as is her under water swimming and all her acrobatics and hand stands under water etc etc.....

Sam is just my little fish now - swimming constantly and he is jumping into the pool from standing on the edge - he has so much water confidence and just loves being in the pool. I'm glad we did so much swimming this Summer - it played a huge part of our Summer - I swear I spent my whole Summer washing and drying towels and swimwear :) I'm so glad I bought extra of both for everyone!!! :)

Yummy supper....

Supper at the weekend...yummy crab cakes, yummy med bread and dips and even yummier mini sticky toffee pudding!!! And the bellinis are HUGE!!! :)
