Dirty windows...

All the Hummingbird pictures today were taken through very dirty windows so they aren't great.....and the sun is at the wrong angle too.....but I was just happy to catch them on camera :) I think I may sit out with the camcorder one afternoon and film them :)

More Hummers :)

Can you tell I'm a little addicted to photographing these little guys???? ;)

Hummingbirds again............

I moved one of the feeders to the porch beside my computer and it didn't take the Hummers long to find it :) Unfortunately the sun is in the wrong position to get very good pictures tonight...most were silhouettes...but I increased the exposure to see a little more detail......

Its not easy to show how tiny these birds are...but the fairy lights in the pictures are normal little fairy lights like on a Christmas tree.....and Hummingbirds are about the size of my thumb........

Hummingbirds on the front feeder.....

Poo :(

I phoned up about the job and the lady had already left for the weekend :( What a shame....I hope I'm not too late.

Oh well...if its meant to be it will happen - and if not then I just get to spend two full days a week with just Sammy :)

But hopefully she will call me back on Monday and we can talk. I am only interested in the Lead position....so if I don't get that I will be saying no anyway. I want to be the one planning the classes and deciding which topics we learn about (I already have so many ideas for both age groups!)

Because of homeschooling preschoolers in the past, I have plenty of teaching resources for that age group too - work books that cover subjects like the Seasons, each month of the year, festivals, crafts......circle time ideas etc etc......I'm really excited about it all......and I already have membership to various educational resource stores and online resources for printables etc....

I was recently sent a teachers resource pack that included a picture story book about native children and Inukshucks that came with miniature Inukshuks like 3d jigsaws to make! I have weather packs for preschoolers and a weather study kit......I have unit studies for preschoolers in everything from pond dipping and bugs and butterflies to science experiments for little ones!

And as the preschool is a rural one, I plan to involve lots of nature in the classes......everything from taking in tadpoles to show them to showing things like the empty wasp nest and making bird feeders :)

So....I really hope to speak with this lady on Monday. Wish me luck! I've been recommended for this job but I still have to be offered it officially...and although Debbie and Darlene know me and have seen me at work, the lady who decides doesn't know me at all!

3pm......

Lloyd is in a big meeting and so I can't talk to him.....I need to phone the lady about my job but am waiting until the kids get home from school so they can watch Sam while I call in a quiet room.....

The house is clean and tidy - except for the floors which need washing.....but that can wait as its the weekend and they will be a LOT dirtier even by tonight lol! bvut they are vacuumed, everywhere is dusted and even the kitchen sinks are all bleached and sparkly :)

I also cleaned and vacuumed the mudroom :)

I gave what was left of the cake to Charlie and the chickens to enjoy :) it didn't last long ;)

I can't wait for Lloyd to get home today. I'm in that kind of mood...just want to be at home with Lloyd :)

The children will be home in about 15 minutes.....they won't be happy as I wnat them to tidy the basement lol! But if they want friends to stay over then it needs to at least be clean and tidy down there - they all end up camping out on the basement floor with the playstation etc so they can at least clean and tidy it :)

I have to do a layout of myself at 35. This months challenge for the 'book of me' is to create a page about yourself NOW...so I have to do 'Me at 35' - and write about my likes, dislikes, interests, appearance etc etc...dreams???? inspiration???? Hmmm I'm looking forward to that.

Next Friday I am taking part in an online crop at scrappershaven too...I've never been at an online crop before so that will be interesting!

Tomorrow is Lloyds best friends birthday - he is in Baghdad right now so won't be dong much celebrating! I must remember to do some E-cards for him. He's now coming over for 2 weeks in September - and since we sorted things out, I am looking forward to his visit - and I know Lloyd is very much! They are hiring a bulldozer or something to pull down the barn with FINALLY!!!!

Friday ramblings....

I can't believe its almost 1pm already - today is just flying by!

WE just came in from the garden...the chickens are out running about...Charlie is down by the pond foraging.......Sam and Abigail collected todays eggs while I watered the vegetable garden. The zucchini are doing well.....we have our first strawberry growing - still the size of my pinky but at least its growing :) The corn is doing great.....as are the tomatoes (thankfully!)

My carrots don't seem to be doing so well this year.......any tips?????

Abigail has been practicing riding her bike.....when she falls off Sam purposely falls off his tractor too - as if in empathy! Its so funny!

Sam and Abby are having lunch atm......then we will walk to the mail box. I love that our mailbox is so far away.......its about a 15 - 20 minute walk there so going to check mail fills up an hour.....

Lloyd went into work late this morning which is always a nice treat :) he sat and had coffee in bed. After he left I sat and read my Runners World magazine. I haven't hada decent magazine for a few weeks and then this week I get 3 :) yay!! Ad a lady in Mississippi has kindly mailed me an April issue of RW mag too as I really wanted to read it :)

I can hear a chicken laying an egg lol!!!! Yesterday I picked one up from under a chicken and it was still hot and soft where it had only been laid a few seconds ago!

Sam has a snotty nose today and has been coughing a lot......then he came in to me with his nose needing a wipe....and he was covered in slimey stuff from head to toe.......I figured he had coughed so hard he had made himself sick....that phlegmy sick.....but NO

I smelled it all and then asked Abigail where her vaseline for her lips was. She said it was on the shelf...I asked her if Sam had hda it - and she said YES - its empty!!!!

Well, it was empty because it was EVERYWHERE...all over his THomas the Tank Engine train set.....all over the floor, all over Sam......

So I threw both him and Abigail in the bath and got th eplace cleaned up......then cleaned the bathrooms too while they were playing in the bath......so upstairs is nice and clean now....

Its windy out today which is nice as there were no mosquitoes at all while we were in the garden.

The breeze carries the scent from the Lilac trees - its gorgeous!

Lloyd finishes at 4pm and then is home for the weekend....no idea what we plan to do.....not sure if the kids friends are sleeping over tonight or not......all I know is Lloyd wants to go to Trail Appliances and price out kitchen stuff.....including a trash compactor (thanks Heather!!)

No more news for now......I think I have rambled enough :) Off to vacuum!

Do I have green blood??????

http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/health/6733203.stm

This is the migraine med I take....so I guess this could be me :) although since I now take 2 other meds as well I am taking less of this one!

He spilled his slushy!

http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/americas/6732003.stm

I saw this on the news this morning and Lloyd was telling me that the guy in the wheelchair only complained that he had spilled his slushy!!!! :) too funny :)
