Lazy day - tiring night!

I just got home from the mall....Susie and I went shopping for the evening and had supper there.......shopping with Susie is EXHAUSTING but fun! We bought her some new clothes, some shoes...a skip-it.......some other treats.....she had FUN!!! By the time we paid for a few things in Safeway (granola and wheat crunchies) the mall was all locked up and we had to walk all the way around to the car.....the mall here closes at 9pm.

On the way to the mall we dropped Chris at his friends acreage for a sleepover birthday party.......then we dropped Laurie at his friends in town..he's camping in their yard tonight......his friends are so so nice!

This weekend we have NO plans except to pick Chris up from his pary, drop Abby at a party, pick her up and also pick Laurie up.........and we are cooking on the fire outside tomorrow night - its so nice........potatoes taste so much better cooked out there.

Oh and we found some water melon seeds in Zellers.....and it says to sow them at the end of May when the ground is warm, so we are going to sow them tomorrow :) Thats exciting!

Off to bed now! Goodnight everyone!

Another 13.....

13 eggs this afternoon....so a grand total of 20 eggs today......

I think its nice that despite the chickens being free range, they still return to the coop to lay their eggs in the little 'beds'.......

How I spent my day......

This is how I spent much of my day today....with my feet up, reading, by the pool. 28c...a slight breeze....gorgeous blue skies.....the children playing happily in the water....

Perfect :)

Title idea help....

I'm scrapbooking these pictures and I am struggling with title ideas.....the whole page is about how Lloyd became a Dad so quickly....how easily he took to Fatherhood and how he acts like my older children are his.....how he always has!

Basically this bottom picture is of just after we got together....he took DD (3 at the time and now 9) to buy her own sponge to help wash his car....then he would spend ages with her outside letting her 'help'......its just a small thing, but it just showed me how he built on their closeness...and it was lovely to see him doing so much with her.

The top picture shows Lloyd consoling Susie when I had told her off.....she fell asleep on him :)

Nice surprise in the mail box....

I just got back from the mail box....I got a lovely surprise today. I recently took part in an envelope swap at scrappers haven. We had to fill an envelope with scrapbooking supplies to do with 'Springtime'. We were each given a name and we had to send to that person. I was given Kendra to send to, and today I received a lovely hand stamped card from her to thank me for the things I sent...Isn't it lovely? And inside the card can be torn off and it becomes a bookmark...isn't that a great idea? I love it!

Isn't it lovely to get handmade cards or handwritten letters in the mail??? theres something so special about them!

Daddy duck....

Here is our male Mallard by the pond this morning......I think we will call them George and Mildred....

fresh free range eggs......

The eggs that I collected this morning......still warm from being laid...

Friday - the weekend is almost here!

Lloyd went into work late this morning. Sam woke up at 4:30 am and rolled over to me upset because Daddy was gone! I looked over (unaware of the time) and saw Lloyd lying there sleeping so reassured Sam that Daddy was still there.

Lloyd and I had coffee together before he left - which is always nice.

Laurie stayed home today - he says his body aches from all the running yesterday, but I think he just needed a day off...so he is home with us and thats fine :) He is sleeping at his friends house tonight - camping in the yard as the weather is so good although they say we may get a small thunderstorm tonight!

I went out to let the chickens out this morning and collected the eggs...7 eggs still warm...very fresh :) now the chicken coop is clean again after the winter its a pleasure to go in and get the eggs....Charlie was out and about walking around the place....she came over to see the chickens and see what was going on......she seems to think the paddling pool is her new water bowl...so the sides need to go up a little higher!!!

I walked down to the pond to get some pictures of the ducks..but the male flew off....I couldn't see the female which makes me wonder if she is incubating her eggs......I walked back to the house and will leave them alone as I would hate them to leave.

I haven't seen the Hummingbirds this morning...late last night I cleaned all the feeders out and put fresh sugar syrup in them...they were all back out before we went to bed but so far I haven't spotted any there....

Abby and Sam have been playing playdough and now are outside playing in the pool....Laurie is sat watching them and as soon as I post this I will go outside too.

The kettle is on - I wonder if Laurie is making tea!

I wanted to add some pictures of last years hummingbirds, but to do that I need to figure out how to use the prtable hard drive...wish me luck!

Thinking of a friend...

A friend of mine is going through a very rough time at the moment and I just want her to know I am thinking of her. You know who you are and I really, really hope everything works out for you for the best...

If you need anything, call.

Lots of love
Jane
