Festive shots from our day.....

The festival continues until Sunday afternoon, and all of the wreaths and trees (complete with decorations) are available to bid on in the silent auction!!!  The starting bids for wreaths seems to be about $50 and the trees vary between $150 and $200 I think.....which is actually a really good price for a large tree completely decorated!!!

All funds raised at the festival go towards the Information and Volunteer Centre in town and will help programs that encourage, promote and celebrate volunteerism in the County!!

Festival of Trees 2009...

This weekend is the Festival of Trees in our local town.  We will be going to the main Festival of Trees in the city in a few weeks, but I like to support our local one too - it's only a couple of years old and I think it's important to support these events.

Last time it was held in a big hotel on the outskirts of town, but this year they chose to hold it at the mall.  They had taken over the whole mall and had decorated trees throughout - you can bid on them as they are all sponsored and decorated by local companies and part of a silent auction.

There was cookie decorating, childrens crafts, entertainment, magicians, face painting and tattoos for children.  Susannah was given a big goody bag for being there - a reusable bag filled with candy canes, pens, bracelets, coupons, a water bottle, badges and other little surprises.....

It was a lovely festive afternoon and the children really enjoyed it.

We also stopped for lunch and dropped in at the library to get some new books.....it was a fun day :)

Posin' with the Mascot.....

At the Festival of Trees today, the Oil Kinds mascot came up to us to say hi.  He rubbed Sams head and Sam was GONE....hahahaha and Abigail was scared too lol - but Laurence and Susannah were game for a laugh and posed for pictures with him ;)

Laurie's new sweater...

Today while we were at the mall we did some clothes shopping for Laurence...he got himself some sweaters, and a hoody and enjoyed strolling round the store picking things out.  I couldn't resist snapping a couple of shots of him in one of the sweaters....just iphone pics I'm afraid....I think he looks great in his new clothes though :)  Yes he put the hoody on straight away....sigh.... :)

Susannah chose lip gloss's from Claires and a new t-shirt instead!!!
