Grade one...

Abigail wants to go into grade one...she says she plays with a girl in grade one who is the same age as her....and that they do math in grade one....she has mentioned it a few times but I have always been so against the idea....but maybe we should try it and see how she does....I don't know.....Lloyd is going to call the Principal and see what he says...

Grade one would mean all day every day.

Oh and Chris has asked if he can go to Concordia High School next year.....maybe we will look into that idea.....he says they bus from here but I doubt that...its a private school in Edmonton! He'd have to go in with lloyd each morning...but it might be better than a Sherwood Park high school...I don't know much about it....

I did suggest boarding school though ;)

Lloyds day off...

Lloyd had today off of work...well officially he 'worked from home' but all it meant was he made the odd phone call, sent the odd email from his blackberry...oh and he took part in a conference cal for 20 minutes while we were walking back to the car at WEM....

The rest of the day was ours :)

We had breakfast at Lumberjacks - I was hoping for a repeat of when I went there with Val the other week, but it was nothing close....the food was not good and neither was the service - and even the coffee wasn't like last time :( Oh well...it was nice being with Lloyd!

His day with me today was to make up for him going to Toronto last week.

After Lumberjacks we drove over to West Edmonton Mall....when we go to Whistler in a few weeks, Lloyd and I have to go to the 'Presidents Dinner' a formal dinner and dance at the hotel after the conference there.....so Lloyd needs a suit!!! He only has an old ne - he never needs to wear one for work so he's never bought a new one - but his old one is ...OLD lol...so we went to Harry Rosens and he tried a few on - we found one I LOVED but I have expensive taste lol - he found one we both liked anyway and its being altered ready for when we go....I plan to wear the dress I got married in :)

Ok, so a formal dinner and dance - the Presidents dinner...at Chateau Whistler......how absolutely lovely........how absolutely TERRIFYING!!!!!!!!! lol - I am so NOT the formal dinner/ dance kind of gal ;) I always dribble food down my front, I can't dance, I wobble in heels....I rub my eyes and then forget I have mascara on and end up with panda eyes.....OMG!!!!!

So anyway.....we got Lloyd measured and kitted out for his suit...then we went to the Disney store and I was ECSTATIC because the Halloween costume Susie wanted was 25% off! I couldn't believe it! So I snapped that up and Susie is paying her savings towards it as she wanted it sooooo much - and we bought a big enough size that it will fit when she goes to Disney in 2009.

Oh and the big story of today - We had a panic over Goldie our fish this morning - he was floating on the top of the water - taking occasional breaths (do they breathe????? well, his gill was moving occasionally! So we quickly changed the water and then Lloyd was blowing air into it and we put him back in and he was just there floating! But his breathing got faster and he seemed a little improved!

We ran out of food and yesterday bought a different flake food. it obviously didn't agree with him!

We went to three pet stores today looking for a Goldie-lookalike - Goldie is the fish Abigail bought with her birthday money. We thought it could replace Goldie before Abby got home from school, or if Goldie was ok we could just say we bought him a friend!

Anyway, we couldn't find a lookalike so came home with a smiley cookie as consolation for her dead fish!

But when we got home Goldie was fine - swimming around and looking great! PHEW!!!! I am so glad we did what we did this morning! Kind of reminds me of a scene from My Sisters Keeper!!!

I am so glad he is ok - he's a lovely fish - he swims over to say hi when you go up to the tank :)

So......after our time at the mall, we came home.....Lloyd put the stew on - today was day three for the stew - and the last day we have it - and it is sooooo good on day three! I went for a run (will blog on my running blog www.runningtomickey.blogspot.com then I came home and soaked in the bath - Lloyd was pottering in his workshop.....then dinner.....then Lloyd is now in the basement setting up his work station/ computer lab thingy that he needs for the new business he is involved with....and I have to sort out some scrapbooking supplies to take to Vals tomorrow as we are invited for breakfast and scrapbooking - omg we are sooo lucky :) Thank you Val - I am really looking forward to it :)

Today has gone so fast but its so nice to have Lloyd home....I know he is hoping that this new business venture will take off so well that he won't have to work very often and can be at home a lot...lets hope so. I love having him at home. Oh and he looks soooooo good in a suit :)

Would you pay to look at an amputated leg?
