Its date night............kind of....

Wednesday is here.....but the roads are slippery and I am feeling ill so we are not going out for date night......I made a cottage pie this morning but then Lloyd suggested I keep that for tomorrow and we have take-out for tonight...so he is at Joey Tomato's now picking up dinner for us....the children have already eaten........Lloyd has no work to do tonight so we will spend the evening relaxing - first time this week!!!

The children spent much of the afternoon sledding...without me again :( I just don't have the energy....after lunch I started feeling ill again from this sinus thing/ bad cold I have......it really is not like me to get ill....I don't think I had a cold last year.......but this one is just nasty :(

I phoned my sister for a chat and ended up talking to her for 2 1/2 hours! When I got off the phone I checked email and I had several emails from Lloyd that read:

1.Trying to phone you baby!

2.Babes, tried to phone but still engaged.
Have to go to a meeting from 4:30 to 5:30 then go get the car, means I won’t finish early nor will I get this huge back log of work done.
Let me know you want me to picj Joeys up on the way home or just to come straight home? Do you need more meds??? Or just me and hugs!
Love you!

3. Who you on the phone to?

4. Still engaged! Stop gassing!!

5. Getting worried now, phone still engaged, no email contact from you, will have police in 15 mins if I don’t hear from you!

so yes lol he panics when he can't get hold of me ;)

My sister wasn't very happy (quite rightly so really) so I suggested she come out for a visit...but I don't think she will.

The furnace guy serviced the furnace......and finished fitting the humidifier.....he said Lloyd chose a good one so thats good to know! So hopefully no more dry throats in the mornings...

My sister thought it was funny that we have to have humidifiers in our houses because its so dry - when she has a de-humidifier in her house!!!!

Charlie the pig spent much of the day in with us today...I kept finding her curled up with the boys or on someones lap...she is such a friendly little pig.....seems to adore the children!

Rosie is still doing well...maybe tomorrow we could let her out with Amber...we have been keeping them separate but maybe they are ready to spend some time together......
Its been a good day all in all.......Susannah wanted scrambled eggs for supper so she made her own supper...its lovely seeing them grow up like that.....she beats the eggs anbd adds things like parsley or cheese and tomato etc and she cooks it all up and makes toast to go with it.......she loves to cook!
I will be glad when Lloyd gets home safely. I am looking forward to the long weekend...he has Monday off too which is always a good thing :)

Enclosed..............

So I have had sick children - or been sick myself....for two weeks now...so we haven't been anywhere or really done anything for two weeks........I love to be at home when its my choice but now I am starting to feel a bit housebound and fed up! The roads are nasty in town ...took Lloyd sooo long to get to work this morning....luckily everyone is being careful and there weren't many accidents reported.....but it puts me off going out tonight for date night and leaving the children......so we will stay home instead................

Yesterday we had thick fog so I stayed home and misses homeschool group, library day etc etc.....but the girls went to dance.....today Lloyd has taken my truck in to be serviced so I have no truck to go anywhere.....I had no truck Monday because Rosie had to go to the vets...

We had a big dump of snow last night....a surprising amount for early November.....looks like it could well hang around for the rest of winter......tonight the temp is supposed to drop to -19c..........in fact it reached the high 0f 2c at 4am this morning and has been dropping ever since...... -8 by the drive home they say..............

Please tomorrow NO fog and NO icy roads or more snow.....I am going OUT!!! I'm meeting my friend Samantha and she has invited my younger two into her preschool class for a while in the morning.......Chris is working all day and we want to go shopping too...........tomorrow night the kids all have friends sleeping over (hopefully) and Friday I am going to the opening of a new playgroup......then the boys have the homeschoolers teen movie night in town....they go at 3:30 and they are having a movie marathon......watching all three Indiana Jones movies, discussing them and sharing pizza :) it's a monthly thing! It ends at 11pm I think....

But for today I am 'stuck' at home again....the furnace guy should be here at any moment... he is servicing the furnace and fixing the humidifier.....

We have tidied up and the bathrooms are clean, floors are vacuumed, laundry sorted, kitchen clean and main floor dusted.....basement is tidied.....

Its now 9:44am and I am catching up with emails ......Chris is in the shower.......the other 4 are at the table doing various things.......finishing off their Guy Fawkes projects and then we will start our next project which is for Remembrance Day................that will take us to Saturday when we are going to an exhibition.......

Next week we are planning to start a wonderful project idea that I have 'stolen' from Daisy!!!! You can read all about it on her Montessori blog (link to the right) it's based on 'around the world in 80 days'..................we are 'tweaking' it to suit us but the idea is wonderful! Daisy often has wonderful ideas on her blog...so even if your children are in school you can find things to do at weekends/ evenings and holidays etc with your children.

Yes we unschool but unschooling doesn't mean we do nothing...and my children love projects and calendar unit studies....I make them fun by adding things like cooking or meals out to fit and field trips for each project ....or ways to celebrate at home (sadly our Guy Fawkes celebration was cancelled because we were sick) so yes we unschool and follow the childrens interests but that involves creating projects and unit studies that they love!

I am looking forward to getting out of the house tomorrow...I am not 100% better but I want OUT!!!!!
