JYC album....so far!!

My preparation for Journal Your Christmas continues.....this is how my album looks now.  Most pages are decorated ready for the class to start.  It's lovely and fat now and stands on it's own :)  I am loving this project :)  I plan to combine all three classes in this one album!!

The front looks quite bare still as I plan to add things through the class and when it is finally finished I will add ribbon to the book rings.

Loooooooong day!!!

I was awake at 4am today.  Wide awake.  Want to get up and do something (but not disturb anyone) awake!!

This is soooo NOT like me at all - I am NOT a morning person.  You can tell this easily by the sign that hangs beside my bed:

See!!  It CLEARLY states that I am NOT a morning person!!!  Sooooo WHY was I awake at bloody 4am?????

Still, Lloyds alarm went off at 5:45 and so we chatted and had coffee before he left for work which was a really nice start to the day.  By 7:45 when I had to get the kids up for the day I wasn't feeling so bright-eyed and bushy tailed though.  I was ready to go back to sleep then!  TYPICAL hahaha!!

I managed to get Sam to school (although he is like me and when I woke him up he was NOT happy and cried saying he goes to school TOO often!!!  Lol he goes once a week)!!!

I switched the crockpot on before we headed out so at least dinner was on the go!

After dropping Sam at school, Abigail and I headed to 23rd Ave and also 17th St and did a little shopping (pet supplies, magazines, lunch and movie provisions, asparagus) - then headed to Starbucks for a drink and snack while we waited for Best Buy to open.

Abigail had wanted to watch Santa Buddies, so our plan for the day was to go out and get it, then head home and snuggle up by the fire to watch it together :)  They had a special deal if you got Snow White too - $8 off AND two stuffies of dogs from the movie!!  Abigail was thrilled!!  We came home and enjoyed the movie and relaxed at home together before heading out for Sam.  I was sooooo sleepy by the time we headed out, but when I came home I climbed in the bath to relax.

Susannah and Sam peeled and boiled the potatoes for me while I was in the bath so they were all ready to go in the roasting pan when I got out.  Roast beef pot roast, with crispy roast potatoes and asparagus!! Yum!!

Soooo tired and my shoulders ache so I'm having a massage tonight - for sure!!!

Still have to get my Avon order in to Dana.

Most of all though, I plan to be in bed by 9pm with the Book Thief....and Lloyd ;)

Did I mention that I am NOT a morning person????  ;)

Fab article on homework AND yay for a Calgary family :)

Read this article about no homework!!!  I swear the more I read the Free Range website, the more normal I feel - there ARE others out there who think like me!!!  :)  Yay for the family in Calgary!!!  I am sooooo glad my kids don't get homework!!  This is something I feel strongly about!!  Children need down time - families need down time - kids need to be kids and have time to burn up energy or just relax and de-stress!!   They are already losing out on recess and phys ed at school because of cutbacks and cramming in more academics - the schools just don't learn!!  No wonder so many kids are on ADHD drugs :(

I don't agree with having kids in endless classes and activities either - but at least getting rid of homework in the elementary years - and preferably until grade 9, would help relieve kids of today from a BIT of the stress they are under!!!
