Twirly Girl....

It's been less than two days, but my banana girl has already become a bit of an expert where twirling a baton is concerned!  I love Abigail's determination when it comes to learning things that interest her!  She will google or youtube away all day and watch video after video of how to do something, and then copy, copy, copy and practice, practice, practice....until she gets it perfect.

She can now spin in two ways just as fast as me!!  :)

Breezy days...

We were up bright and early this morning and out the door to head to school for the Advent Assembly.  Susannah was singing there.

It was soooo windy again today.  It was +11c first thing this morning but soon cooled off to -3c by lunch time!!  The wind just blew the warm weather in and right out again!!  The flag outside of the school was flapping away!!  It looked so lovely against the blue sky though!

We headed home and I finished prepping for my first students to arrive!

I taught my first class today.  It seemed to go really well.  I enjoyed meeting everyone and and loved the art they created.  Each piece was so different and individual, and they were each able to go home at the end of the session with a completed canvas!!

They are all signed up for other classes in the New Year which is wonderful and it will be great to see them again!

It was the first time I had taught for a long while, but for a first time it went fine and the biggest challenge really was space.  That won't be an issue come January, and neither will be clear-up afterwards!

Had a great chat with Nicole this afternoon too about future plans - so that is great news too!!

Once the class was over, I sat and had lunch with Abby and Sam, and then we spent the afternoon pottering about and chatting - we did some baton twirling together....and we worked on our online class. Abby and I printed off our next assignments and wrote about them in our journals and we decorated our journals too.

Sam worked on his pet store he has created...it helps him with his math and his money math in particular!  He also did some art/ crafts for a while.

This evening the younger three went to their dads house while Laurence and I went to get him some jeans and a pair of headphones - his headphones keep breaking and he isn't sure why - he thinks his phone is breaking them....something with the connection....but we'll see I guess!!  This last pair only lasted since Vegas!!

Today is the anniversary of the accident that sadly killed Mandy's children Ashley and Cameron.  I think of them often.  I think of Mandy often too and hope she is doing well.

Today is also my children's half sisters birthday.  Ella Paige Fernandez.  They have never met her.  They  will probably never know each other well, but at least I can say I always tried to make sure they knew they had a sister and every year I make sure to remind them it's her birthday today.

It isn't a date that is easily forgotten as she was born the same day as the accident :(

Mother and Daughter...

Abigail and I are currently taking the Brave Girls Club Mother and Daughter class.  It's a wonderful online class that uses art and journaling, amongst other things, to create lasting memories and keepsakes for each other!!

The class has videos and coursework - and includes assignments we have to do!!

Last week we worked together to create these question cards (above) and tonight we headed into town, curled up in some armchairs in Second Cup, and spent an hour or so answering all the questions together!!  We took turns asking each other a question and then listened to each others answers, talked about them, drank our drinks (Holiday London Fog and Candy Cane Hot Chocolate) and chatted together!!

We didn't write anything down, but in a few weeks we will have another assignment where we have to remember what each other answered and we have to journal about it!!

It was so much fun and a lovely way to spend time together.

Abby is very much my mini-me :)

Lifting the Stanley Cup!!

Headed to United Cycle today to kit Abby out with her baton twirling gear....while we were there I snapped a picture of Sam by the giant Stanley Cup...and then he asked if I'd snap a picture of him pretending to lift it!  I told him it was a great idea and he told me he got the idea from Despicable Me - when the guy takes a picture pretending to hold the Pyramid!!  :)

I love his memory :)

And I love how great this picture came out!!!
