Scenes from our day......

Today Lloyd and I ran into town to pick Laurie up from his friends house......we also went to Salisbury garden centre...not one of my favourite garden centres but its ok.....

Once home, I potted some annuals that attract Hummingbirds.....watered my vines......watered my vegetable garden and sat with the children while they played in the pool....

Chris's friend came over and stayed for supper - which was cooked over the fire again....and we finished off with roasted marshmallows again.

I dropped Chris's friend home around 6pm and sent him home with 2 dozen fresh eggs.

Lloyd bathed Sam while I got the chickens back in their coop for the evening (they are really easy to get back in - they just follow you in!

I also watered the vegetable garden again and walked around collecting all the clothing and toys that seem to get discarded around the place during the day!

I am about to go for a run with Laurie and Susie....we are running a different route today to see if it changes things up.....we may come back and then cycle for awhile and see how we feel - depends on the heat....

Lloyd and I haven't eaten yet, so when I get home I think I will grill some chicken and have that with rice.

We have a dilemma here.....the grass needs to be cut by the pond but the Daddy duck is really not happy for us to be mowing near the pond....so we need to leave that grass alone.......BUT if it gets much longer the tractor will struggle to cut it because its a hill......so we can't decide whether to just cut it now and Daddy duck will have to get used to it....or leave it and let the ducks have peace....I think we have decided to just leave it but we will have to figure out how to cut it once it is really long.

Have to go and put my running shoes on and go for my run!!

I'm sad the weekend is almost over......its been so lovely - FABULOUS weather and just really relaxing here at home with nothing really to do!

Have a great week everyone!

Flowers in the garden.........

A few pictures of things flowering in the garden right now.....

Dorothy sees the light........

I have wanted a table for Dorothy for a while.....but I couldn't find anything the right size or style......Yesterday I found this table in Homesense for just $19.99!!! I'm not keen on the flowery painting on the top, but I figure I can paint over that....I just liked the style and colour though....it had to suit the house.

So now Dorothy can sit in the window and enjoy some light (Orchids don't like direct sunlight.....just lots of light)........although I do worry about her being touched or knocked over now she is more 'in the way'....

Sunday morning...

I feel crappy today.....I can't seem to deal with noise this morning - background noise...its weird but its like I can hear it really loudly and I can't focus because of it. My throat feels funny and I have a temp and just feel weird......I didn't sleep well so maybe thats why.....I really do feel crappy.

We ave to drive into town now to get Laurie from his friends home - he just called. We are going to the garden centre first though for some scented geraniums for the Hummingbirds...

I also want to look for asparagus...I can't find seeds or asparagus plants anywhere but I know they grow them here because our bungalow had a lovely big patch of them. So we are off to hunt for that.

Better go and get dressed as Lloyd is waiting to go....

Have a great day...I just added all the pics from last night out by the fire.....enjoy!

daddy's boy..........

Susannah being silly :)

Here comes the rain again.......

Actually, it didn't rain.....we waited and waited...we could see rain in the distance and we could hear rumbles of thunder but it didn't rain here until just before 1am when we were all tucked up in bed....and this morning its hard to tell that it rained at all......I hope it helped the grass seed though and my vegetable garden...

Sledding.....

Lloyd pulled Sam around in the sled for a little while - despite not having any snow :)

Skip-it........

The children practicing with their skip-it last night! I had a go too and it is NOT easy!!!!!

Laurie was at a sleepover, and Chris was asleep inside after his all night party the night before!
