Flying ducks....

A different pair of ducks was on our pond this evening.......not mallards this time......when the lawn tractor got a little too close they flew off!!

Caterpillar Crazy!!!!

Abigail LOVES butterflies and caterpillars.....whenevr she finds one she names it and then carries it out to the Lilac tree (which happens to smell incredibly beautful at the moment!

After cutting the grass earlier Lloyd spotted this little fella climbing along my trouser/ pant leg.......Abigail was thrilled and raced to hold him :)

Wasp nest......

While I was cutting the grass, Lloyd wandered through the wood and found this old wasp nest...it's tiny but very sweet....very interesting!

I'm going to keep this to show the children in my preschool class next year :)

Thursday and on the rollercoaster again!

This week has been a crazy week...full of highs and lows and it has felt like a bit of a rollercoaster....plans have been changed...workmen have shown up and not shown up.....one minute clean water the next not.......even Christies birthday plans didn't happen (which disappointed me a lot as Lloyd and I went into town especially to get everything last night....oh well......)all in all its been a bit of a crazy week and today has been just the same.

Breakfast with Val was fun....Christie was there very briefly but I hadn't expected to see her as she had said she would be leaving around 9:20am and I didn't get there until almost 9:40am....but breakfast was fun and Val happily ignored the chaos that Sam created!

Too funny - as we were leaving, Sam ran into the kitchen area and helped himself to a sucker (lollipop)!!!! The boss guy caught him 'at it' and said he figured he has been there before! Val said that its Graces fault for taking him in there and showing him where they are :) Grace is our waitress and is just so lovely - so so great with the children!

Oh - my big news! When I took Abby to preschool this morning, Debbie (the teacher) took me out of the hall to speak to me (yikes!!) she asked if I wa sstill interested in running preschool next year. I said yes. She then informed me that it is ALL DAY Tues and Thurs!!!! Two different classes....one for children aged 3-4 and one for children aged 5-6. I would have lunch break but the rest of the day would be working!!!

She has recommended me as lead which means I get $4 an hour extra (I have no idea what the pay is like - not something I had thought about!!) and it means I get paid for setting up/ packing away afterwards and all my planning.

I have so many plans and so many ideas.....I already know the goodbye song I want to teach them:

Its time to go home
Time to go home
We are all tired
Its time to go home.

Time to go home
time to go home
we are all waving goodbye
goodbye

(there is some basic sign language that goes with the song too :) We used to sing it at playgroup in Stockport back home!

I talked it all over at lunchtime with Lloyd and I asked him how it would effect our tax bracket...he says he doesn't think it will but even if it did or even if it meant we were losing money he would support me if it was what I wanted to do (OMG I love him so much!!) but he said he will just pay me less from the business so it won't effect us tax wise at all :)

So we have decided to just leave the money in an account and I can use it towards our Disney trip or something :)

Date night last night was nice....I had a few things I needed to get so we went into SP........had dinner and ran a few errands...we were home before 9pm and then I went out for a run with Laurie.....you can read about that on my new blog!

I spent the afternoon tidying up and also outside playing with Abby and Sam......I helped Abigail on her bike but twice she steered wrong and crashed into trees! So she gave up for a while! She's doing great at peddling in a straight line but when she tries to turn she steers into things!

There was an unexpected frost last night here....Val says it was just a mild one so I hope everything is ok.......my tomatoes looked a little sad this morning.....my first lot got hit by frost too - I covered them up but it rained on the blanket and then froze so it ruined them......I'm hoping these recover as they were doing so well!

Lloyd is finishing work early today so may be home very soon. My evening plans are to mow the grass (or rather the dandelions) that have shot up literally over night! We won't mow down by the pond though in case we upset the ducks!

Chris has cycles off to his friends house. Susie is on the phone to a aska friend to come over and play...Laurie is looking up some flowers he found in our book 'Wild Flowers of Alberta'......Abby and Sam are riding their pedal cars etc aroundthe driveway......

Laurie made me a lovely cup of tea....

My head is all over the place today so I'm sorry if this post doesn't make sense.

New blog!!

I've started a new blog. This blog will continue to be about my every-day life...family stuff etc etc. I recently started running and I have a goal in mind. I wanted a new blog where I could post about my running progress and watch as my distance increases.

Anyway, feel free to check it out...or not....at www.runningtomickey.blogspot.com
