Friday night stuff....

So I am busy printing off pictures for the latest challenges and dares at scrappers haven....I have to do a layout about 'my favourites'.....and then Debbies challenge is a 5,4,3,2,1 challenge - I will post mpre about that when I post my finished layout!!!

I was hoping to meet Tess tomorrow (Bradsmom) but sadly my babysitter is unavailable!!! Sigh my kids social lives are at it again! Tess I'm sad not to meet you tomorrow - lets try again soon!

Actually tonight, my 14 year old is at a HOT TUB PARTY!!!!!!! too funny! We dropped him and his friend Max at the party house earlier tonight.....and he will get home around midnight! But don't worry I'm not insane - its not 'that' kind of party...we just keep teasing him that he's going to a hot tub party!!! 12 boys and 8 girls are going and Susie asked how they will all fit into the hot tub...so we answered 'snugly' hahahahahha!!! Anyway, its well supervised and we know the kids going and although there will be a hot tub there it isn't really a 'hot tub party' lol!

Too funny!

Laurence has gone to his friends house again to sleep over.....we will pick him up tomorrow.....

While the boys were out and we had such a small (lol) family, we went out for dinner....got home and then got the new bed linen out of the tumble dryer and 'dressed' the bed.....I can't wait to go to bed now :)

So now I am busy printing these pictures of one of my 'favourites' and then I think I will make a cup of tea and we are off to bed to watch The Holiday in bed.....I won't sleep until Chris gets home though....

We don't have plans really for this weekend - I was hoping the weather would be good enough for Samantha to come over for the Guy Fawkes fire but we shall see.....Jeff is coming over on Sunday afternoon......I said we may go and see the Bee movie at some point.......has anyone tried the honeycomb sippers? Mmmmmmm delicious!

Mattress fun!

Sam and Abby had great fun on the mattress before we moved it upstairs!

Moving the mattress....

So as you can guess, Lloyd was right and we did manage to get the mattress upstairs...yes I did help - just ahd to stop a couple of time to take pictures....I ahve a very understanding husband lol and he doesn't mind my obsession with taking pictures!!! He just doesn't like to be in them (hence him having his back to the camera lol)!

Actually, it was thanks to me that we got the mattress upstairs - and if the delivery guys had only listened t me in the first place they would have tried it my way and it would have worked...we got it upstairs within about five minutes!!!! Me and Laurie pushing and Lloyd pulling :) Easy peasy lemon squeezy!!!!

Fridays sunset...

I had to keep stopping while we were moving the mattress because the sunset was so gorgeous that I wanted to keep taking pictures!

Hello new bed!

So this is our new bed...its a king size Simmonds Beauty Rest with the wonderful pillow top :) Very very comfy :) Can't wait to christen it tonight lol! And two new kingsize pillows as we had never actually got around to having kingsize pillows with the other bed!

Tara - thanks so much for the offer of the bed frame but we have decided not to bother with the frame until we have our new bedroom built over the garage in 2009......then we are getting a whopping great sleigh bed :) our bedroom right now isn't really big enough for a bed frame.....and I wnat a really nice big chunky sleigh bed in a couple of years....

Danica -

Danica, do NOT buy FLOAM...ever!!! It's nasty horrid sticky slimy messy stuff!!

Make sure you buy PLAY FOAM...its a completely different make and totally different product and we love it!

I bought mine at Scholars Choice on Calgary Trail...but I've seen it at a couple of other places since...like the store at Telus World of Science!

HTH

After school snack....

This afternoon A made some toffee apples for when the children got home from school.....I didn't have one but they looked delicious!!!

Painting boxes

Last week A and S chose a box each in Michaels - a box they could paint. Today we spent the afternoon painting our chosen items!

Bye bye old bed!

Although right this second, the new mattress is wedged on the staircase stuck and the delivery guys can't budge it! YIKES!!!

Ok they can't get the mattress upstairs!!! so its downstairs because Lloyd says he CAN get it upstairs.....so - we shall see...but whatever happens, I am sleeping on that damn mattress tonight - even if its downstairs lol!!!!

Feeling crafty!

Abigail and Sam wanted to paint the boxes they chose at Michaels last week, so I sat and painted beside them...I've only done the first coat, so have another coat to do when this dries.......

You can see Abby and Sams boxes on the homeschool blog!

Fun with pomegranates....

November is national pomegranate month...pomegranates are so cheap in the stores right now so make the most of them! We did some math experiments with them this morning.

Firstly A and S guessed how many arils were inside the first pomegranate...then we cut it open and washed off the arils in a bowl of water and counted them.

Then we guessed whether there would be more, less or the same amount of arils in the next pomegranate.

We did the same with the second and then worked out who was right :)

1st pomegranate guesses:

A - 1000

S - a lot!

J - 211

Actual amount of arils in the first pomegranate - 326

2nd pomegranate guesses:

A - more

S - a lot!

J - less

Actual amount of arils in the second pomegranate - 584!!! More than 200 more than the first pomegranate. I feel I was coned out of lots of arils with the first!!!

The second pomegranate arils were darker and sweeter so we guess that it was riper than the first!

After all that counting came the best part - the eating!!!!!! Mmmmmmmmm

Have you had yours???

November is National Pomegranate month......they are so cheap in the stores right now. Have any of you been making the most of the price? My children love them and Susie has been taking little baggies of them to school in her lunch.
