So I made my Knight a shield...

And Laurence made him some sleeves....

Oh the wonders of aluminium foil and duct tape :)
He spent half an hour marching in front of the front door protecting the castle from 'monsters'......I think the monsters in question were supposed to be Amber and Rosie who didn't quite understand that they were supposed to be monsters :)

Flying trucks.......

And 'Grave Digger' (the truck from yesterdays video):

Dirtbike stunts!!!

I think these were a favourite!!  I know Sam LOVED how high these guys could jump!!  Laurie's friends seemed to really like these guys too!

Monster Trucks!!!

Excitement at Monster Jam!!!!

Last night Lloyd took Laurie and Sam to watch Monster Jam!!  Monster trucks doing stunts as well as quad bikes and dirt bikes.  Laurence guessed where they are going JUST before they left - because several of his friends had posted on Facebook that they were going too!

Sam thought he was off to the movies - he didn't know where they were going until they actually arrived and saw the first truck!!  he was VERY excited!  We had got him all excited about going out though and I had shown him a video clip of Monster trucks that morning for fun :)

The boys cotton candy came in trucks that turned into hats :)  Sam also got a sword but Laurie didn't want anything.  He did run into a friend from school though :)

I was at home and Lloyd was sending me texts with these cute pics of Sam in his hat etc and looking all excited :)

For today....

Outside my window...the dogs are playing in the snow and the birds are helping themselves happily to the feeders - bacon fat from bacon sandwiches have been mixed with seeds on the bird table - a wonderful feast!

I am thinking...of knitting a red and white scarf - Vic colours :)  I watched the cheer team video this morning - FAB-U-LOUS!!!  Susie might like a really long red and white scarf for next Winter.

I am thankful for...a busy happy life to complain about (lol).

I am wearing...same old same old - Reitmans long sleeved T, jeans

I am remembering...Summer.....and Watermelon!

I am going...to finish Abigails scarf today - and start a new one!!  I'm also going to buy some circle needles this week and some new wool for new projects :)

I am currently reading...nothing right now....need to start a new book :)

I am hoping...to bake a lovely apple pie this afternoon for dessert - to use up all the apples we have left!

On my mind.....trying to decide on whether to stick with a project or give up.  I'm three weeks behind but I want to do it - just need to find the peace and quiet, time and motivation!!

Noticing that.......the weeks are going by very fast but 2010 has already started out as a fun and exciting year - I hope it continues to be as much fun - although perhaps a little less exhausting!

Pondering these words...'ten things to do before your child is ten' an article I was reading last night.

From the kitchen...I have a pot roast in the crockpot (beef) and we're having that with oven roasted potatoes, brussel sprouts, swede (rootabaga) and yorkshire puddings.  Followed by the aforementioned apple pie.

Around the house...tired children from a busy weekend....lots of flopping in front of the tv today....Lloyd is painting the front room, I can hear the washing machine on it's final spin.

One of my favorite things......listening to Sam's stories - his imagination is incredible!!  He has been telling me all kinds of tales and adventures this morning and I love hearing them!  He is walking around with his 'Grave Digger' sword from Monster Jam last night and I swear I don't think he has put it down all day.  He is my Knight and he has asked if we can get him some shining armour.  Hhhmmn a project for tomorrow I think - some tin foil and cardboard and I'm sure we can make some armour and a shield!!

Comfy pillow...

Cuddle time....

Susannah's birthday fun continues...

Yesterday Lloyd was up very early and took Chris to his speech competition.

Laurence was at his friends house still, having slept over for two nights.

I was at the house with the younger three and Susannah's friend who had slept over.  I made waffles for breakfast and we had those with fresh fruit as well as lots of extra toppings - whipped cream, syrup, sprinkles, grated chocolate etc etc.......the kids had a great time creating the most amazing looking waffles!!

I went into my craft room and started to work on my junque journal - the girls pottered about but it wasn't long before they followed me in and asked what I was up to - they were interested in my junque journal so I showed them the youtube video so they could see what they are - that lead to Susannah showing her friend her art journals - and that lead to them creating new art journals, new art journal pages and basically getting all arty and creative!

Susannah's friend created two new journals to take home - one is a gift for her Aunt and one for herself.  Susannah created a new double page spread in her art journal all about her birthday celebrations with her friends.

Sam and Abby got busy rubber stamping and creating :)

I am loving my junque journal - i'll have to photograph it later!!  I think I will have to get Lloyd to bring in my keepsake boxes so I can go through them and add things to my junque journal.
