Our Tuesday :)

Sam was the 'Special Helper' at PreK today. This meant he got to help the teachers with everything - got to be first for everything and was generally made to feel 'special' all day. He also had a smiley face pinned to his name badge!! This made him VERY happy :) He also had the 'Show and Tell' box!! He had a transformer in it. Don't ask me which one. The clues we put on the piece of paper were:

1. I can fly

2. I am a bad guy

3. I can change

So you can try and figure it out from that lol because beyond that I have no clue!! Stacey probably will know ;)

Last time Sam did 'Show and Tell', I took charge and made him take a beekeeping hat, some honey comb, and a photo of Sam sticking his fingers into a comb of honey down by the hive. He also took a honey stick for every child in his class and one each for the teachers. It was a HUGE hit and the teachers said it was the best show and tell they had ever seen and he knew all his stuff and answered all the questions! It was something 'different'.

This time he took a boring toy just like everyone else....BUT he picked and he's a little bit older and he was DETERMINED to take his transformer...and to be honest I couldn't be bothered to argue ;)

Chris had a pd day today but we left him to sleep for the day and woke him at 2pm

This morning Abby and I took Sam to PreK and then ran some errands including going to Save On Foods for a some treats for Abigails chosen day!

Today was Tuesday which means Abigail got to choose how we spent the day! This week she chose to spend the day at home and have us watch the Hannah Montana movie on pay per view! So we curled up in the warm and enjoyed that together :) She also spent some time today drawing, making Christmas cards and writing her Christmas list!!! She also chopped enough onions for me so I don't need to chop any for the rest of the week!!! Abigail likes chopping onions!!! :) She wore sunglasses while she did it - so funny!

I put yummy meatballs in the crockpot this morning and we had that with spaghetti, salad and garlic bread this evening. It was to go with the theme we are doing in our homeschooling 'Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs'.

Susannah had dance class tonight - the repairs in the hall are all completed and dance classes are back ON!! :)

Lloyd and I are going to watch more Greys Anatomy tonight :)

That was my Tuesday.....

Smelling sweet :)

Lloyd brought me home a little surprise tonight :) He was out shopping for new clothes today and he knew that I was running out of perfume..so he picked up some samples and liked one so he got me this one for now and try out the samples too to see if theres another I'd like....I love it - it smells soooooo girly :) He got himself the guys version too....it was a lovely surprise on a dreary rainy day!!!

Happy First Birthday MeetUp Edmonton Homeschoolers!!!

Yesterday we attended the first birthday party for the Meetup Edmonton Homeschoolers group. It was held at Kidz Quarterz. 37 registered attendees were there plus a few non-registered....and a friend of mine was there with her two little girls too - so we had a wonderful time!!!

The people who run the group had brought along a huge birthday cake for us all to share - there was colouring for all the children as well as plenty of play for the kids and chat for us oldies ;)

They also took a huge group picture of us all :) I will try and add that if and when I get one!! I didn't take any pictures yesterday (I know - shock huh???)

It was great to catch up with friends I hadn't seen in a long time, see friends I see regularly and meet new people!!! We had a great time - the children didn't want to leave!!!!

If you are homeschooling in this area I definitely recommend joining this great group:

'Cloudy with a chance of meatballs' lesson plans...

You can see a trailer for this movie at: www.youtube.com/watch?v=OP9wtdwgeok

And we used some of the printable worksheets you can find at:

www2.scholastic.com/browse/article.jsp?id=3751823

..although if you google the book title "+ lesson plans" or "+ activities" or "+ printables".....you will have endless results!!!

We saw the movie on Sunday and loved it :) Great fun!!! We had spaghetti and meatballs tonight for supper to go with our theme!!! And we also have been doing some work on tornadoes and weather. Kind of good timing as we are having a storm this afternoon!

We have a few loose ends to tie up this week with our project on this book and then next Monday we will start our next project which is based on the book 'Where the Wild Things Are' :)

Supper at Montanas

We only had 3 children on Saturday so it was a good excuse to head out for dinner - a cheap night for us!! Then we headed home and the children watched Monsters Vs Aliens on dvd. We saw it at the theatre and enjoyed it so picked up the dvd. Lloyd and I watched several episodes of Greys Anatomy...we're on a roll ;) Woohoo several episodes a night :) This is what we do every year and we love to watch it this way :) We snuggle up and watch two or three episodes a night until they are done - then each of the older three kids will watch in turn.....

Oh and yes Susannahs dessert came in a measuring jug ;) and it was HUGE!!!! WE thought they ahd made a mistake and brought her the serving for two but NO!!!! No wonder so many people are HUGE these days!! Portions are waaaaaay too big!!! I like Moxies little taster servings!!! And Northern Bears tasters too!

new scarf...

She soooooo did not want her picture taken with Barney ;) I had to bribe her with a new scarf from Stitches lol......this smile is soooo fake!!

The taste of Fall....

Mmmmmm Pumpkin Spice Latte.......

I had to snap a couple of shots of my favorite Fall drink for the 'Fall in Love' album I've been working on!!

Another Keegan picture!!

Lloyd went to check on Sam last night and saw THIS!!! Laurence started giggling and admitted HE had sat Keegan on Sams head!!! Sibling love huh???? ;)

The Fog.....

It wasn't foggy when Lloyd left for work and the children left for school around 8am yesterday.....but it wasn't too long afterwards that the fog closed in around us. By the time my cleaners arrived around 9:30, it looked like the pictures above. The end of our driveway had disappeared...you could just about make out the well.....It was eerie but wonderful!!
