Having a blast!!!

The children had lots of friends at the pool today and we had taken a friend with us too! We ended up taking two extras home with us too :) Jacob was there - he is one of Susannahs best friends from school - he phones Susannah up every single day after school and they talk for hours and he calls her if she is off of school sick. He actually reminds me a lot of Lloyd when Lloyd was that age. He even has freckles and glasses and a similar personality! He was there camping with his parents while they were having a new deck added to their house. Susannah was surprised and so pleased to see Jacob there!

In a couple of the pictures you can see the big group of friends from the childrens school and then behind them is a smaller group of girls they are also from their school!!....a little later on they started messing about with this boy named Tyler who was Chris's age!!! Poor boy didn't know what hit him I don't think but he didn't seem to complain ;) All these girls giving him attention - even if they were throwing beach balls at him and trying to dunk him under the water!! Even Sam was trying to push him in the pool ;)

I think they all had a fun day for sure!!! :)

Over-watching our picnic!!

This little Robin was sitting in it's nest while we ate our picnic at the table below!!!

An afternoon at the pool....

Today we spent 6 1/2 hours at the outdoor pool we love to frequent on hot sunny days :) We had a blast!!! Lots of the kids school friends were there which was a good surprise for them!!! It was a fun day! We got there at 11:30 and ended up staying in the pool until 6pm!!! :)

Sam on the slip and slide.....

Sand toys.....

Sand fun at 'Stay and Play'.......they also had a big section flagged off where they had hidden lots of plastic eggs filled with 'treasure' for little ones to hunt for!!!!!

There was also a section of bubble mixture to play with - with all kinds of bubble wands etc - a finger painting section to get very messy in, and a section with several paddling pools in it filled with all kinds of paddling pool toys, buckets, sponges etc for water fun!!!!

the HUGE slip and slide had a someone at the top with a hose spraying all the kids as they went down and it had dish soap on it to make it extra slippery!!!!! :)

Building with boxes...

At Stay and play they had a big section where you could build things with the huge boxes and tubes they had - Sam LOVED it!!! The girls there came up to me and asked if Sam was my little boy! THIS had me worried for a minute lol and then they told me that he was so cute and such a friendly little boy!!! that he had been chatting with them while he played :) PHEW!!!! :)

Stay and Play at Broadmoor Lake!!!

Yesterday after the library we headed to Broadmoor Lake to the 'Stay and Play' event held by Parks and Rec. We met Sharon and her girls S and E. and her two little boys she looks after in her dayhome....We all had a picnic lunch. Sharon and I spent the afternoon chatting while the girls spent the afternoon trying to drown each other - oh sorry that should read having fun with buckets of water and on the slip and slide.....and tattooing themselves - oh again sorry that should read finger painting creatively!!!!!

I think they had a lot of fun!!! :)

Sharon left at 2pm and my crew still didn't want to leave, so we stayed a little while longer and then Abigail's friend Nuala (from the library) arrived with her family (my friend Jennifer) so we stayed longer and chatted with them again. They had swimming lessons at Kinsmen at 4pm

We ended up leaving an hour after it all actually finished and were in the sun FAR too long!!!

Library games and classes....

Yesterday morning Abigail had a class at the library - Animal Investigators. Her friend Nuala was in the same class. They came out with nests they had made and plastic eggs that had been filled with gummy worms and candies - that they had been allowed to eat during a movie about animals.

While they were in the class, we did a little shopping, bought picnic food and hung out in the library - Sam and Susannah played the library game - Sam won a prize from the treasure chest!!! He practically had his head in the chest and told us that it was smelly!!! So we told him that it was an old pirates chest that had been brought up from the bottom of the sea!!!! :) After Abigails class Abigail and Nuala played the game too!

In the evening we headed to the Bookmobile over in South Cooking Lake too - the girls played the Spy Game and got their spy mission cards - the Summer game in the bookmobile is totally different to the main library game - they have to read a certain number of books all Summer to win prizes and they have to work out who the spy is....Abigail was given a fake moustache and Susie was given some big lips that are a whistle. Then we played in the park for a while!!!
