Sit piggy sit!!!!!

Scenes from home........

Working hard.........

The guys working hard on the dog run this afternoon.........

Farmer Sam...........

Sweet Susannah....

This man I love..........

Lloyd looking all sexy and capable this evening with his drill and tool belt :)

As per request.......

The back of our house....which will soon hopefully look VERY different!!!

Thursday ramblings...

Daniel and I walked to the mailbox with Abigail and Sam this afternoon...a nice slow stroll down the lane...Dan has asked me to take some pictures of him in the lane to show people back home how straight our roads are...VERY straight which is odd as the Romans never lived here...in England the straight roads are the ones the Romans built.....

Here everything is on a grid design......roads run from North to South and East to West and are numbered...you can't get lost here ;)

Lloyd finished work early......he has fixed the toilet upstairs and is now outside with Dan building more of the dog run.....he has bought me a big sack of grass seed, and as soon as the dogs are in the dog run, I will reseed the grass at the front that has been killed off from the dogs peeing.....

I made Lloyd a batch of his favourite oatmeal raisin cookies.....he doesn't like warm cookies though so is waiting for later to eat them....

I don't know what to do for dinner.....I've made so many meatballs today ready to freeze, but I don't want to eat them for dinner.....I'm tempted to drive into town to a few garage sales and grab some salad.....

I can hear Charlie snorting in the mud room.....I don't know why she isn't outside!

I'm sat here with my cup of tea......in my Eeyore mug that I got at Disney World......we were looking through the Disney scrapbook today - I did a two page layout of Minnie Mouse with the children....

Its a gorgeous day out again today....I think I will take a walk outside with my camera and see what pictures I can get......maybe of everyone doing the dog run...maybe of the pond or the wood now the leaves are coming out on the trees.....

I'm feeling very grateful today - I think it was because of conversations with Lloyd last night......and the way he keeps hugging me and saying how he misses me - I'm so grateful for how he calms me down.....helps me see the bigger picture....

I've also been thinking a lot about what I want for my children....I want them to travel...I want them to see the world. I want them to know they can do anything and be anything they choose......I want them to be confident and accept challenges...to try new things.....to experience all they can experience....I want them to work hard and be willing to work harder to get the things they want in life......I want them to see that hard work pays off. I want them to be independent and be able to care for themselves....

I want them to travel widely and only return here through choice.....but to know they can always come back.....

We will not pay for our children to go through college.....we will help them when needed but if they want to go to college then they will have to work their way through......Susannah has already decided that she wishes to get a Disney scholarship.....working in the parks while at school - we spoke to a girl there in January, who is on a Disney scholarship......she works in the stores in her free time and gets free entry to the parks for herself and her family....and they take students from across the globe.....

Christopher is building up his voluntary work resume to help him get a scholarship.....and also hopes to win a scholarship through his grades......

Laurence is our hard worker and he will probably work his way through tirelessly.....

So yes, I have been thinking of so many things the last few days......it has been quite eye opening and interesting.....a lot to ponder......

And now I am going to throw something in the oven for dinner and then take a walk outside in the gorgeous afternoon sunshine :)

Daniels 2nd burger...

This time Daniel made a double burger......two burgers with a cheese string in the middle...in one burger bun. Sometimes I cannot believe how much Daniel can eat!!!! OMG!!! 3 burgers, a cheese string and two burger buns...and he then followed up with a Mr Big chocolate bar!!!!

digging in.........

Dan digs into his very first self made burger!!! And Abigail and Sam dig into theirs too....

Dan, Dan the burger man!!!!

So today Daniel learned how to make burgers and meatballs!!! First of all he made burgers for him, Abigail and Samuel for lunch (I don't like burgers much so didn't want one)

Here he is mixing the ingredients into the ground beef.

Take the time......

Please take the time to click on the 'Patsys Ponderings' link to the right of my blog....Patsy has been working in Greensburg, Kansas.....the city hit by the tornado recently.....her photographs are amazing.....

Some say this is going to be Edmontons hottest summer for 50 years....if that is the case, I hope we all stay safe from tornadoes here......

Thursday is here!!!

It's Thursday :)

Last night was nice...Lloyd and I weren't in the mood for anywhere smart to eat so after a run into Home Depot for some timber...and a run into Michaels for a look around...we went to Swiss Chalet as it was close by.....we were shown to a really wobbly table in a not very nice location - we asked for a booth and they said their server hadn't shown up so they couldn't sit us there...they sat us in this corner table and then NO ONE came by to even ask us what we wanted to drink.....after a while Lloyd looked at me and said 'if they don't come over within two minutes we are going'...and no one did come over so we walked out......

I know they are short of staff everywhere but there were several people walking by, chatting and wiping tables so SOMEONE could have taken our drinks order.......

We then went to Boston Pizza..........got served straight away and had a yummy meal in a really casual setting.....I had Chicken Pad Thai which (considering it was just Boston Pizza) was really nice....

After that we ran into Safeway to pick up dessert and drove home.....

Nothing special for date night last night but it was just nice being together and chatting - and BOY did I need to chat last night.....Lloyd as always is full of common sense and great at calming me down and seeing things sensibly.....what would I do without him? Our date night isn't really about doing something special every time - sometimes its just about being together and child free for the evening...time to talk as we drive....time to just be.......the weather is improving so hpefully next time we can drive out and have a picnic somewhere - but ext week is Dans birthday and we are taking him to OPM or Joeys Global for dinner....

We came home and I finished off the album cover for my 'book of me'...so I am done with this months challenge.......

So today is Thursday.....Abigail is at preschool...I've done some laundry and have handwashed Susies Spring jacket which was YUCKY - no idea how she got it so dirty already......

I feel like scrapbooking so thats my plan for the morning...Dan is reading the third book of Mitch Alboms....he read 'The Five People You Meet in Heaven' last night in one go and yesterday he finished Tuesdays with Morrie (my favourite) so this morning he started 'For One More Day'

Sam is eating toast right now and wtaching Treehouse and then I will get him out some crayons and stickers and some scissors to craft with......

Dan is going to make himself a burger for lunch - I got the ground beef out of the freezer last night......he is going to make a burger from scratch....then cook it....then we are going to use up the rest of the beef by making meatballs to freeze and making a cottage pie for dinner tonight! He's really excited about learning to cook all of this!

Tonight Dan is helping Lloyd with the dog run - they think they will get it finished tonight....so thats good! Half of the run is in the trees and half is in open land....plenty of shade in summer and protection from the wind when its colder - they will come inside at night probably.......they will be so much safer in there though during the day than running free everywhere.

Tomorrow is supposed to be gorgeous weather so we will head out to Fort Edmonton or the Zoo or somewhere.....then Friday night Dan is going to the party in Edmonton.....it got moved forward a day....he is crashing there and we will pick him up on Saturday although I think he said he plans to go to Whyte Ave to do some clothes shopping.....

Then Sunday is Mothers Day and I still have no idea what we will do...but we will do something for sure.....what are you all up to the next few days?
