Todays ongoing debate...

We frequently have debates going on in this household and todays is:

Is celery a womans food? I love celery but Lloyd says that is because I am a woman! He says men don't like celery......and when I think about it, I don't know any men who do like celery.....

So, is celery a womans food or are there men who love it too????????

My two oldest boys like celery but I wouldn't say they 'love' it...........

My Thursday..........

The weekend has officially started I guess, as the children are home from school and its a long weekend...4 days.......

This morning (it was snowing STILL grrrr) I took Abigail to pre-school and then went to meet Val on Hwy 21 for breakfast....I really look forward to our weekly breakfast now :) The restaurant was really quiet and I got there early so I grabbed a local freebie paper and sat with my coffee until Val arrived...the waitress said she was surprised to see me alone as normally we have a table full :) It was the first time I was CHILD FREE for breakfast :)

I had toast this morning because I really didn't fancy having anything else...but I drank a gallon of coffee I think lol! Their coffee is REALLY good.........

Val was telling me that her barn cats often have a litter around now and I said I'd be interested in a kitten......I'd like an indoor cat.....another Bailey ideally.....

Val and I chatted until a little after 11am and then I had to head home and pick up Lloyd and Sam...they had been changing the face plates on all the lightswitches from that dirty ivory colour to nice white ones.....then we raced and picked Abby up from preschool...she had been painting eggs at school today and brought 2 home with her.....

After that we had to run into town - we went to Timmys for lunch and then stopped at the pet store for some plant for Goldy the goldfish.....after that we went to Home Depot as Lloyd needed some more paint - we chose another shade of lilca for the girls bedroom too and a border so we can finally get their room done - their room is so horrible with the 80's style sports border and the old white paint and broken blue blinds........

Then finally home and we collected mail and my new Homeschooling Horizons magazine was there YAY!!! I do love that magazine so much - like I've said before, it would be great for school parents too as it is full of projects and ideas to help yuor child and also to keep them busy during school holidays with crafts, bookmaking etc etc......

Tonight Lloyd is taking the boys into town to have their hair cut.......I think I will soak in the bath with my magazine before they go and then I can sit with Sam and Abby this evening and read or colour.......

I am so hungry today - why am I so hungry??????? Off to chop some celery......I bought a big pack of celery hearts at Costco the other day and they are lovely with cream cheese and peanut butter...Mmmmmmmmm

Oh and last night we went to the Open House at the school....it was very interesting - I will blog more about it later.....but the good news is that Abigails best friend at preschool, Quinn, will be in her class :) Thats so great for her! At the moment they are estimating there will be 15 children in her class........and it will run two full days a week and then after Christmas will be two full days a week and every other Wednesday until 2pm........I love that it is full day rather than just mornings...it will suit her better and means Sam and I can do more by ourselves on those days.....

Lloyd got the phone call today! He can go in and sign his contract on Tuesday moring...then it has to be signed by the deputy minister and as soon as that is done he can start....so he may be back at work next Wednesday :( I love having him at home so much! and he is getting so many of the unfinished jobs done :) we looked at base boards today (skirting boards) YAY!!!!! I may have baseboards before too long! That would be nice - we haven't had any for so long lol!
