off for a swim...

We just got back from a long day at UNiversal Studios - great fun - will write more later :) Off to the pool now for a swim in the dark :) Lloyd is coming too and we plan to relax in the hot tub for a while after the children are done swimming :)

It's been a great day.....so hot! Gorgeous! Makes up for yesterday being chilly!

Tomorrow is going to be hotter so we are heading off to the West Coast for a day at the beach before fireworks at Magic Kingdom!!!

Bye for now....

Christie......what did you put in my knicker drawer?????????? roflmao....I know what I am HOPING you put in ;)

Christie....

I can't seem to email atm so have to post to you here......what were you doing in my knicker drawer huh???? huh?????? roflmao you're just jealous because I wear KNICKERS ;) I even had a dream about your clues and surprise last night!!!!!!

Feed the chickens some cooked cold pasta or throw them some bread.......or cheerios....feed them the cheerios from the pantry......or you can go to G & E Pharmacy for chicken food if you want to........but they will be fine on scraps for a few days if you want to just do that! Thank you!

Have to go as Lloyd is complaining that I am the only one not dressed lol and we have to leave soon for Universal! Have a great day everyone....

Oh and Louise that show sounds FAB - I haven't heard of it before......I want to read that book about the Witch though....is the play based on that??? I think its the prequel to Wiz of Oz....how the witch became bad etc.....its a couple of years old......

Herbie!!!!

I loved the Herbie movies when I was little .......my dream car is a beetle convertible!!! My Mum used to have a beetl when I was little - it was red!

Today was chilly....it got to around 16c but wasn't sunny.....it has been dry during our holiday though which is good - only rained one evening! Tomorrow back to warm weather and Thursday will be 25c :)

Theres no escaping......

This was on a big billboard in MGM Studios...so uh yes I HAD to take a picture!

A few more pictures from our day........

The children enjoying their day at MGM Studios!!!!

Cars.......

Sams favourite movie and his favourite movie character Lightning McQueen!!!!! It was so exciting to see them :) They made a hige performance of bringing these cars out to meet the children.......just wonderful!

Laurence finally meets a hero!

Laurie was so so pleased to meet Woody and get a picture with him!

Ding dong the witch is dead!

The Wizard of Oz is one of my all time favourite movies and I have this weird obsession with the Ruby Slippers - Lloyd gave me a gorgeous snow globe for Christmas with the Ruby slippers inside and the heels click together!

Anyway....I was THRILLED to see the Witches hat on display at MGM today.......that Witch used to scare me so so much! There is even a house just off of Hwy 14 that looks just like the witch.....it's green just like her and reminds me of her every time I go past.

Wouldn't it be amazing to be able to wear this hat??? Even for a minute??????

MGM Studios....

We had a great day at the Disney MGM Studios.......the highlights of the day were Sam meeting Lightening McQueen and Mater from Cars....and Laurie meeting his Hero - Woody!!!!! He was soooo excited and thrilled to meet him! I liked meetng the 'Green Army Man' from Toy Story! We also met Mr Incredible!!!!! The Indiana Jones show was really good.....and so was the backstage ride.....

I'm too tired to sort out pictures tonight so you'll have to wait for those :) We had a great day though :)

The parade was great and the sets and streets were just brilliant! Abigail met one of the Little Einsteins....I had never heard of them but she was really excited.....Susie met Kim Possible and also the people from High School The Musical which pleased her........

I had my picture taken by the Tower of Terror....a ride I will NEVER forget!!!!

MGM Studios is a great park!!!! We really enjoyed it :) Chris loved the movie theme as he wants to work in film-making when he is older.......he bought himself a Mickey Mouse 'Oscar'!!

Don't wanna go home :(

It is so lovely here...so warm and sunny and I am sat here at 8:30pm listening to the children splashing around in the outdoor pool having sooooo much fun! It doesn't seem real that in a few days we will be heading back to minus temperatures and all that snow :( I really don't want to go back to that....I really want to move South of the border to the warmer weather........this winter in Alberta has been sooooooo LONG :(

Its like summer here and I don't want it to end :(

Just horrible!!!!

For the last couple of hours all I have been saying is......'Horrible! Just horrible'!!!!!!!

I went on the Hollywood Hotel 'Tower of Terror' ride at MGM Studios....and it was .....just HORRIBLE!!!!! Never ever again!!! Laurie hated it and went on 3 times!!!! Susie hated it but begged Lloyd to take her again straight afterwards! Chris went on twice too.......the kids love all the rollercoasters and luckily are big enough to go on them by themselves so go on again and again....Susie LOVES them! I went on the Aerosmith Rockster one or whatever it is called too.......straight after Tower of Terror....it was ok.......nothing compares to Tower of Terror...omg it is so horrible! I am so glad I went on it but NEVER AGAIN!!!!

Tara you HAVE to go on it!!!!! Such a well made ride but HORRIBLE....JUST HORRIBLE!!!!

Louise!!!

Congratulations on becoming an Aunty again!!!! Congratulate Richard for me....although I only remember him as the 'grouchy big brother' lol! So hard to imagine him as a Dad!!!

The Rainforest Cafe...........

My birthday meal at the Rainforest Cafe was just Wonderful........here are a few pictures including one of the dessert I ordered that was just DELICIOUS!!!!! But I DID share it with three others - 4 if you count the few bites Sam had!!!!!!! Even split between all of us I felt sick after eating so much - but it was worth it :)

Swimming this morning.........

A few pics of everyone in the pool this morning :) They had so much fun and I had fun watching them and relaxing while I sunbathed :)

Our villa

Here is our villa and the road our villa is on........oh and our hire car :)

Cute little guy......

This little guy was running around in Downtown Disney and happily posed for the camera!

Palms......

All the palms everywhere are also wonderful and instantly make you feel so summery!

Hibiscus..........

It is so lovely to see all the flowers everywhere here...so hard to believe it is January.....the flowers are stunning....Hibiscus in every colour imaginable are everywhere.......tubs of flowers and big displays everywhere you look! Stunning!

Just me :)

Just me at Sea World :)

Getting a picture of Abigail.....

Sometimes getting a nice picture of Abigail is almost IMPOSSIBLE and youo get 10 silly faces or moody glares rather than one nice smile..........

Meeting the dolphins at Sea World......

We were fortunate to be at Dolphin Cove yesterday when it was time to feed the dolphins.....you can buy 3 fish for $5. and feed the dolphins who swim right up to you and eat from your hand....and then stay to have their heads stroked :)

It was wonderful and WELL worth $5. We bought three trays of fish :) and had great fun feeding them..........

beaches - Christie....and other stuff :)

Your clues have me totally puzzled and excited Christie!

As for the beaches...I am sure they are open - the weather has been lovely...it gets colder at night I guess but only to sweater weather....daytime is sunny and t-shirt/ shorts weather.....we were going to head to the beach for my birthday but they had a big Pirate festival on called Gasperilla or something??????? (I thought of Susan!!) And it is like New Orleans during Mardi Gras - show your boobs for necklaces lol and lots of drinking and trouble and hoardes of crowds......so e stayed away.......we have a free day on Thursday so we may go to the beach then but as we will be back in 2 years I don't feel in so much of a rush to fit everything in!

I would think they only close the beaches during hurricane season.....

This morning we had a lovely lazy morning.....slept in and then I relaxed out on the patio while Lloyd and the children spent the morning in the pool......it was lovely watching them having so much fun with Lloyd.....he kept chasing the boys and dunking them under and then picking the girls up and throwing them high in the air so they splashed into the pool........I just sunbathed :) It was heavenly.......

After lunch we went to Downtown Disney to do some shopping.....Laurie and Chris had fun in the Lego Centre....we strolled around the different stores, took lots of pictures by the various statues....and the children played in this BRILLIANT Fantasia water fountain....its in the sidewalk and you just never know where the water will shoot up next so they were running through not knowing if they would get soaked or not......and all around are statues of the mops from Fantasia......

For dinner we went to The Rainforest Cafe.....I've been in the ones back in the UK but the children hadn't........it was WONDERFUL.....food was great.....I had the crabcakes.....YUM!!! We were sat under a HUGE toadstool and all around us were gorillas and elephants and tropical fish.......water was running through the trees and there were the sounds of the rainforest...every 16 minutes the elephants and gorillas MOVE and makes noise.....and every 20 minutes or so there is thunder and lightening!!!! Sam didn't like that!!

It was my birthday treat to go there for dinner and it was so great! For dessert I ordered a Volcano....and as they carry it through the restaurant all the staff yell VOLCANO!!!! It is a HUGE tower of chocolate brownie, ice cream, cream and fudge sauce and caramel sauce......OMG it was good.......4 of us shared it and we still felt sick after eating it...and it came topped with a sparkler thingy to keep.....I wanted it but so did Susie...and then the waitress came out with extras so we could have one each! I have a ton of photos!!!!

After Downtown Disney, we drove over to Florida Mall again to buy an extra suitcase...we have bought so much stuff to take back with us we knew we'd need an extra case but we may even need two! We went into Dylans Candy store again and I bought some Razzles for Lloyd...we have never tried them but we saw them on the movie '13 going on 30' and wanted to try them.......We also went to the M&M World store and bought a box of M&M's.....oh and then went to Adrenalina which is an extreme sport store that has a surfing ride in it...for $15. you get 30 minutes to surf on their water surfing ride thingy....it was cool to watch!

Then we went to Bath and Body Works...my Ex MIL introduced me to the delights of this store years ago...I bought a ton of it in New York and then was thrilled that they had a store in Edinburgh.....but then they closed all their stores except in North America....but there isn't one in Edmonton :( so I definitely ahd to go there and stock up on my Warm Vanilla Sugar body cream......you can shop online so check it out....OMG their body creams are sooooooo good and leave you feeling so soft and smelling so great! I bought the body creams, the bath foam and a few other bits and pieces......I may go back again before we leave....it really is THAT good.....

Talking of body stuff.......Lloyd and I shared a Jelly Bath on Friday night....it is the first time he has had one....it was so funny watching him playing with the jelly....letting it run through his hands etc.....like watching Sam playing in his sand box! Those of you who haven't had a jelly bath yet - try one!!!!! They are FAB!!! The bath here in the villa is my dream bath.....its egg shaped and has a lovely slope so you can lie back comfortably.....and its the perfect length for little me....I can rest my feet up and still fit the slope and not sink under the water! Most baths are too long for me to enjoy properly!

Well I am off to sort some more pictures......I will post some when I upload them.....I hope you ahve all had a great day.....Heather - as soon as I have time I will do your weirdness blog thing and tag a few people ;) I do a few of the things you do lol so I don't think you are weird at all ;)

Bye for now!

Sealed with a kiss.......

Me kissing Shamu ;)

My birthday pearl......

I forgot to post about my birthday.....one of my gifts was that Lloyd surprised me with a pearl ticket......in Japan in Epcot you can pick an oyster shell from a big tank and they will open it for you and see if there is a pearl inside....if there is, then they wash it for you and measure it and you get to keep the pearl!

So I picked a really fat oyster and they opened it but my pearl was hiding inside the jellied body bit (YUCK!!) so she scooped it out and she measured it and it was larger than average....it was a 7mm pearl :) Its beautiful.....really gritty if you put your teeth to it, and mine is a slightly greeny blue pearl - beautiful!

I love it! :)

For my birthday I also had the most beautiful pair of ear rings from Lloyd.....they are white gold with Zircon stones......the Zircons are the most gorgeous baby blue colour.......(Zircon is NOT cubic zirconia by the way lol)

In the middle ages, zircon was said to aid sleep, bring prosperity, and promote honour and wisdom in its owner. So as a sleep aid it is perfect for me - I always have trouble sleeping and my new meds cause insomnia too!!!

I also got to pick ANOTHER snow globe at Sea World today.....but they didn't have any musical ones :( but I do have two gorgeous new snow globes to take home with me :) Sea World didn't sell pins either :(

I really liked Sea World...BUT the staff are so miserable!!!! It is nothing like Disney where all the staff seem to be on doses of Prozac for breakfast......staff in Disney are constantly happy and friendly and helpful - Sea World is just not like that! But the whales and dolphins totally make up for that!

Oh and the Arctic Adventure was useless! It was $390 US for us to go to Sea World today - isn't that insane?????? For one day!!!!! Soooo NOT worth it.......although we did have a great day there and feeding and stroking the dolphins was well worth going for - I'll never forget that and neither will Susie! We won't go to Sea World next time but WILL go to Discovery Cove instead for sure.....Sam and Abigail will be older then so Discovery Cove will be more suitable.....

We can't decide what to do tomorrow....we were going to go to NASA but we think we will come back to Florida in 2 years...for 3 weeks next time so we may leave NASA for then.......I think we are going to have a lazier day tomorrow....spend the morning here and then head out at lunchtime........we will have been here a week tomorrow! It has gone fast.....

Shamu......

Well...what can I say? The 'Believe' show at Sea World is just brilliant! The Orcas were just stunning and I fell in love with them all....one of them was a Mama who performed with her baby by her side the whole time :) Very cute! The whole performance was wonderful!

At the start of the show they asked all the military people past and present to stand up and be applauded.....and they thanked the US and BRITISH forces...and all other allies for their work! It was nice that they mentioned British and other nations as well as the US!!!

Susannah, Laurie and Abigail sat in the 'soak zone' hoping to get splashed by Shamu ;)

I'm really pleased with the pictures I got of the performing Whales!

Birthday cake time.....

Susannah had her birthday cake back here at the villa after spending a day at Sea World - she got feed and stroke her favourite animal - the dolphin!!! She loved it! Next time we come we will definitely swim with the dolphins!!! Its a MUST!!!!

As you can see, Sam wanted to help blow out the candle!
