Scenes from our walks....

These pictures are taken on our land - my back yard - scenes we see every day on our strolls with the dogs, on our quads or out and about with the children hunting for leaves or twigs for whatever craft we are up to :)

Flower fairy :)

After a library trip this morning, Abigail set to work this afternoon making things form the 'Fairy Crafts' book - I just love this fairy she made this afternoon :)

Homeschooling adventures...

Don't forget to check out our homeschooling blog to see what we've been up to lately!!

We laughed out loud :)

Yesterday, Abby, Sam and I had brunch with my wonderful friend Val....it was great to see her as we hadn't seen each other in ages...busy lives and then her wonderful trip to Hawaii!

Boy is she tanned - looking so great and healthy - and Summery....sooooo not fair lol!!!  Yep totally jealous :)  Val kindly gave us a bag of goodies from her holiday though and the children were thrilled!  I had a gorgeous turquoise sarong (my favourite colour!!!) as well as plenty of other goodies in the bag that I have now put on on my shelves in my craft room :)  The pineapple candies are wrapped so beautifully that I have them in a glass on the shelf and won't let anyone eat them hahahaha!

Abigail was given a gorgeous a real shell Lei which she adores and spends the whole time telling everyone 'It's made of REAL shells'!!

Sam was given a turtle shaped keyring - Val had chosen to bring some of these back from her holiday because they had seen so many turtles in the sea while they were in Hawaii.  She didn't think to read what was on them - just saw the shape and grabbed them!!

We didn't look at the keyring in detail.....but Sam loved it and carried it around all afternoon showing everyone.  Then just before dinner I was havinga  better look at it - and realised what it actually says!!!  So we passed it around at the dinner table and all had a good laugh!!!  :)

It has the silhouette of a big boobed lady on it - and it says "I got Leid in Hawaii"   hahahahaha   the perfect gift for a four year old ;)

I think he should take it to pre school for show and tell on Tuesday :)

Yum!!

I am LOVING the roasted pumpkin seeds I made last week from all of the Halloween pumpkins!!  I have a big jar on my table but it's going down pretty fast  :(

I love popping them between my teeth - if you put them sideways between your back teeth and press lightly, they pop :)  It's addictive!!!

I roast mine in a tiny bit of salt and some paprika and they are soooooo good!  The kids love them too :)

Found!!

I was going through the pictures on Susannah's camera card last night and I found quite a few piccies form our holiday in Canmore back in August - pictures I had never seen before!!  This one was amongst them...I can't even remember Susie taking it....couldn't resist stealing it though ;)

And so it is :)

This was my fortune from brunch with Val yesterday....so true :)  I was up and out early...lots to do...lots to do....

I am preparing work and craft ideas to help us focus on Remembrance Day this week. Sam and Abigail have shown a lot of interest in everyones Poppies, and I want to take this opportunity to look at the Poppy and the reason behind them in more detail....

We will be reading stories, making crafts, and learning about War, peace and Remembrance. I will post pictures and links to anything we use this week. If you have any great links or ideas please do share them!!
